《Lost and Insecure (ManxBoy)》Chapter 27

I couldn't help but let out a scream as I watched Alexander bite down on his arm to stop himself from taking my blood.

"Alexander, stop!" I begged and tried to get his mouth off of his arm.

He roughly pushed me away causing me to land on the floor. I got up again and tried to stop him from killing himself.

Why would his father do this to him? Alexander doesn't deserve any of this pain..

The door suddenly opened and I turned around to see Max rush in. He frantically moved me away from Alexander and tried to help his brother.

I watched in horror as Max practically clawed Alexander's fangs from his arm with all his strength.

"What is he doing?!" I asked in desperation.

Max continued his actions and for a moment I thought he wasn't going to answer me. "His thirst over took his body so he's basically drinking himself dry without being able to stop." he stated.

Alexander's eyes were glowing in a yellow menacing color and didn't look like the ones that always captivated me. I took a step back and placed my hand over my cut up wrist.

It bled but not as bad as I thought it would. Max finally got Alexander off of his arm and I regretted looking at it afterwards.

It looked like a dog chewed on it and I was scared he was going to bleed to death, but then Max did something I couldn't believe.

He ripped his own vein from his wrist and gave Alexander his own blood. Why did he accept his but not mine?

"Don't look so offended, Luke. Unlike yours, my blood is stronger and I can lose a larger amount of it without dieing. If he takes any of yours you won't be able to stop him from drinking all of it. He's not Alexander at the moment, so take caution." Max told me seriously then yanked his hand back to his side, only giving his brother a small amount of his blood.

Alexander groaned in pain and held his stomach tightly in protest. Max quickly picked him up and placed him over his shoulder not caring if he was being too rough.

"We have to leave before my father gets back!" he rushed out and made his way out of the room.

I followed close behind and immediately fluttered my eyes closed a couple of times from the sudden light. We made it to the top part of his house and were on our way the front door.

"Oh Max, how you have let your father down."

I looked back and saw Alexander's dad on the top steps with crossed arms and a frown on his face, but his eyes were clearly angry.

"What you are doing to Alexander is not what we agreed on! I said you could have him locked up for a couple of days just to scare him, not to threaten him with the human boy and make him start to eat himself!" Max yelled so hard at his father that I could see his veins popping out of his neck.

I hid behind him and watched as Alexander's head weakly looked up to stare at me. His sad eyes were still yellow and his mouth was red all over, along with his sharp looking fangs. I wanted to touch him but I knew better than that.

He was thirsty and if I got close to him he would feel no remorse in biting me. I looked down at my wrist and sighed in relief when it was starting to look better.

"Now Maxy, don't you dare yell at me." Alexander's father taunted like something about calling Max 'Maxy' would upset him.

"Mama.." I heard Alexander whimper in Max's shoulder.

Why was he calling out for his mother? Was it a name Alexander's mom gave Max?

"Don't you dare mock her, you piece of shit!" Max yelled back, proving my point about his mom.

Alexander's father laughed so mockingly it made me get shivers all the way down to my spine. I watched as he walked down the steps in a very slow threatening manner.

I wanted to run out the door immediately but seeing Alexander so hurt was keeping me in place.

"Why does it bother you so much, Maxy? We all know she wasn't your real mother. She only loved Alexander and only him. You were just the damned child she had to raise because of my affair!"

I gasped in surprise at hearing the truth about Alexander and Max. I always thought they were actual brothers? When Alexander said Max was his step-brother I thought he said it to joke around..

Max stayed silent as Alexander continued to groan in pain on his shoulder. I leaned over and gently wiped his sweaty forehead. He looked up at me and I realized he was to weak to even try to hurt me.

So as Max argued with his father, I got closer to Alexander and wiped his dirty mouth with my hand as best as I could. I ran my fingers through his messy wavy hair and tried to get it out of his face.

Alexander looked at me the whole time as I was touching him, and I swear I saw the corner of his mouth go up when I pressed a gentle kiss on his red lips.

All of a sudden Max was pushed out of the way causing him to land hard on the ground along with Alexander. Both brothers were down while I stood with their father right in front of me with a creepy smile.

"All of this is your fault. You made my son go against me and I should of killed you the moment I saw you." he spit in my face with disgust.

I swallowed hard and dug my nails into my palm to stop myself from shaking in fear. I wanted to look at Alexander or Max but I couldn't keep my eyes off of the red ones glaring at me.

Max quickly got up and pushed his father away from me. Soon they were both on the ground fighting while Alexander couldn't even get up from the floor without falling back down.

I can tell he was coming back to being himself by the way he tried to gather enough strength to help his brother. His eyes were fading from yellow to their original brightness.

Max was then thrown across the room, hitting his whole body on the wall. He landed on the floor and looked like he was in severe pain.

His father approached me again but this time quickly tried to cut my face with his sharp nails but I shielded myself with my arms.

It was now a natural relex for me since living in the orphanage.

A stinging pain erupted throughout my arm causing me to cry out in pain. I looked down on it and saw a huge gash on it. Dark red blood dripped violently down on the floor causing me to place my hand over the wound.

I could feel the blood slip through my fingers and it scared me at how fast it was rushing out.

Max still couldn't get up and I turned to look at Alexander but he wasn't in his spot. I looked around for him and my eyes expanded when he violently attacked his father only inches away from me.

He bit down on his neck and took chunks after chunks of his flesh until it looked like his head was balanced on nothing. Alexander looked like a mad man.

I watched in shock as his father died with wide eyes, like he couldn't believe what his own son did to him or that the fact thate he actually got killed..

His body fell in a pool of thick blood while Alexander wobbly stood in trembling legs. His eyes were bright yellow again and as he approached me with a blank stare, I feared what he was going to do.

I stood my ground and shivered when I felt his forehead lean against mine. He deeply looked at me and I stared back. His lips hovered above mine and I thought for a moment he was going to kiss me.

"I love you, Luke." was all he said before he fell to the ground unconscious.

I panicked and kneeled down to see if he was still breathing. Only small gasps escaped his mouth and I looked for Max in hurry.

He was walking towards us with a broken leg but he was determined to help Alexander. "Help me get him up. We need to get him back to his house as quickly as possible." he stated.

I helped him carry Alexander all the way outside and inside his car that was still parked outside. Max drove in pain with his broken leg as I sat on the back seat with Alexander.

His head was on my lap and I tried to wake him up but nothing would work. I begged and prayed he wasn't dead..

We made it back to Alexander's house in record time and everything felt like it was happening in slow motion. Alexander was rushed inside the house and into a room that looked like a hospital.

Nana cried as she entered the room and saw Alexander being worked on by maids who seemed to know what they were doing.

"Luke, you have to stay outside! Alexander is in critical condition!" Nana instructed me and pushed me out of the room.

I stayed frozen in front of the door and heard Nana yelling instructions to the maids about grabbing a bags of blood from a fridge.

Max was being helped in another room and I was glad that he was. I felt my shirt suddenly wet so I looked over and saw my cut still bleeding out. I definitely needed stitches but it seemed all the maids were occupied with Alexander.

I walked downstairs and bumped into James. He was running up the steps and had a frown on his face.

"Luke! I'm glad to see you. Have you heard anything about Alexander?" he questioned out of breath.

"The maids are helping him but they kicked me out of the room before I could see anything else." I replied.

James nodded and glanced at my arm. "You're bleeding! Let me try to help you before you bleed out." he stated and guided me downstairs.

He placed me in a chair and rushed to get some medical equipment. Angel and Robert then entered the room both in deep conversation.

I was happy they were okay and had minor bandages on them. Once they saw me they smiled in pure happiness. I was then quickly squished in a tight hug.

"Luke we thought you were officially dead! How are you? Are you hurt? That cut looks pretty bad." Angel rushed out and inspected my bleeding arm.

"Move out of the way guys. I got some things to close his wound." James announced and got between Angel and Robert.

"Here I'll do it. He needs stitches so I doubt any of you know how to do it properly." Robert stated while rolling his eyes and kneeled in front of me.

I watched as he disinfected his hands first then took out the things he needed to stitch my wound closed. "Luke, I'm going to give you some medicine so you won't feel the pain, okay?" Robert assured and handed me two small white pills.

I nodded and swallowed them with a gulp of water that Angel got from the kitchen. I removed my hand from my cut and felt sick when I saw how quickly my wound bleeded.

Robert quickly got down to work once I didn't feel any pain. I relaxed a little and turned my head away so I wouldn't see Robert stitching my arm.

I looked up the stairs and wondered how Alexander was doing. James left to check on him not too long ago and so far hasn't been back to assure me he was okay.

"Don't worry, Luke. Alexander is strong. He'll be fine." Angel tried to comfort beside me.

I smiled and believed his words but neither of us knew Alexander was upstairs fighting for his life...

...

It was dead silent as I ate my dinner alone...

The house seemed like it was filled with nothing but sadness and depression. Nobody spoke and the maids walked around with deep bags under their eyes. They all looked tired and depressed.

Nana would not come out of her room and I knew she was crying because Alexander's bedroom was right beside hers. It broke my heart to hear such a sweet old woman cry so brokenly.

She really did love Alexander like her own child...

I took a small sip of my cold water and couldn't help but keep glancing up to see the lonely chair across from me.

Alexander's chair was never empty when we ate together so it was difficult not seeing him there. My eyes were already tired and puffy from crying but somehow more hot tears escaped down my cheeks.

But I continued to force the food provided for me down my throat, since I knew Alexander would be upset if I let myself starve.

I pushed away the empty bowl and a maid soon came over and picked it up, but not before giving me a sad smile.

I got up from my seat and walked up the dusty stairs that was no longer being vacuumed by Nana. It seems the house was representing the pain everybody was feeling..

I made my way through the dark hallway and stopped in front of the tall door. I wanted to open it but I just couldn't since I knew what I was going to see.

I took a deep breath and held back my tears as I opened the door and entered the quiet room. I glanced at the bed in the center of the room and saw my handsome Alexander sleeping.

I sat beside his bed and looked down at his familiar sleeping form. It's only been two weeks but it still feels like yesterday when Nana cried to me that Alexander was on life support and wouldn't wake up..

All that kept repeating in my head were his last words.

'I love you, Luke.'

I wasn't going to give up on him and I knew it wouldn't be the last time I would hear him say those simple words, that made me love him even more.

How in the world did I go from trying to run away to not being able to live without him?

I caressed Alexander's thin cheek and smiled at the stuble on his chin. Tears welled in my eyes as I saw so many machines attached to him.

He wasn't breathing on his own and I knew deep down the reality of the situation but I still kept hoping it wasn't true..

"Alexander...wake up...please." I whispered by his ear, just praying he would hear me.

My hot tears landed on him and soon I was a sobbing mess on his chest. I begged and begged for him to wake up and just couldn't handle the pain I felt anymore.

Since the day Alexander saved me, I always thought he was invincible but I was starting to be proven wrong.

"Alexander, I'm begging you!" I cried out.

A maid quickly entered the room and tried to make me leave. "Luke, calm down! You're going to hurt Alexander!" she frantically told me.

I got out of her aggressive hold and ran back to Alexander's side. I hugged his torso and continued to cry on the chest that always comforted me when I was upset..

"Nana! I need you!" the maid yelled as she left the room in a hurry.

I just wanted to see Alexander's bright eyes that always glowed like stars when he stared at me. I needed to it so bad.

My heart ached like needles were stabbing it and my eyes wouldn't stop filling with tears. Even though I have suffered so much in my life, I have never felt pain this bad..

The man or should I say the vampire that saved me from an evil world was now so fighting for his life and I had no way of helping him.

I wiped my wet face and runny nose a couple of times before feeling numb all over. I just stared down at Alexander and finally accepted what everybody has been telling me.

'He's already gone..'
