《Whatever》Chapter 15

I ran and ran as fast as I could until I stopped and just sat down on the forest floor and leaned against a tree with my heart broken in a million pieces. I should've known this would happened! Mom got rejected when she was my age! What made me think that I would be any different? I took a deep breath in and thumped my head against the tree, calming down my heart.
Whatever.
If he doesn't want me as his mate, then why should I care? It's his choice. No point in crying my heart out and knowing that nothing will change. I stood up slowly, took off my shoes then ran to back to my house and up to my room. I had just stepped through my door, when I smelt his scent which made me look up to find him sitting on my window seat and staring at me. I replied while walking to where my closet was, "I, Jesse Anderson, accept your rejection." Then closed it and locked it firmly. I unzipped the dress and went to use a dark blue singlet with a black crop top, dark blue jeans, my black and white converse and grabbed my beanie before unlocking and walking out of my closet. He was still sitting there but now stood up and asked, "You're not going to ask why?" I just replied while shrugging, "Not that it matters anyway. Now get the hell out of my room." I said the last part in a firm tone then went to the bathroom to wipe the make up off my face and to undo my hair. After that, when I came out of my room, he wasn't there anymore but in his place, a single red rose was there with a note. I went over there and read the note which only had the words,
'Forgive me love.'
I flinched as I read it and just threw it away. Rose and all. I don't want or need his pity nor sympathy. He can go take it elsewhere. I took my board and went downstairs. I stopped and stared infront of the dinning room to see everyone including Carter, mingling with each other. I walked away quickly to head to my ramp and saw Kya, Rose and Christian playing it already.

"Took you long enough Jess!" shouted Rose while grinning. I climbed the built in ladder and stood there next to Kya, board in hand. I smiled seeing my cousins on the other side of the ramp. Rose shouting that Christian can't do it, and Christian riding the ramp without a care in the world, to show her that he was the king of the ramp.
"Woo!" shouted Christian, nailing a caballerial. While he was making tricks, I shouted, "Finally nailed it I see!" Back in the summer, I taught him how to do the caballerial but he kept messing it up. Guess he improved. I smirked at him as he landed back on his side of the ramp and said, "My turn." Then I skated down the ramp and did a mctwist. It wasn't easy learning this trick. It took me about 2 months I think to learn mctwist. After that, all of us just skated down the ramp and did the tricks we knew.
This moment, right here, with my bestfriend and cousins, it was the best feeling. And the best part was, we were all skateboarding. We loved the rush and thrill of learning new tricks and trying them out on the board. Nothing could possible ruin this moment.
Can it?
Guess I spoke to soon because Carter and Cameron came to join us. I suddenly lost the mood to play and just sat there cross-legged on the ramp with my born on my lap. "Done playing Jesse?" asked Cameron while grinning. I shrugged and said, "Pretty much." Then he asked while smirking, "Bet you just didn't want to show that you sucked playing the ramp." I heard a growl from somewhere but ignored it and replied in a bored tone, "If I don't show you my tricks on the ramp, that just means you will not be able to handle it." Cameron whistled then asked with a glint in his eye, "Then how about you teach me in private. Just the two of us?" I got up then stated bluntly, "I'd rather jump off a cliff then go on a date with the likes of you."

Kya and my cousins started saying, "Oh! Get wrecked!" And with that, I climbed down the ramp and as I was walking away, I turned back and stated while looking at Carter directly, "That goes for you too." Then I walked away from everyone and went back to where the party was.
A while later, almost all the teenagers were out having fun on the ramp while I just stayed in and mingled around with the adults. I was talking to Carter's parents when I heard a commotion outside. I ran out and followed the noise to the ramp and saw Carter fighting with Cameron.
I moved through the crowd and when I got to the front, Carter punched him right on the nose which made Cameron fall back while clutching it.
"What the hell Carter!" I shouted then went to where Cameron was and asked him, "Does it hurt?" Before he could answer, Carter pulled me into his arms and stated with a growl, his eyes black, "Stay away from my mate!"
The crowd gasp and silence fell making the situation awkward, tense. I wrestled out of his grip and when I was free I shouted furiously, "I am, nor will I ever be your mate! You rejected me asshole!" I growled out, my eyes turning black as well. "You have no right to say I'm your mate so why don't you just accept what you said and get over it!" Carter's eyes turned back to their normal colour and he looked at me sadly but then he walked away with his pack mates, away from the party.
"All right! Party is over guys! Hope to see you guys soon!" shouted my mom. As she led the guests away, my dad mindlinked me, "Come to my study after you placed your gifts in your room." I looked around for my dad and saw him talking to mom. When he caught my eye, I nodded my head then went back to the house to place my gifts in my room.
It wasn't much really since not many of my pack members know what to get for me as they don't know me that well. But, them attending the party was a gift enough. I dreaded the last gift that was left on the table because it reeked of Carter's scent. I placed his gift on my bookshelf and vowed to never open it.
No matter how tempting it was.
I went out of my room and went to where my dad's office was with a heavy heart. I bet they're gonna talk about what happened just now. It's so obvious. What else could there be to talk about?
I knocked on the door and closed shut then went to sit in one of the chairs facing dad's desk. Mom and dad were behind the desk as they looked at me seriously and said, "Jess, we called you here because," I took a deep breath waiting for the answer but was taken aback with what they told me,
"Your dad, gran, me, Aunt Jo, Aunt Alexa, Uncle Derek, Uncle Logan and baby Leo will be going on a cruise next week so Rose and Christian will be staying here with you."
I looked at them with wide eyes and said,
"What?"

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
