《Let me love you》52

It's been a full week now, living with Heath and I couldn't ask for a better roommate. He's clean, organized and gives kisses every five minutes. I'm sure he might wish that I was a better roommate.

I was the slight opposite where I would accidentally forget to clean up after myself. I was awfully messy in my old room, it's much harder sharing a room. But I'm trying in my part to be more clean. It's the least I can do honestly

The pool would be used a lot more now that the party's arrived. The party being me, obviously.

By the third day, I had been all unpacked. With Heaths help of course.

Today I had asked Heath if we could have a little picnic date and he agreed, just like that because he's so in love with me that he'd do anything I asked.

"You're still doing my laundry for a week right?" He asks, putting my bike in the car.

"That was the deal." I shrug.

"Why can't you just come willingly? Picnic dates are so romantic. Me being your date is just a bonus." I throw my hands up.

"It's too hot for this." He says, lifting the end of his shirt to wipe off some sweat from his forehead.

I get a little peak of his lean stomach and instantly drool. Anyways. Moving on.

"Wait!" I hold my hands out and he freezes, looking at me weirdly.

"I almost forgot the food! Wait here." I jog back into the house where I get distracted for a few minutes by Buddy's cuteness. Not my fault.

I grab the basket of light snacks I had made for the both of us. I had seen something like this before on tv and wanted to have my own version of a picnic date.

I grab the light blue patterned blanket from the couch and head back outside.

"Couldn't you take longer to come out?" He speaks sarcastically. His arm leaning on top of the car.

"I could if you want. And that was me rushing." I sass him.

"Now let's go already, we're wasting time when we can be picnicing." The both of us get into the car and I let Heath do the driving.

My driving skills have honestly improved since a couple months ago. I just need to practice on my parking. And reversing. Rip mr. Squirrel that I ran over.

He will never be forgotten.

The park we went to was the perfect spot for admiting the orange sunset. There was a high hill that if you stood on it, you could get the perfect view of the sun.

"How romantic." I stare at the sunset in admiration, the basket in my hand.

"Its hot." Heath says at the same time.

"Must you always complain about something?" I roll my eyes at him.

"Yes, I must." He answers my rhetorical question before laying out the blanket in the grass for the both of us.

I kneel and start organizing the small cute plates and putting the food onto them. I had packed some strawberries, grapes and a few potato chips. And some cookies I found in the pantry.

I stand up and admire the aesthetic of it, I'm easily impressed. I gotta take a picture.

"Now where's my phone? I swear- NO." I unintentionally shout out and Heath flinches a little before taking a bite of the strawberry.

"You can't eat anything yet! We're taking pictures." I kneel down again and organize the plates so that they look neat.

"It was just one." Even then he stills continues eating off the plates. Stuffing his ugly face. Just kidding, I can't even jokingly call him ugly.

That would be a big fat lie.

"Y'know, you're the prettiest person I've ever seen." I had forgotten about the picture all of a sudden as I change the subject.

"Yeah?" He smiles as he takes another bite of the strawberry.

"Nope." I purse my lips and he narrows his eyes at me.

"Just kidding, I think you're the most beautiful person ever." Although he doesn't smile now, I smile enough for the both of us.

"Don't say that when you exist." He shakes his head lightly, looks down and then quickly meets eye contact with me.

I catch a quick glimpse of his dark blue ocean eyes. I always preferred pools over the beach but staring into his eyes makes me love the ocean. They remind me of the ocean on a stormy day, dark and cloudy.

But they were beautiful.

" Fine. We're both the most beautiful people I've ever seen. Better?" I sit on my butt now and get myself comfortable.

"Better." He glances down at the food and I remember about how I was supposed to take pictures and pull out my phone.

I snap a picture of not only the picnic set up but the sky too. The almost setting Sun, provided the sky with cotton candy colors that I always admired.

"I love sunsets." I stretch my legs out so that they're in front of me and I cross my legs from there, staring out into the sky.

"I love sunsets with you." Heath caught me off guard with this one so I apologize for staring at him as if he had four heads.

"I think this is the first time you've ever mentioned something you loved." I tilt my head slightly and smile softly at him.

"It won't be the last." He looks up at the sky too and I watch him for a bit before my nose gets a whiff of the cookies and next thing I know I'm stuffing my face.

Heath and I devour everything that was on the plates in under five minutes and that's when I take the chance to cuddle up on him. I sit in between his spread out legs and rest my head on his chest. We sit there in silence as we just watch the sun.

It's hard. (His chest) but I don't mind.

"Heath?" I call out for him, he brings his attention to me.

"Hmm?" He gently caresses my cheeks and i nuzzle into his chest.

"guess what." I tell him with no expression.

"What?" He asked intrigued.

"Nothing. I just thought I should say something since it was getting quiet." I keep my gaze on the sun set in front of me, he relaxes again.

"Oh" His body gets less tense and all he does is wrap his arm around my waist and kissed me on the cheek.

"Your beard is growing. It tickles." I point to the slight growing stubble on his jaw.

He never lets it grow out all the way, he usually keeps it clean and shaved I would be interested to see a bearded Heath. But not any time soon. Perhaps in the future.

When we're old.

I move away from him and stand up, looking downhill for any people but not many people were even here at all. I walk back towards Heath, who's just staring at me.

"Come here, stand up." I hold my hand out for him but he just looks confused.

"For what?" He plops himself with his arms holding him up.

"I'm assuming you've never experienced rolling down a hill before, so I'm making you." I explain to him and this gets him standing.

He stands and walks over to the edge, looking down at the not too tall hill. Yet, he doesn't look pleased.

"I'm not jumping." He has that look that makes you not even want to try to convince him. But I will.

"Good thing you won't have to. Lay down." I get down on the ground and wait until he does too.

"All you have to do is roll down the hill yourself. I used to do it a lot as a kid. It's fun." I lay on my back and cross my arms.

"Come on already, you loser!" I lightly kick him so that he could get in position but he doesn't budge.

"Don't make me push you." I threaten and I hear him sigh before getting in position.

"Let's race. Whoever gets to the bottom first, gets a reward. Ready? On three." I look over to see Heath in the same position I was in and hold in a chuckle at the sight.

"One.."

I start rolling over, getting a head start.

"Two, three." I quickly finish and assume Heath follows my lead.

Thank you Noa for forgetting three. I got a two second head start as I started rolling down the hill. I think I might've rolled over a rock or something because ow.

I suddenly start slowing down by the middle of the hill and hold my hands out on the floor. Heath was behind me but was slowly catching up. I can't have this happening.

I push myself once again and roll down the rest of the way, uncomfortably. Gosh darn, these damn rocks.

Eventually I get to the bottom and I feel so dizzy I can't even think straight. I shake my head a little to get my sight back to normal and notice Heath rolling down the rest of the hill.

"Shit" I hear him say as he dramatically rolls over, like in one of those dramatic movies where they accidentally trip and stumble all over the floor.

He eventually gets to the bottom of the hill and groans as he sits up. I laugh at him and remember how funny he looked rolling down. There's grass on his back and he has messy hair but I love the sight.

"I win. Now walk back up to the hill and get my bike, please." I put my hands on my hips and stare up at the big hill. I'd hate to be the one to climb up there.

"You cheated." Heath struggles to get up.

"Can you prove it?" I ask and look him up and down.

"That's what I thought. You Thot." I say when he got silent, proving my point.

"Sorry, I really cannot help it when I say that. It's a problem." I sigh to myself.

"Now, my bike please? I want to ride it while the suns still out." I look back behind me at the setting Sun.

"What do you want to ride?" Heath asks innocently only because he wasn't listening though.

"You." This gets his attention in less than a second. Is this all I have to say to get him to pay attention to me? It's that easy?

"Kidding. Don't get your hopes up." I chuckle and hold my hands up. He looks down at my shirt and keeps his eyes there.

"Anyways.."

"My bike. I'll wait here." I walk over to the nearest bench and sit down as I wait for Heath.

Longly after, Heath comes back with my bike and sets it right in front of me. Perfecto.

"I thought of my reward." I tell him happily and he stands there with a nonchalant look on his face.

"Aren't you gonna ask what it is?" I wiggle my brows.

"No, I wasn't." He answers honestly.

"I'm glad you asked!- oh" I speak over him, I thought he would ask.

"Well pretend you did ask. What I want as a reward is one picture of you. There, easy right?" I put my hands behind my back.

"Why me? I'll take one of you." He negotiates but I won't have that at all.

"Nope, I want one of you. And you have to be smiling in it." I point out and he rolls his eyes.

"I'm the winner. I won, fair and square."

"No, you -" I put my finger over his lips to shush him.

"Losers don't get to talk." I pat him on the chest and hop on my bike. I look into the basket and see all our picnic materials in here.

"Here, hold my basket. Try to keep up. Although I bet ya won't." I start peddling away and laugh as I zoom out there faster than he can walk.

I look behind me which I shouldn't have because then I almost crashed into a tree but I moved away in time. My fault. I ride my bike through the quiet path surrounded by the tall trees, the sunset view on my right.

I stop here and wait for Heath to catch up with me but Im just too fast for him. Finally, I see him in the distance and I call him over.

"Move those daddy long legs of yours!" I cup my mouth as I shout.

He catches up to me but took his sweet time.

"Do you wanna hop on now? You were pretty good last time." I get off the bike and hold it up for him. He hands me the basket and we switch places.

"Hold me for now." He says as he stumbles to get on. His legs were too long for the distance of the seat and the paddles so his legs cramp up.

"I'll let go when you start paddling on your own." I ensure him and he starts picking up the pace right away.

Sometimes I wonder if he pretends he doesn't know on purpose just so that I can help him and then when he gets comfortable, he does it on his own. Maybe it's the fact that we get to do it together.

I know at least in my personal opinion, I like when we try things together. It makes it all more interesting and meaningful.

I soon let go of the back of the seat and Heath already starts to ride away. I forgot my helmet this once so I hoped he wouldn't fall or anything.

I don't have health insurance. I think. I have no clue. Maybe I do. I do.

He starts at a normal pace, not too fast not too slow. He starts off wobbling around as he starts to get the hang of it. I quickly take my phone out and snap a picture of him.

Although he wasn't smiling in it, he still looked good In it.

"Okay now come back!" I shout as he starts getting further and further away from me. I'm too lazy to walk all the way across the path.

When I don't see him anymore I sigh and walk because he leaves me with no choice. I open the basket and pull out a Hershey kiss. I brought six so four for me and two for Heath. Or six for me if I don't tell him I have some.

I plop the chocolate into my mouth for motivation to keep walking. Where did this dum dum go? My gosh.

"Heath?" I narrow my brows when I look around, the tall trees surrounding the path made it harder to see around me but still, I couldn't find him anywhere.

Just as I was reaching in for another kiss, arms wrap around me and shake me.

"Boo." The voice says and I shriek and flinch. And prepare to throw a punch if I need to.

"Jesus! Mother God! Heath!" I hold a hand to my heart and I can feel it beating out of my chest.

"You scared me you booger!" I point my finger at him as he laughs to himself as if seeing me scared was so hilarious. I don't like boogers so he's a booger.

"Keep one eye open when you sleep. You don't want to mess with me." I said seriously even though he must've thought I was joking.

"I always keep an eye open, to watch you sleep." He says and goes behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my cheek.

"Creeper." I move away from his hold and turn to face him.

"When I'm farting in the sheets you're gonna wish you had handled this differently. And trust me, you'll know when I've farted." This makes me chuckle a little bit I can't go soft on him so I quickly wipe off the smile on my face.

"Good, can't wait." He smiles a little before patting me on the butt and walking over a tree.

"And you say I'm the weird one? Please." I roll my eyes and follow him.

He grabs my bike again and right as he was about to get on I look at my surroundings before lightly kicking the bike. He stumbles a little and the bike starts to tilt slowly.

I'm getting Deja Vu. Except this time it was cause of me.

"Shit, shit." He mumbles and holds his hand out to catch himself on the floor. I snort out a laugh but stop when he glares at me on the ground.

Karma. Or maybe just payback.

"The wind must've picked up and blown you down or something." I act clueless and look around at the wind.

"Wind is powerful." I shrug when he narrows his eyes at me and I stand there watching him as he tries to stand up.

"I'm fine. I don't need help." He spits frustrated as he stands up, picking up my bike while he's at it.

"I didn't think so big guy." I pat him on the back.

Never mess with Thalia.

I feel him glaring at me from behind me and when I turn around I see him off the bike, standing it up. Who's laughing now?

"Here have a kiss, you're not yourself when you're hungry." I reach into the basket and reach all the way down.

Heath randomly leans down to me and I raise my brow in confusion. I pull out the Hershey kiss and hold it out on the palm of my hand.

"Uh, here's your kiss." I hand it to him and he licks his lips before returning back to his normal stance.

"Oh.Why do they call it a kiss?" He asks me and I start walking back to the parking lot.

It had started to get a little darker than it was so I wanted to leave before it was completely dark.

"That's a good question. But I'm not Einstein so I don't know everything." I talk as I walk and swing the basket in my hand.

"Follow me." I wave him over and walk to the car. He brings my bike with him and follows my orders like a good man.

He puts my bike in the trunk of the car and I watch him as he does it. I stand on my tippy toes and he leans down a little as I kiss him on the cheek.

"Thank you. " I bat my lashes and smile to make him fall in love with me more.

I know he wants me.

"Get in the car, loser." I shout at him as I get into the passenger seat. I was more than ready to go home, shower and sleep with Beau. Heath too.

"Make me." I hear that come out from his lips. He's not slick.

"I'm coming." He tells me when I looked at him. Yeah, that's better.

"Not today you're not." I tell him when he sits down and he looks at me.

"You're so funny." He says sarcastically, shakes his head and rolls his eyes at me. He loves to hate on me.

I know he secretly prays for my downfall. I know.

"Shush up and drive." I tell him and he does it cause he loves me.

We go home and he cuddles me the whole night right after my bubble bath. He had wanted to join in but a girl needs her alone time.

A couple months ago I had to ask him to hang out with me but nowadays he literally wants to follow me even into the bathroom. Sometimes I think he's more obsessed than I am.

I don't think that's possible though.
