"Dad?" Carter looked at me with his eyes filled with astonishment. I just looked at my dad and waited for his answer.
"Well, um you see what actually happened was," he said uncomfortably while squirming. "Danny? Jesse? What's going on here? Why are you home so early? What did you do this time Jesse?" My mom came in and asked when she saw us in my dad's study.
I looked back at her while staring at her straight in the eyes and asked, "You tell me. When were you gonna tell me this party had guests from other packs?" Mom flushed and looked at me with guilt. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
So much for a small get together.
Why are they making my birthday such a big deal? Is it because of the whole mate thing? I growled in annoyance and said quietly, "Carter. Alpha Daniel. Alpha Daniel. Carter. Have fun." And with that said, I turned and walked away.
"Jesse, wait!" I shivered when I heard Carter say my name but ignored it and went straight to my room. I locked it and approached my balcony, swinging my legs on to the railing and looking at the view.
Why can't they just see that I'm not the birthday kind? Having close friends and family is enough. But my heart didn't feel satisfied with that.
Then, I thought of Carter.
When I think of him there, it feels right, perfect. Knowing that he's there is what makes everything worth while. I rubbed my face and shook the thought from my head.
Why am I getting so wrapped up about Carter? I just met him! This is just too weird. I was just busy contemplating on what I felt about him when,

"Jess? You ok?" he asked with a quiet voice. I got off the railing and went to unlock the door. "I'm fine." I mumbled while flushing red. I was just thinking about him and here he is.
Awkward much?
"May I come in?" he asked. I just stepped away from the door and sat on my bed, cross-legged. Carter awkwardly sat on the window seat on the left side of my bed. "Cool bedroom you have here Jess. What's with the mural?" He asked while staring at it in curiosity.
I said while sighing at the memory, "My mom and dad thought I would be a boy because when they checked for my gender when I was in the womb, the doctor said I was a boy. So with that knowing, they assumed I would be a black wolf like my dad. But 9 months later, they got a baby girl instead of a boy."
"But, how can they tell that you would be a black wolf?" he asked while staring at me intently. "I asked that too. Turns out on my dad's side of the family when you have a boy it will be a black wolf because the past generations of boys were all black wolves. The girls, well that's a different story." I explained while lying down on my bed.
"How did the doctor mistaken you as a boy? Did you have a dick that somehow 'fell off' while your mom was giving birth to you?" I chuckled and replied sarcastically, "Yes I have a dick that can be put on or taken off anytime I please so that I can be a boy and a girl." He smirked, "So, can I see your dick then?" I stiffened and got up from my position then turned to look at him with shock.

"Pervert!" I yelled while throwing a pillow at him. He just chuckled at caught it easily. "Now, now, don't have to be feisty now do we?" I rolled my eyes and replied with annoyance, "Tch, troublesome boy."
"I'm not a boy." he replied while glaring at me. I smirked and replied, "So, you're saying you're a girl?" He growled at me playfully then jumped on me on my bed.
"Carter! Get off you dipshit!" I shouted while struggling to break free. "Nah, I kinda like this position." I froze and stared at our position.
Fuck me.
He was straddling me. In a blink of an eye, Carter was off me and was flushing red with embarassment. He was mumbling, "No. Damn it. Why?"
I couldn't catch most of what he was saying but he was looking very amusing from my point of view. It's not all the time you see an Alpha acting like this.
They only act like this with their mate. His mate is sure gonna have to control his needs. I chuckled at the thought. "What's so funny?" he asked while staring at me confusingly.
I just replied while smirking, "Woe betide your testosterone levels troublesome boy."
