《Whatever》Chapter 21

The sound of rustling outside my window woke me up and made me slowly get up while rubbing my eyes. I looked at the clock on my bedside table and it said it was 11.45 p.m. I slept since afternoon and missed dinner. My stomach growled and I got off my bed and padded to my closet to change in to my pajamas. After changing, I decided to go downstairs to the kitchen to get a midnight snack. I had just walked down the hall and was at walking down the stairs when I heard something break. I froze midway on the staircase and looked through the darkness with care. I sniffed the air around me and warning signals started to ring in my brain when I sniffed Rose's scent with an unknown male scent. Cautiously, I went down the stairs with quietly then I used the shadows to stay hidden. "What are you doing here! If my family finds out they'll strangle you to death! Just leave me alone and we won't ever reme-" Rose's voice was muffled which made my heart drop. Quickly I ran to the family room and saw two silhouettes near the window. I sniffed and quickly grab Rose and pushed her back then knocked the intruder to the ground.
The room filled up with lights then because Rose flicked on the switch while I stood on standby with my nails elongated and growling at the intruder. "Jesse! What are you doing down here?" Rose exclaimed in shock. I snarled out in warning as I saw the intruded get up slowly then he showed his face.
One good look on his face made me ready to pounce until, "No! Jess don't!" shouted Rose. I held my ground and asked while growling, "What are you doing here Flynn?" He stood there looking at me with his smirk still present and the mischievous gleam in his light blue eyes. He replied nonchalantly while running his hand through his shoulder length curly blond hair, "Wouldn't you like to know bitch?" I snarled loudly while Rose shouted, "Cortez! Shut up and leave!" He looked at her then and a foreign look passed over his face as he walked out of the family room willingly.

Willingly?
I looked over my shoulder slowly and looked at Rose suspiciously. She squirmed and fidgeted under my gaze until she said nervously, "Well, time for bed. So-" I held up my hand and pointed to the arm chair. She walked slowly to it and sat down. I sat on the couch and asked while crossing my legs on the couch," Why was he here?" Rose squirmed and stammered out, "I- he- we-" She started to shake and then I noticed something. I told her softly, "Mates." She looked up and said with her eyes wide, "You knew?" I shook my head. Then she asked, "Then how?" I touched at the base of my neck on the left-side and Rose's hand quickly hid what I saw on her neck with her hand. Her face turned red and then I asked seriously, "When?" Rose whispered, "A few months ago, he turned 16. Next thing I knew, he told me we were mates but," Rose's eyes started to water as she choked out while covering her eyes with her hands, "He chose another."
I gave her a look of sympathy and got up from my seat to hug her. I whispered to her, "Rose, you'll be ok. It's his loss. Alright?" She continued to suppress her sobs and I just sat next to her so that she knows she's never alone.
After a while, Rose fell asleep and I just wondered if this could get any worse. I stared at my 14 year old cousin and thought about her mother ad how she only met her mate at 15. Now don't get me wrong, it is true you find your mate at 16 but on some rare occasions, you could find them when your younger. Though we don't really know the signs that he or she is your mate at a younger age but Aunt Jo says if you feel warmth next to the person who claims to be your mate, then it's true. I rubbed the back of Rose's head like I use to when we were younger and dozed off a few minutes later.

"What the hell are you doing here? If she finds out you're here then I'm gonna be on death row!"someone whispered loudly. Still feeling my eyelids heavy, I went back to sleep. Through my sleep, I could hear voices whispering loudly, angered by something. When I finally woke up, I found myself in my room with Grey sitting at the edge of my bed. I asked while rubbing my eyes a I sat up straight, "What?" He only replied, "You better see it for yourself." Confused, I quickly followed Grey to the backyard and asked, "What's wro-"
My nose twitched when I picked up a foreign scent. I looked at the backyard and saw a dead body. My back stiffened as I walked closer to the dead body. I crouched down on the ground and felt for a pulse on his neck.
Dead.
I mind-linked Ryder telling him to come here fast. "Uh, Jay?" said Grey. I looked over at him and walked towards him. "What's up?" I asked. Grey pointed to the empty wall facing the woods and I felt a chill go down to the edge of my toes. On the wall, written in blood was,
I'm coming Susan.
"Susan? Who is that?"exclaimed Grey. I stared at the name, wondering why it felt as though I ever heard that name. I snapped out of my thoughts when, "Jesse!" I looked to my right and saw Ryder running to us. Then I saw pink hair from Grey's window and saw her looking at the dead body in shock.
"Why is she here?" I stated angrily. It was Arianna, Grey's mate. I glared at Grey furiously which made him whistle a tune as though nothing is going on. I sighed in frustration while pressing the bridge of my nose. "She's my mate Jay! What do you expect?" My eyes snapped up to him and I stated in a cold tone, "I expected that you would think of the safety of your mate! You already knew we were threatened before you even met her! Did you ever think that there might be a spy near here planning to take on of our loved ones as a hostage?" I fumed when I saw him turn pale. I stomped toward him and poked him in the chest while saying, "She came here. She is your problem." Then I went to Ryder and explained everything to him of what we know.
The warriors Ryder trusted got rid of the body while me and Ryder repainted the wall to its former glory. "Jesse?" asked Christian. "What?" I asked while painting the wall and getting white paint splatter on my arm. "She's going to stay here." he stated calmly. "What about her Alpha?" I asked while biting out the word, "Alpha." He hesitated for a moment, his eyes looked as though he was feeling contradicted. I stopped painting and stared at him, waiting for his reply. Finally when he opened his mouth to reply,
"You are staying with me."
Shit.

The Ramayana - Lakshmila's POV
We have read The Ramayana as kids and always knew it to be the story of Rama and his consort Sita. Every character has an important role to play. But not all of them have found much importance is any of the version. One such character is Urmila and her story with Lakshmana. All versions mention Urmila's sacrifice as "Unparalleled" but none depicted it. This story is an attempt to present the story of Ramayana from Urmila and Lakshmana's POV. Note : This story is fictional. The characters are the same. This story is an insight of The Ramayana through Lakshman and Urmila's eyes. There would be Nobody's POV also. The events are the same but the depiction is part of fiction. Parts of the story is loosely based/inspired from Sita's Sister but I have taken creative liberty to give my character more edge and depth.
