《Whatever》Chapter 17

As I sat there thinking about what just happened, the feeling of fear crept towards my heart slowly. Since she had been through what I'm going through right now, what's going to happen to me after all this rejection, shifting black, is over?
I felt uneasy the whole time I was there. Not even the view could calm me down! I just needed to stop thinking about this but I didn't know how. Well there was one but he rejected me so that's off the list. I rubbed my temples while trying to absorb the information again.
Susan shifted into a black wolf just like me after her birthday and receiving her mates' rejection which resulted in her disappearing from the pack and making her mate regret his choice in rejecting her.
I hope her mate is suffering.
When the sun started to rise, making the sky golden with a hint of pink, I calmed downed a bit. I would've stayed longer but I was too tired. Shifting into my black wolf, I looked at the pond nearby and tried to get use to the fact that my auburn fur is gone. Heaving a sigh, I picked up my clothing with my teeth and ran back home. I shifted back, wore my clothes and went into the house and headed straight up to my room.
I layed down on my bed, fully clothed and was out like a light as soon as ny head hit my pillow. A few hours later,
my door was slammed open and a voice exclaimed, "Have no fear! Your cousins are here!" I just replied in my half asleep state, "I don't care so shut up." My body was then bounced up and down because Rose sat on my bed roughly as she stated, "Wakie wakie Jess! I have news for you!" I decided to ignore her and attempted to go back to bed only to have her poking at my leg over and over again while saying, "Come on, come on, come on. I know you wanna know. You might as well wake up. Come on, come on, come on." Groaning, I decided to wake up because I knew that at this rate I wouldn't be able to get any sleep at all. I said while sitting up and rubbing my eyes, "It better be good Rose. Or else." Then stared at her hard. She knew what I would do to her so she gulped. She took a deep breath then told me, "Ryder's cousin, Haley, invited me to Ryder's party and said I could invite you guys." I looked at her hard, "You woke me up, to go to a party? Seriously?" She flinched back and said, "I just thought you wanted a distraction after what happened with Carter." I said while shrugging, "He made his choice and I'm fine with it. He can go fuck other girls for all I care, which I don't." I then looked at Rose and Christian, not wanting to ruin their mood, said with a heavy heart, "All right. I'll go." Then Rose started squealing in excitement while me and Christian just rolled our eyes. Since I had slept till evening, I had to get ready after I woke up. Sighing, I went to my bathroom after Rose and Christian left my room to ransack the kitchen. After taking a shower, I went to my closet and picked out a black tanktop with blue skinny jeans with my converse and beanie. I wore grandad's dogtag, now with gran's locket and the bracelet mom and dad gave me and walked out of room. "Where are you guys heading?" dad asked when he saw us heading towards the front door. "We're going to a party at Ryder's house." explained Christian. Dad just nodded his head and stated, "Have fun. And no getting drunk!" We all chuckled then headed out but was stopped by my dad as he cam back with a pair of keys in his hand.

"She's right outside love. Don't ruin her!" Then he walked away while I stared at him in bewilderment. I decided to just check what was outside and my eyes widened in shock! There sitting on my driveway, was a silver Audi! I quickly ran towards the drivers seat and breathed in the new car smell. "I really hate you sometimes Jess." said Christian while looking around the interior of the car. I chuckled and said sarcastically, "Sure you do. But come on. We'll just run to Ryder's house. I don't have a license yet so she's gonna have to stay put for now." Both of them groaned but got out of the car. I went back inside placed my car keys on the key rack then went outside to see a dark red wolf and a grey wolf shaking their fur or sitting patiently. I said, "Just couldn't wait could ya?" The grey wolf, Christian, just grunted in reply. Rolling my eyes at him, I went behind the tree and stripped. Just as I was about to shift, I suddenly remembered that I was a pure black wolf now. Deciding to ignore the feeling of nervouseness in my heart, I shifted and walked out calmly. Both Rose and Christian turned to look at me and their eyes widened in shock.
Rose mindlinked me and asked, "What happened to your auburn fur?" I simply replied, "I'll tell you next time." Then adding Christian in the mindlinked, "Let's go!" After picking up our clothes with our teeth, we were off. Since we were near Kya's house, I decided to ask if she wanted to come. I howled outside her backyard and she came out a few minutes later. "What's up Jess?" I explained all through mindlink and she shook her head quick. "No way am I gonna be in the same room as that prick." she said aloud. I then explained that if she went she could see it as a way of getting use to the rejection. She stood there while contemplating what I just said and sighed in defeat. She nodded then went back in the house to change in a cream long sleeved dress that was long in the front and bottom but short at the sides, brown pants and dark brown boots. After she shifted into her light brown wolf, she picked up her clothes with her teeth and we were off once again.

When we arrived, we shifted back and wore our clothes. As we went inside the house, the party was already in full swing. As we made our way to the table laden with food and drinks, I noticed that Kya stopped walking and froze up. I placed my hand on her shoulder, "What's up K?" I asked. She replied, "Ryder has a girl all over him to our left." I turned my head slightly to the left and sure enough, there he was with a blonde girl in a red tube top dress trying to get his attention. I turned back to Kya and said while trying to comfort her, "Ignore him K. You'll be fine." She turned to me and smiled gratefully. I nodded my head as she went to get a drink while I sat down on the stairs and looked at my surroundings.
Bodies were flushed against one another as they grinded against each other. Make out sessions were held at every corner, couch, wall, even on the tables. I looked at it all in disgust and stood up to get a drink. I had just reached the table when I sniffed out Carter's scent. I gritted my teeth, telling myself to not turn around and find him but of course the inner wolf inside me was giving a hard time. My back stiffened as I heard his voice get nearer. "I am not interested Cassie so back off!" I heared a seductive voice say, "But Carter! I can bring you into heights you've never experienced." I heard him growl then suddenly he stopped. I decided to quickly pour myself a drink and turn around to just walk away without looking at him. Of course, as I turned around my eyes decided to look up and my heart winced in pain at what I saw. I guess he changed his mind after he rejected her offer because there he was against the wall with Cassie devouring his lips. That scene caused my wolf to whimper at the sight and made tears misted my eyes. I slammed my drink on the table and stomped away to get some fresh air.
As soon as I stepped out of that stuffy house, I leaned the back of my head against the wall and took a deep breath of the air with silence there as a whisper. I crossed my left arm across my chest while placing my right elbow on top and put my forehead in my right hand. "It's not what it looked like Jesse." said a soft voice.
I groaned quietly and replied, "Whatever Carter. You can be with who you want any time of day or place. You just can't be with me. Goodbye Carter."
Then I took off.
I didn't know where I planned to go. I just knew I needed to be away from my rejected mate.

ARMOR
I was created as the ultimate dungeon trap: a living suit of armor that devours any adventurer who dons me. My master created me for his entertainment, leading adventurers to ruin and betraying them at the last moment. This time will be no different. Or so I thought. Now I'm living the life of an adventurer. Hopefully, my companions won't realize I'm not who, or what, they think I am. *Now updating Tuesdays and Thursdays Additional tags I couldn't include: Romantic subplot This story is meant to be a book rather than a serial, there will eventually be an ending. It is also my first book length work so while I intend to do my best, mistakes and issues will occur.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.

A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
