___________
"Hand over the box," Sara's voice broke through Darhk's meeting with the Russians. They all stood in a line as they approached the meeting, with the russians and Darhk all turning to face them.
"And the kick-ass CD-ROM," Nate joked, looking at the disc that Darhk was holding in his hands along with the small black box they desperately needed.
"What is this?" Darhk yelled, getting annoyed as his exchange partners all started yelling at him in Russian.
"He thinks we're working with Darhk," Nate supplied to the team, ignoring the fact they had all swallowed translators previously.
"Never," Callie scoffed, swinging the bow off her back. She had picked it up on their way to intercept Darhk.
"No one has to get hurt," Sara tried to reason, but they all knew Darhk wasn't having that.
"That's not really my style. Now, we can waste time chit-chatting, or you can deal with the explosive my people have secreted inside the State Dining Room. See, in about six minutes, Reagan, Gorbachev, and every hope of peace goes kaboom! I am sorry... inconvenient, I know, but try being me," Darhk chuckled quickly managing to duck out of the room as the fighting kicked off.
Callie found herself seeing red, the bloodlust taking over as she thought about the man escaping. She caught on to Todd and Amaya charging after the man, and she followed. There was no way he was going to get away with anymore killing when she had the chance to end it there and then.
She caught up just as Amaya caught Todd from the gunshot wound that Darhk had just inflicted upon him.
The platinum haired man turned to look at Callie with a sick grin across his face. He knew exactly who this girl was now, and there was major plans for her.
She lunged, but she had forgotten that he had also gone through the same training she once had. He easily pinned her against his chest as he pressed the barrel of his gun to her forehead. She was still seeing red, but her bloodlust was fading from his touch - similar to how it had for Thea when he had powers.
"I know you now. My source told me all about you, Miss Merlyn," Damien said, a sick smirk forming across his face as he studied the girl before him. "That fire in your eyes, all the burning hatred you have for me - it means nothing. The way your skin is crawling from my very touch, the pounding in your ears and the clouded judgement only means one thing. The Lazarus Pit can affect us all in different ways, but you? Oh, Merlyn, it's going to ruin you," he continued, his grasp on her tight as he waited for someone else to challenge him.
She struggled against him, but his words had taken a hit on her and she couldn't quite manage to think as clearly as usual. What a tragedy, she thought, that a trained assassin was having a mind block when there was a loaded gun held to her head.
"HEY!"
Sara jumped out from behind Todd and Amaya, raising her arm and throwing a sharp star blade straight into Darhk's hand. He hissed in pain, but it only caused him to tighten his grip on Callie as she tried to push off him. The cold barrel of the gun touching her forehead caused her to stop - she knew he would not hesitate to blow her brains right there and then.

"You and I have met before. New York City, 1942. You haven't aged a bit. Lazarus Pit?" Darhk questioned, chuckling as Sara continued to move towards him with a look of utter fury in her eyes. "Oh, woman of mystery. You might want to stop there before this one feels the coldness of a lead bullet," he paused, waiting for Sara to stop walking. "I know that look in your eye, though. That's the look of someone that I've taken everything from."
"Not everything." Sara's voice broke her out of her flashback. "You haven't taken my soul, which I've already lost, and I'm not eager to do again. And that's why I'm sparing your life." She summarised, Callie's eyebrows shooting up in disbelief at Sara's decision.
"How merciful of you," Darhk laughed, a wide smirk spreading across his face as he thought about how easy it would be to kill them all if this was what they were like.
"I'm sparing you to prolong your suffering. 'Cause I'm from the future, Damien, and I know how this all ends. Your ark, your grand vision. Just as you're about to accomplish everything you desire, your wife is murdered, the love of your life. And in total despair, you even try to kill your own daughter. An entire city rises up against you, and then you die... defeated and alone," Sara finished, causing his smirk to drop and his hold on Callie to tighten back up.
The man pulled back the hammer of the gun as a counter statement to the threat that Sara had just made to him. The blonde faltered for a second before Callie swung around and punched Darhk straight in the face, haven broken from his hold. He stumbled back, grabbing on to his jaw in shock.
Just as Sara went to attack, there was a flash of red that sent Sara stepping backwards and Callie went flying on to the ground beneath them. Darhk was gone - but this provided them with a shocking revelation.
"What happened? Where's Darhk?" Nate asked, jogging round the corner to meet the assassins.
"He took him. The time traveler working against us... He's a speedster." Sara said, sharing a shocked look with Callie.
"Like the Flash?"
"Faster," Sara agreed.
"So the speedster and Darhk, they have whatever the KGB gave Darhk?" Nate asked, sighing as he realised they were a step behind again.
"Unless..." Sara paused for a second, a small smirk forming on her face.
"Unless?" He questioned before turning to look at where Sara's line of sight had gone.
"I swiped it off Darhk," Callie grinned, holding the small black box in the air. Nate broke into a grin as he looked at her.
"Shut up. Can I hug you? Do we hug?"
"No." Callie stated, no intention of touching the man.
"Callie!" Sara scolded and she rolled her eyes before allowing Nate to hug her.
"Okay, just this once."
"There's gonna be more!"
"I will kill you."
________
"So I get why you let Darhk go, but why are you suddenly not calling for his death anymore?" Nate asked, directing the opening of his sentence to Sara but then turning the questioning part of it to Callie. The team was gathered around the main part of the ship where they usually had their debriefings.

"Sara reminded me of the suffering he was yet to go through. And as selfish as it is, I think the death he was rewarded in 2016 was something that he'll realise he brought on himself. It'll be like looking into his past and seeing everything he's done all over again but with a new meaning now," she started, a fire building within her as she remembered the events of his death.
"I thought Oliver killed him," Nate softly spoke, understanding the look in her eyes wasn't just from someone who had watched the man die. The team all shared looks as Nate said this, unaware that Callie may have actually been the one to have killed the man.
"Wait, he didn't? Callie?" Sara suddenly voiced, the room dropping in temperature as they all turned to look at Callie. Her eyes were darkened, and everyone knew this was something she had hoped she would never really need to talk about. There was an anxious feeling in the air at the thought of Sara not knowing that it was Callie who avenged her sister in the future.
"He was going to. But I saw him, Darhk, there, on his knees smirking. The damn git was smirking. After everything he had done to my city, to my friends, to me. I had stood there while he used my arrow to kill my best friend," Callie started, her voice and body trembling as she recounted the night that they had finally vanquished Damien Darhk.
"Callie..." Amaya started, but she was ignored by Callie. The girl didn't want to hear the pity and sympathy that plagued her voice as she realised what the girl had been put through.
"So I looked at Oliver and he looked straight back at me, knowing that I needed it more than him. He had loved Laurel the same as I had, just in a different way. This was like losing Tomny all over again. Oliver had never been one to kill, but I? I'd tried to wean myself off it. But he deserved it more than anyone I've ever encountered in my life," Callie continued, remembering the moment that Oliver had told Darhk there was no choice in killing him. How he had passed the arrow to her, but she had thrown it aside and taken a specific one out of her sling.
"It was you," Sara breathed, fully understanding now that Callie had been the one to kill Darhk and not Oliver like she had thought for so long had been the case.
"I took the arrow, the exact one he had used to kill Laurel - and I slammed it straight into his body. The Darhk I knew in 2016 had more power than the one you all know. Here, he is powerless. At some point between now and 2016, he gets powers. He kills thousands of people with those powers, and that's why we couldn't stop him from killing her. He literally had frozen us in place, forcing us to see what killed her. So it was perfectly suited, for him to die in such a human way," She finished, looking up to see all of the team with tears in their eyes. Mick tried to hide the small welling in his eyes, but he felt sorry for the girl.
"That's why you wanted him dead," Stein muttered, a horrible realisation on his face as he thought about how he had told her she was being stupid and pathetic by holding a grudge on him.
Callie made eye contact with Sara, the blonde not even trying to hide the tears that were streaming down her face.
"I don't regret it. I'll never regret it. But it's my face he'll remember. And I sure as hell hope he doesn't forget it."
_______
The taste of the cold beer was refreshing against Callie's lips. This was becoming a familiar situation for her now; ending up wrapped in Sara's arms any time they were alone and separated from the team.
It was new and exciting. It was exhilarating.
There had always been something that connected the two in more ways than one, but the reminder that Callie had also lost a close sibling comforted Sara as she had reminded herself that if Callie was able to overcome Tommy's death then she would eventually overcome Laurel's.
So they found themselves in the kitchen, sharing a beer as they spoke about their lives before the boat wreck - before everyone they loved had killed or been killed.
And it led to this.
A passionate make-out session in the kitchen, Callie pressed against the fridge door as Sara ran her hands along her body. Sara was always in charge, knowing all of Callie's delicate spots.
She sucked and nibbled at the girl's neck, causing her to exhale deeply and spin them around - surprising both of them. They broke apart and giggled, Callie instantly going back into her more shy state.
"What would I do without you, Camilla Merlyn," Sara breathed, before pushing the girl into the wall behind her and continuing her assault on her neck.
_______
"Anyone seen Callie and Sara?" Amaya asked as she walked into the library of the ship.
The rest of the team was scattered about in the room, all doing various different things when she entered. Nate and Ray both shrugged at the same time before Jax spoke up.
"Gideon?" One half of firestorm asked, and the AI was quick to respond.
"It appears the Captain and Falcoln are in the kitchen," the AI responded, pulling up the security feed that was around the ship.
And it certainly was Callie and Sara on the screen, but not in the way the rest of the team was expecting to see them.
"Holy shi-" Nate started before he was cut off by Ray.
"Callie and Sara are a thing?!" Ray exclaimed, his eyes widening with Nate as they both stared at the screen in shock as the two girls were pressed against each other, Sara leaving open mouthed kisses on Callie's neck as the other threw her head back against the wall she was pressed against.
"Are you all really that surprised?" Jax asked, confusion across his face as he studied how confused every member of the team was at the news.
They all turned to look at him, not pleased he already had seemingly known.
"We literally walked in on them during a make-out session yesterday," he started, before throwing his hands in the air at the look they all gave him. "Callie was wearing Sara's shirt?? Sara was wearing Callie's shirt??"
"OH!"
"MY!"
"GOD!"
