《Whatever》Chapter 8

"I am not a boy." Carter said while falling into step with me. I shrugged and said while smirking, "You're not a man either." He stopped walking so I looked back at him as he gasped and said in the most pathetic girl voice I have ever heard in my life, "You're a meanie!"
I laughed and replied, "So? That seems like me." He glared at me playfully and then there was complete silence. I continued walking with him following, enjoying the comfortable silence.
"Mind giving me a tour of your territory? I'm still new here." I replied while shrugging, "Sure." He smiled and led the way to his black Maserati. I opened the passenger door as he got into the driver's seat. As soon as I finished buckling up, he turned to me and said while grinning, "Where to first crybaby?"
"I am not a cry baby." I said while scowling and crossing my arms, "Take that back and I'll tell you." He smirked and said, "Alright." I was starting to smile until, "If,".
I looked at him questioningly while asking, "If?" He smirked and said, "You admit I'm a man." I laughed and said, "Fat chance troublesome boy. If you won't drive then let me." He looked at like I was stupid when he said, "Like hell I would let you drive my car!" I mumbled and said, "Men and their cars." I sat up straight and said a bit more clearly, "Just drive alright. Then we'll go to my house and introduce you to my dad."
He looked at me with confusion as he asked, "Why?" I rolled my eyes and just replied, "You'll see."
Then we drove into town. On the way there, I thought about if dad knew that there was another pack here in our territory. If he did he would've told me or he was busy with mom which made him forget. I shivered and was cut from my thoughts when, "Are you cold? I didn't turn on the airconditioning though so I don't see why you should be." He said while looking at me with concern. I smiled reassuringly and said while looking at him, "I'm fine. So, why are you here Carter? Come to find a long lost puppy is it?"He rolled his eyes and said, "Got invited here for an occasion from the Alpha. A birthday for his little girl. Tch, I bet she's just 3 years old. If she is then this is gonna be a drag." I froze at his words and asked quietly while looking down, "What was the Alpha's name?" He replied, "Dude, he's your Alpha. Shouldn't you know?"

I nodded and sat back into my seat while taking this into thought. She didn't. Did she? Oh god, please tell me mom didn't invite every pack she could think of? Just to let me find my mate? I told her that I didn't mind waiting for him. Truth is, I was terrified that since my dad rejected my mom first, my mate will do the same thing.
Shit. I don't know why this is bad but good god I hope that the party he's going to isn't mine. Oh, what am I saying? Of course it's mine! I'm an only child for fucks sakes.
I groaned quietly. Carter then said, "Alright. So where to first crybaby?" I growled at him and got out of his car. When he got out, we walked down the streets of town as I explained which shop was what, where and sold what.
A few hours later, I asked him to drive a bit further from town. "Alright. Park here." He looked at me questioningly and I just rolled my eyes. "Just do it and follow me." I quickly got out of the car and went behing a tree. Just as I was about to take off my shirt, "Oh my god! What the hell do you think you're doing?" I shouted at him with confusion.
He crossed his arms over his chest and said calmly with a little gleam in his eye and a straight face, "You said to follow you. So, I did. You may continue what you were doing." Then he smirked. I glared at him and just went behind another tree farther from him and took off my clothes and undergarments.
Then I shifted into my dark auburn wolf and walked out with my clothes and undergarments which I picked up with my mouth. He looked at me with admiration. He came closer and petted my head. I then headbutted him and pointed my head to the left as if to say, " Go change and shift!" He nodded in understanding and went behing the tree and shifted with his clothes in his mouth. He was a dark brown wolf with a tail that had a sandy tip and he was huge! Not bigger than my dad but you know what I mean.

I then pointed my head forward and ran with him following closely behind. Running. This felt free. No school. No discipline and no rules. Just me and the forest. Including Carter.
Soon we arrived at our destination. I went behind a tree, shifted back and wore my clothes on and walked back out. I turned to Carter and said, "Welcome to my sanctuary." Carter walked behind a tree and I heard him shift back then came out with his clothes on.
"What is this place?" he asked me while sitting down on the grass and taking in what he look. He should. This area is full of trees and only let a bit of sunlight in. It was like the trees had lights in them. There was also a small lake far to the left but my favourite bit was a little bit more forward. "Hold on. There's still more you troublesome boy." I said while laughing and walking forward leading to an amazing view of mountains, valleys and a clear blue sky.
"This is where I always come when something is troubling me. Last I came here was when my mom told me that it was almost my birthday." I said while sitting down cross legged, a bit further from the cliff side. "How is that a problem? Birthdays are the best. It's the one day where everyone pays attention to you. Why'd you bring me here anyway?" Carter replied while sitting close to me. I sighed and said while looking at him, "It's complicated. I'll tell you someday. Maybe. Why I brought you here? Only Fates knows. I just felt the urge to bring you here. I guess I'm trusting you in a way."
He raised his right eyebrow at me and asked, "Why wouldn't you trust me?" I stood up while patting my jeans to get rid of any dust and said, "That's a story to be told on a different day. Come on. Time to meet my parents."
I went behind a tree, took off my clothes, shifted back, picked it up and ran to where his car was and went behind a tree shifted back again, wore my clothes and walked out with Carter following a few seconds later.
We went in the car and drove in silence to my house. We parked on the driveway and I walked toward my house. I turned to look over my shoulder and saw Carter admiring it from where he stood. "Carter! Quit your daydreaming and get your ass in here!" I shouted as I just opened the front door and waited for him to enter.
We went in. As the door slowly closed, I walked to where dad's study is, knocked and opened the door to see him doing some paperwork. "Jesse? What are you doing home so early? What did you do this time? I swear your mom is gonna k-" He looked up. I smiled at him and asked while keeping a straight face.
"Dad, when were you gonna tell me that the party involved other packs?"

Malt the Manslayer
This story does not follow a hero. Malt doesn’t slay dragons with a holy sword nor is he granted immense magical power when he transfers. Unlike his three classmates, he was brought into the new world not as a mythical hero, but with stats comparable if not worse than the average townsfolk. Assaulted by feelings of inadequacy and weakness, he leaves the comfortable castle life that the royalty offered him and decides to help his new country in the only way he thinks he can. By joining the war on the southern border. Not a war against mythical beasts or powerful demons, but against other humans. He thought that he’d finish a single deployment then come back to the castle, proud enough to stand beside his friends again. Little did he know that he’d become one of the most feared fighters on the battlefield, killing so many that he’d earn the moniker, “Malt the Manslayer.”

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

Tryphant Agent's Historical Logs
[Disclaimer: This novel is no longer in continuation since I've found more joy in writing short stories. I'll continue writing about this universe and the world in it, building upon the documents of the Tryphant Agents but in another novel] What is the origin of life? What is the meaning to life? Are we the only intelligent being in this universe? Why haven't we been struct by a catastrophe??? How has the world been so peaceful for such a long time?!!! Is there a hidden force that controls our world from being destroyed?!!! How have we not noticed them!?!!! Am I just delusional??!!!! I'm definetly delusional. These are the questions that mortals often ask and frequently ignore in their life, yet answering these questions will lead a person to the Tryphant Agents. An organization who protects various civiliaztions from destruction time and time again without a single person noticing them. They are an organization that is like time, powerful yet unnoticed. This is the historical logs of the Tryphant Agents. Disclaimer: I'm writing this to fill my world with details and I'm only hoping for this to be a good story. The main core focus is to write characters with life into them, a world where it feels real, and story that is consistent. Don't expect a top tier story because this will be my experimental logs as well where I will try various writing styles. Rather I wish that you hope for a great story instead.
