《Whatever》Chapter 22

Ignoring him, I said to Grey, "You just make sure she doesn't tell anyone about this." Then I walked to go back into the house while being followed. As soon as I went inside, I sprinted towards my room and locked the door as well as the balcony. Just as I sighed in relief while taking a seat, my door was being shaken so hard I thought the hinges would come lose. After a while, there was silence.
I let out a deep breath but then jumped when I saw my door being kicked down. I looked up and saw Carter standing there while clenching his fist, his eyes turning from blue-green to black numerous times. I exclaimed in shock, "Dude! What even?" Carter's eyes snapped up to mine as he stated while growling, "You are coming with me." I scoffed at his reply, "Sure." He looked taken aback and said with hope in his eyes, "Really?"
I looked at him straight in the eyes and stated while growling, "Not even if you rejected me a million times and accepted." I put much more pressure to the word 'rejected' and saw him flinch. I turned my back on him and opened my balcony door so that I could just get away from this asshole of a mate.
Beg your pardon.
Rejected mate.
I had just started getting on the railing when I feel a hand grab my wrist. Growling at the tingles I felt, I shook his hand off and snarled at him by looking over my shoulder. Still he kept his hold on me with determination in his eyes.
Please, if he's that determined, I'm more stubborn.
Finally getting frustrated I shifted there on the railing and snarled at him in my new wolf form. He looked taken aback as he took in my new form. My wolf whimpered, afraid that he might not like her new form whilst I just growled and ran the heck away from there. The thundering of paws was soon heard when I felt someone trying to mind-link me.

I put down my wall and regretted it whole-heartedly. "Jess. Please stop. I need you to come with me. I need to keep you safe. My mate deserves the safety net she's meant to get." he pleaded with me. Hearing that last sentance, I stopped running and turned around so fast, the dirt around me floated as I snarled loudly. I glared at him and told him lowly while taking a step forward, "I. am. NOT. your MATE." I said it in a hard tone as I continued, "You lost that right ever since you rejected me. So don't think that you can just tell me that I'm your mate and everything will suddenly be hunky-dory!" I glared at my mate who stood infront of me with his eyes changing from blue-green to black in seconds. I knew challenging him would anger his wolf. However, there was no way I was gonna go willingly with this asshole.
And with that, I ran back home.
After wearing my clothes, I stomped into my house in fury as I went to my room. The need to slam my bedroom door shut is obviously unavailable so I only stomped on it. Seeing the crack on the door only made me more furious as it reminded me of getting my heart broken.
I jumped into my bed and fumed as I thought how he thought just because of my safety I would come crawling into his arms.
Not in this fucking lifetime.
I growled as I said, "Leave me alone." She continued walking towards me and I saw her carrying tea, and by the smell of it, it was chamomile.
Just by the smell of it, my heart started to beat slowly and I calm down just a bit. "Christian told me it was your favourite while he was making it. He wanted to give it to you personally but I was afraid that you might bite his head off." she told me while smiling softly. I got up into a sitting position and told her after taking a deep breath of the tea with a smile, "Thanks Arianna." And with that, I took a sip of the tea. The heat from the tea sooth my throat and heart as my eyes started to feel heavy. I was almost lost in complete darkness when I heard a voice telling me, "Forgive me Luna." I felt like I was getting picked up and snuggled closer to the warmth radiating from it.

Soon, I was lost to the darkness.
I tried to pry my eyes open but they were so heavy with sleep, my body told me to go back to bed. However, my wolf told me she was itching for a run and I had to take a deep breath and try to lift my heavy eyelids.
The first thing I noticed in my blurry vision was, why was my bed on the left side of the room? And when were my walls painted white? And where was my mural?
Then, I screamed.
Why did I have a half-naked guy sleeping beside me?
I jumped and fell on the ground next to the bed in horror.
Where the hell am I?
Who the fuck is the dude in the bed?
And WHO changed my clothes?
I backed against the wall even more when I saw the person starting to wake up. That's when I noticed his scent. I groaned while rolling my eyes and thumping the back of my head against the wall. I got up from the floor and stated loudly while walking towards one of the doors, "I'm dreaming and now I'm leaving." Just as I was near a door, he grabbed my wrist and spinned me around until our lips were inches apart.
My heart started to pound at how close we were. Then when he spoke in his just-woke-up voice, a tingle went down my spine as he told me in a whisper, "You are staying with me Jesse. I need to make sure your safe and sound."
Suddenly for some unknown reason, hearing him say my name that way, made images I have never even thought of appear in my mind causing me to start sweating lightly. He growled, "Don't do that."
I said after swallowing, "Do what?"
He placed his lips near my ear and feeling his hot breath sent chills down my spine as he whispered, "Tease me."
I let out an involuntary moan which made Carter let out a growl as he stated, "You asked for it love."
Then his lips crash down to mine.
