I ALWAYS HATE WHEN STORIES COME BACK FROM A HIATUS AND I DON'T REMEMBER SHIT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. ALSO MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS STUCK. I'M SO SORRY WAS GONE SO LONG I MISSED YOU ALL SO MUCH. I HAVE WORK IN TWENTY MINUTES SO I'M COPY AND PASTING THIS SHIT AND GOING. LOVE YOU ALL.
RECAP
- You, don, and jenna show up in the hell house (duh). The rules are explained to you and you meet all the other occupants
- Then so much happens omg
- The house gives you hallucinations that generally scare the shit out of you
- The first people to get an observable crush on you are suki and Jason. Suki and Jason are also bffs at this time
- Suki is the first to kiss you. She feels bad and good about it—some serious internal conflict. You forgive her for now but still feel uncomfortable around her
o "No, well, yes. But really, I did something. When she turned to leave I grabbed her and held her beneath me... I kissed her," Suki brushed her fingertips across her lips. "She struggled but I just kept her there, until she threw me off of her."
- Btw ryo is an asshole and dianna is a little weird—but you probably remember that
- Do you think there will come a time when all the people on earth will be dead and all that's left of humanity is heaven, hell, and these weird houses? Will all that's left of humanity be ghosts that are desperately trying to recreate the life they used to have?
- Jason falls for you quickly after suki and gives a smooch
o Jason delicately pressed his lips to yours. He was soft and held you like you were glass—like he was afraid to hurt you. You didn't know how to react, but he smelled nice, at least. He leaned back by a small margin and looked for your reaction. He's... surprisingly cute when he's blushing like that, you thought.
o "Are you angry?" He whispered.
o "I'm not angry," you answered. "But... I don't know if I can commit to any sort of romance right now, I don't know how I'm going to navigate relationships in this place yet." You felt guilty with your hands on his chest and the blush on your face. You didn't feel romantically for him, did you? You avoided his gaze.
- Jason's possessiveness grows. You seek comfort with quince who seems to act as a kind and caring figure (who is also pretty knowledgeable...). Ryo and you have some conflict because... he's an asshole!
- Ryo starts a weird "deal" with you where you guys trade getting to force the other to do what you want. He often chooses kisses while you choose other stuff.... It's like a weird, less sexual fuck buddy system...that you didn't really agree to.

o He paused in his descent, "I said we do what I want next time."
o "I don't un—"
o "It's and exchange," he cut you off. "Next time is your turn. Right now, it's mine. I like you like this." As he leaned all the way into your neck and pressed a kiss to your skin, you jolted. You remembered the hasty agreement he had thrust upon you the last time you were with him.
o "This—this isn't what friends do!" you argued, trying to wiggle away.
o "You're right," he pressed his body to yours completely and began leaving feverish kisses from your neck to your jaw. "It isn't."
- Jenna is receiving notes and threats telling her to stop trying to find out the mysteries of the house. She confides to you that she is scared despite being persistent in her search for answers. You both empathize with her and wish she would stop.
- Jason begins deliberately telling you false things so that you're trust in others is under strain
- You try to resolve some of the group's tension (but you don't succeed...)
- Jason stood from his chair suddenly and walked towards the room's exist. "(y/n), let's go," he stared at you.
o Jason stood from his chair suddenly and walked towards the room's exist. "(y/n), let's go," he stared at you.
o "What?" you asked, your brows furrowed.
o "I said let's go, now come on," he snapped. His teeth seemed sharper when he was upset, somehow, as if he was more dangerous. You couldn't think of a time he had acted angrily with you before. You shivered.
o "A-alright," you cursed at yourself internally your stuttering as you stood from your chair, knees wobbling all the while. He took a hold of your upper arm and began to pull you away, but then was stopped in his tracks. Quince had stood from his seat to stand in front of Jason, a gentle smile on his face.
o "I don't think you should be around her while you're this angry," Quince spoke.
o "She's the only person that can make me less angry," Jason growled in return. You hoped Jason wouldn't somehow make Quince angry too—you didn't want to imagine what that'd be like.
o "Yeah, well, you're scaring the shit out of her," Quince frowned.
- Blah blah blah I don't remember the exact order of everything either!!! I should really reread
- Dianna begins trying to see what the others see in you. She's a little bit extreme and competitive
o In contrast, her mind was just filled with you. Almost cruelly so, five people in the house loved you to pieces and you weren't really sure what to do with that. You didn't even realize the extent of their affections yet, as they were just starting to realize it themselves, but you knew something was going on. "You're alluring, (y/n)," she spoke. You pouted when your face flushed and mumbled a thanks. Her hands slid from your shoulders to hold your face in a pose you were familiar with, and, to confirm your suspicions, she leaned into you and kissed you. It was a surprisingly gentle kiss from the woman, you even found yourself relaxing into her somewhat. Not fully...just somewhat. She was soft and held you securely—you almost wanted to just go along with it. You couldn't do that, though. Not now.

o She pulled away for you both to breathe. "I understand," she spoke with her eyes alert and analyzing.
o "You understand...what?" you replied.
o "Your flushed face and soft lips. I understand why everyone is after you. You're a catch... So sweet and very cute."
- Jenna disappears and no one seems to care but you. You search endlessly for her and the attic (where you think she has gone), and struggle for a long time. Everyone thinks you should give it up.
- You end up finding the attic. You almost go in, but Quince finds and stops you, promising to explain the Jenna situation as long as you don't go in.
- He tells you that Jenna went in the attic, despite his warnings. He explains that entering the attic is what destroys your consciousness and actually kills you.
- You start to fall for Quince and kiss him of your own volition
o Quince shifted closer, his face close enough for you to reach up and touch. "The universe doesn't have to care, (y/n)," he spoke, his hand lifted up just to the side of your face—lingering in the air but not touching you quite yet. "I care. I hope that is enough. I care for you more than the universe can. It might not make existing easier, but it might make you a little less alone."
o He finally held your face in his hand and wiped away your tears as you just stared at him. It clicked in your mind. Yes, that...that's enough of course! Who cares about the universe when it never gave a damn about me or anyone else? Who cares about anything except for what's in front of me?
o Who cares about anyone but Quince?
o You leaned all the way forward hesitantly. You took note of Quince's surprised eyes, his breaths close enough to hit your face. You closed the gap.
o You realized suddenly that you had wanted Quince to kiss you for a while, and you weren't totally sure why you were kissing him now. You were glad you were. He was so surprised that you were just pressed to him, smelling how he smelled kinda like citrus and his lips were even softer than they looked.
- Suki walks in on your kiss with Quince. She is upset by this (duh)
o "But I'd choose you. I would've chosen you; I would always choose you. I'd choose you over anyone, even over me. Especially over me!" she took to shouting again, "I hate myself for not being the person you want!" Her hands flew to her head, gripping at her scalp as if she thought her brain would leak away and she'd be left as a non-functioning mass.
Chapter 39
- It is announced to you that Don has disappeared
- Despite everyone's concern, you start your impossible search. Quince claims to not know anything about Don's disappearance
- You're anxious that eventually everyone will disappear and then you'll be alone forever until you decide to walk in the attic yourself
- Jason asks you to quit and you admit it would make you feel guilty
o There were a few moments of silence before Jason replied, "That's what I'm worried about, too. I've been worried about you leaving me for so long that it's probably on my mind every minute of the day. Every moment I spend apart from you I'm torn up wondering if you followed Jenna, and you searching relentlessly like this does nothing but make everyone more anxious."
- He forcefully begins to pull you away to his room
o He had a boyish expression on his face as if he was surprised you were here even though he was the one to bring you here. He didn't really have a plan, and he sure as hell didn't think he'd get this far. He slowly lowered himself to sit in front of you on the ground.
o "Jason. Come to your senses here," you said. It felt weak but you couldn't think of anything else. Both of his hands clasped your cheeks as he pulled you closer.
o "I need you to understand how afraid I am," he said quietly. It was as if he thought his voice would crack if he spoke any louder. "Can you imagine feeling someone you adored was dancing on the edge of a cliff? What can I do except try to keep you safe, even if you'd rather fall?"
- He brings his classic manipulation to the table
o When Jason's arms wrapped around you and rubbed your back you felt better. After a few minutes of sniffling, you regained some composure and sat up a bit to hold him. It seemed like the right thing.
o "I love you, (y/n)," Jason said softly, his grip tightening just a little.
o "I love you, too," you spoke without processing He pushed you away gently so he could kiss you. You didn't think anything. You just kissed him back.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
