You sat at the table next to Bucky as you were eating your food.
"Take a look." Yori said to us as he showed us the newspaper.
"Nobody made it past 90 this week." He told us.
"So young, such a shame." Bucky said.
"You guys didn't order the usual, huh? Feeling a little adventurous?" The woman at the counter said.
"You should ask her out." You heard Yori said to Bucky and you stopped eat as you looked at them.
Bucky shock his head at Yori, you kinda felt jealous. You weren't dating Bucky or anything like that. But you did really like him a lot.
"He would like to take you out on a date. Maybe to bingo or a night of pinochle?"Yori told the woman.
"Pinochle. Yeah." Yori continued.
"I'm really sorry about him." Bucky told her.
"Why are you sorry? I'm game." She told him, you placed your chopsticks down as you weren't in the mood to eat anymore.
"Tomorrow night, then?" Yoir asked her.
"Tomorrow night's great. Just maybe not pinochle." She said.
"What's wrong with pinochle?" Bucky asked.
"I have a shift, but you wanna come back here, I should be done around 10:00." She told Bucky.
"I can't believe you did that." Bucky said.
"Me either." You said.
"It's a dance to these things. You can't... you gotta warm up and I haven't danced since 1943... it feels like." Bucky explained.
"What's wrong." Bucky said to Yori as you looked towards him.
"My son... he loves the red bean mochi." Yori spoke in Japanese.
"Umm."
"He had a job with consulting company. And, uh, he was working aboard and he was killed. The police said wrong place, wrong time, but... I will never know what really happened to him. I felt it was strange. In here." Yori explained as he patted were his heart was.

Ancient Bones: The Changed Ones book 1 (Post-Post Apocalypse LitRPG)
Is it truly an RPG Apocalypse... if no one can see the RPG? Generations after the Fall, Mankind has achieved a balance in a world it is no longer the master of. But your prospects in this Malthusian world are limited. Johanna Milton and her friends have an answer: delve into Ancient ruins, avoid Changed beasts and mana pockets, and salvage Ancient materials, collectibles, and trinkets to sell. It pays well if you avoid the perils of the Ancient world. But when they find the skeleton of an Ancient, their lives take a strange turn. Suddenly, Talents straight out of fantasy novels become theirs. While they try to make sense of what happens, eyes turn to them, to the four who seem to break all rules. Or are they merely following them? Because, in the Beyond where he's spent 150 years waiting, one dead Ancient knows the truth. Douglas Moore has played those games often enough when he was alive to make sense of the System that rules the Changed world. He can no longer act on his own, but he has access to the Interface. And four people for which he can bring whatever it takes to face the world. Change is coming. The Changed Ones is a slow-burn litrpg fantasy trilogy (Ancient Bones, Ancient Books, Ancient Bonds) set on Earth, 150 years after the RPG Apocalypse... which mostly failed. It is an homage to the venerable ancient RPGs of the Golden Box era, the Baldur's Gates, and many others, offering adventure where You must gather your party before venturing forth. Keywords: LitRPG, realistic setting, low-leveling, post-post-apocalypse, fantasy earth, slow-burn, secondary POVs, female primary MC, team adventure, worldbuilding. Trigger warnings: casual swearing, adult innuendo (no explicit scenes whatsoever, though). Oh, and potentially a bit of politics. Bonus content: a Litrpg Easter Egg hunt. With lots of eggs across the book, some easy, some hard to find. Current score: 6/20 (20 eggs, 6 found) Publication schedule: on hold until September for book 2.

The Pharaoh's Dancer
"Do you know what to do, Amunet?" A voice as sweet as silk whispered into the young girl's ear. Amunet didn't look over her shoulder, but shifted uncomfortably on her bare feet before nodding her head. A soft hand touched her back and urged her forward. All eyes turned towards the girl dressed in transparent linen with her dark hair tumbling down her back and her violet eyes lined by kohl. Every movement caused the jewels on her wrists and ankles to dangle and shimmer in the light. She raised her head and found the Pharaoh's transfixed stare. His jade eyes narrowed in on hers and the room became still and silent. Amunet bowed and, at the pluck of a harp string, began to dance.---cover by @AddietayDoes contain reference to some mature themes that may not be suited for a younger audience.
