《Lost and Insecure (ManxBoy)》Chapter 15

My fangs ripped through the thin veins in less than a second, causing thick blood to fill my mouth.
I swallowed the rich, red liquid down in huge gulps. I sucked harder on my victim's neck and filled my thirst.
My anger and frustration was now in control of me so I felt no sympathy for the young girl. She should of known better than to walk these streets this time at night.
I dropped her lifeless body on the ground and didn't bother to wipe my bloody mouth. The girl was my fifth victim this night and I still felt like killing.
After searching the whole town for my pretty white haired boy and not finding him anywhere made me crazy.
He must of really hated me if he went the great length to skip town and move far away from me.
I walked through the now empty alleyway where I always saw Luke pass by and continued to hope he would return.
It's been a month now and I had no clues or ideas as to where he might be. I was completely lost at this point..
I walked home in the complete darkness and made sure to wipe my mouth before I entered my house.
Nana was cleaning the carpet on the stairs and stopped once she saw me. I passed by her without a word and felt her following me all the way to my room.
I didn't bother to close the door because I knew she was behind me. Once we were both alone in my room I let my walls come down completely.
I fell on my bed and buried my face into my pillow. I yelled into it and felt my lungs and throat burn at the rough action.
Nana sat beside me and ran her fingers through my hair to calm me down. My body immediately relaxed with her touch and I let out a heavy breath.
I had bags under my eyes from the nights I stayed up looking for Luke and I'm pretty sure I lost weight in the process from my lack of appetite.
I was tired physically and mentally.
The room was quiet as Nana hummed the familiar 'birdy' song she always did when I was ready to cry. I turned my head towards her and felt like nothing has changed.
'Oh where..Oh where... is my birdy today?
I love him so much I just want to lock him away..

But I want the world to see him fly..
So I let him go and smiled as he flew by..'
I smiled at the woman in front of me and closed my heavy eyes. Memories of my childhood rush to my head with the times Nana comforted me when my father killed an innocent person downstairs.
Or when my father would hit me if I tried to help Max when he would get punished.
"I need him..." I practically cried to Nana and placed my head on her lap. She stroked my forehead lightly and sighed.
"I know you do." she simply replied.
"Why would he leave me?" I questioned.
Nana stayed silent for a couple of seconds, "Maybe he didn't." she stated.
I looked up at her confused, "What do you mean?"
"It was obvious that boy lived in the streets so don't you wonder why he did? That young boy was shy but I could see he had strong feelings for you. Even though he looked much younger than eighteen." Nana replied.
Does age really matter right now? Not really.
I had a feeling Luke was young but that never stopped me from touching his body and kissing him.
"I have a feeling Luke might be in trouble, Alexander."
I lifted myself off of Nana's lap and finally realized something.
What if Luke didn't runaway from me and instead was hurt somewhere? Or worse somebody kidnapped him?
How could I let my emotions take over my common sense!
"Do you know what that means Nana!? Luke needs me and I'm here being a fucking baby when I should be searching for my white haired boy!" I exclaimed and rushed out of bed.
I paced back and forth thinking of any ideas or clues as to what I should do.
"Did Luke ever talk about his past? Give you any signs that he had hatred towards anybody?" Nana questioned and stood beside me trying to help me figure out who would try to hurt Luke.
I thought deeply about it and remembered the time Luke threw up and started to cry. I never questioned him about it but I heard his sobs.
He seemed scared like I would hurt him for throwing up and I thought it was weird.
I told Nana about it and she frowned at the confession.
"It seems some serious abuse has been done to that poor boy. You need to find him quickly Alexander or I fear he might be in some serious danger." Nana warned causing me to worry even more.

There was no way I would be able to find Luke on my own because I knew nothing about his past. I needed somebody to help me and I new the right person for the job.
This man was the only one my father ever respected and saw as a close friend. He had the power to find people by their scent so I was more than positive he would find Luke.
I needed the great and powerful vampire that I have respected even as a child.
Baldrick.

...
"Sir, your guest has arrived."
I quickly got up from my chair and rushed out of my office. I walked downstairs and saw the only person that would help me find Luke.
Baldrick had his arms crossed behind his back as he looked around. He wore his usual menacing eyes and irritated face expression. As a child I always thought Baldrick was handsome with his sharp jawline and nicely combed hair.
Once he saw me he bowed his head a little and approached me.
"Such a beautiful home... too bad you must keep your human meat locked away." he stated like he knew everything about my house.
He must of smelled the foul odor of death coming out my personal room.
"Thank you for coming, Baldrick. I really need your help." I told him, but made sure I didn't sound desperate.
I didn't want him to know I was looking for Luke because I liked him. He would probably see me as weak if I did so.
"Ah yes, you need help finding your little human boy." he replied with an amused smile like he thought it was funny.
"Yes, I do. I need to find him as soon as possible, so can you help me? Money won't be an issue I promise you that." I said and guided him up to my office.
We walked inside and I sat down in my spot as he decided to stand instead.
"Consider this a favor, Alexander. I need something that belonged to the boy if you want me to find him as soon as possible." he said seriously.
I got up from my seat and went to my room. I looked for the clothes Luke wore when I brought him here. I was going to burn the torn down clothing but I've been too busy and now I was happy I didn't.
I finally saw his shirt and picked it up before I returned back to my office. I handed it over to Baldrick but he declined it.
"I can smell it from here. Definitely a boy living in the streets. Now I must leave, I will be back when I figure out where your human boy is." Baldrick stated then left without another word.
A part of me felt relaxed that I was finally going to find Luke, but another part of me feared it would be too late and he would be dead somewhere.
After three painful hours of waiting and waiting for any word from Baldrick I finally heard a knock on my door.
I opened it and saw Baldrick again.
"Now before I say anything I must say you look like your father each and every day. " he said and inspected my face.
I really didn't care about that at the moment. I just wanted to know where Luke was and if he was still alive!
"I can see the irritation in your face from my lack of information. You glare at me the same way Lorenzo does when he's angry at me." he informs with a slight chuckle.
I almost forgot that his son, Lorenzo, was half vampire. Everybody knew the story about his dark days when he went on a bloody rampage. Now I remember that Lorenzo married a human boy and settled down without a problem from Baldrick.
My insecurites about liking Luke were now gone and now I was not so worried about confessing my liking towards him.
"The good news is that I did find him."
I was brought back from my thoughts with Baldrick's voice so I listened closely to what he was about to say.
"What's the bad news?.." I questioned, nervous about what it might be.
Baldrick let out a heavy sigh and stared at me as he spoke.
"He's in an orphanage locked away by none other than Mother Gabby. The oldest witch to still feed off of children..."
I stood shocked at the news given to me. Now there was no doubt in my mind that Luke needed me.
There was no way in hell I was going to let some witch take him from me so easily...
