《What happens in Vegas》15| Hideout

It was currently almost midnight and we're sitting in Noah's room, not talking, both of us just on our phones, in our own worlds. "Noah," I said, looking up at him.

"Hmm?" he replied.

"You were supposed to get me ice cream," I stated, narrowing my eyes at him.

He closed his eyes, leaning his head against the wall, remaining in his seat on the floor. "Shit," he chuckled, "Okay, let's go."

"Right now?"

"It's Vegas," he deadpanned, "The whole city is awake at night, come on." He stood up and held his hand out.

I sighed in defeat, putting my hand in his and letting him pull me up. We left and headed downstairs, stepping into the elevator. While we were descending, it stopped on the third floor and dinged open, allowing Lucas and Ava to step in. They stepped in, engrossed in their conversation, freezing when they realized it was us in the elevator with them. I looked at Noah and bit back a laugh.

"You guys are going on a date? A little rendezvous in the middle of the night, huh?" Noah taunted. Neither of them said anything and completely ignored him. "Aww, look. Look, Lucas is blushing," Noah laughed. I elbowed Noah, hoping he would stop but he didn't. "Aww, they're in love. Bella, look they-"

I pushed him against the wall and clamped my hand over his mouth. "Stop talking," I laughed. He grabbed my waist, pushing me back but I stood there, keeping his mouth shut. "Stop," I whispered, looking at him wide-eyed, trying not to laugh, "Don't."

He nodded, smiling under my palm. His grip around my waist tightened and I tried ignoring it. "Have fun you two," I grinned at Ava and Lucas. They nodded at me before stepping out when the elevator dinged open. "What is wrong with you?" I laughed, retreating my hand, and taking a step back.

"It's fun," he shrugged, pushing himself off the wall and pulling me out to the exit.

"It won't be when it happens to you, you know." He lifted a brow at me. "When you're with a girl and your friends tease you like that in front of her," I clarified.

"Would you care?"

"If your friends made fun of you in front of your girl?" He nodded. It pinched a little knowing that he was looking for a girl, that just goes to show there's no scope for me here. We're friends. That's it. "Should I?"

"You wouldn't care if I was being teased for being with you?" he smirked.

"Being with me?" I asked, extremely surprised.

What the-

"Yeah, being with you," he shrugged.

"What makes you think we'd be together?" I questioned.

"Just a feeling," he answered.

"A feeling?" He nodded in response. "Why? Do you want to be with me?" I asked, smirking.

"I'm open to it," he chuckled.

"Really?" I asked, amused.

"Really," he winked before pushing open the door to the ice cream parlor. "Which ice cream would you like?" he asked.

"Um..." I looked at all the names written on the chalkboard. "Rocky road," I grinned.

"Rocky road," he nodded. I looked around and while I was looking out the window, I saw Lucas and Ava walking around, hands held, locked actually. "I had a feeling they've been sneaking around, they've made this entire place their hideout," Noah chuckled.

"You knew?" I gaped at him.

"I had a feeling. There's a difference," he shrugged.

"Well, next time just tell me your feelings, okay?" I chuckled.

He stared at me for a minute before nodding, "Okay." We both turned to the counter and took our ice creams.

"Thank you," I smiled. We left after that and began walking around rather than going to the hotel.

"Bella, do you wanna go somewhere tomorrow night? I have an idea," he said while we turned around and started heading in the direction of the hotel.

"What idea?" I asked.

"Do you think you and your friends would be down to camp at Laguna Beach Way?"

"Laguna Beach Way?" I chuckled, "To camp? Overnight?" I laughed.

"Yes or no? Tell me quickly," he clicked his tongue.

"I think we could go, they'll be fine with it," I shrugged.

"Okay, so tomorrow after we eat dinner and everything, we're camping."

"Why do you have a sudden urge to go camping at a beach?" I chuckled.

"I have an idea," he shrugged. I was confused but I didn't interrogate him, I'll find out tomorrow anyway.

We got back to the hotel and up to our rooms where I bid him farewell and said goodnight. "Bye," I sang.

"Why?" he whined. I raised my eyebrows. "Are you going to sleep?"

I nodded.

He clicked his tongue, pouting, "You're no fun," he mumbled.

I rolled my eyes, "You can come," I laughed.

"Okay," he grinned, following me inside.

"But you can't stay."

"What?" he frowned.

"Once you get sleepy? Bye-bye," I chuckled.

"No," he shook his head. I arched a brow at him. "You're a surprisingly good cuddle buddy, I'm not leaving," he chuckled.

"You're paying for that hotel room," I stated.

"Would you like to share a room for the rest of this holiday then?" he smirked.

I stood by the bed, plugging my phone on charge. "I think you should go to sleep, in your room," I said.

"Why?" I looked to my left and saw him walking over.

"Because if you stay here," I chuckled, "You might do something you'll regret," I mumbled.

"Like?"

"Noah-"

"Like?" I sighed, looking up at him. I put my hands on his chest to push him back when he stood too close but he grabbed my wrists and pushed them off. "Like what?" he asked, staring at me.

I was not going to say what I was thinking. In fact, I think I might do something that will make him regret coming here with me. I might kiss him. God, I really wanted to. I've known him for a week now, just a week, liked him for roughly three-four days, and I'm dying to kiss him. You can't be just friends with someone you wanna kiss every time you see, it just doesn't work that way.

He poked my stomach and I snapped out of it and looked at him. "Like what?" he asked, biting back a smile. He's always smiling at me, always making me laugh, and if he doesn't stop... I swear to god. He leaned in beside my ear and whispered, "Kiss you?" I pulled back and looked at him wide-eyed. "And if I do?"

"Why would you- what?" I sputtered.

"If I do?" He took a step closer. I took a step back and my legs hit the bed, causing me to stumble. I sat down on the edge of the bed, looking up at him. He leaned down his face right in front of mine, inches away. "If I do?" he whispered.

I had no words, absolutely nothing to say. If he kissed me... honestly, I'd probably just be over the moon, to be honest. I stared at his eyes, willing myself to not look at his lips, but I caught his eyes shifting to my lips and I've never wanted someone to kiss me as badly as I want him to do it.

He began leaning in and my eyes fluttered closed but right before our lips could touch, I felt the space between us increase. I opened my eyes as I felt a kiss being pressed to my cheek. "Goodnight," he whispered before standing upright and then leaving.

I sat, shellshocked.

What in the fucking fuckness of fuck was that?

I fell back on the bed, lying down before grabbing a pillow and hiding my face in it. "Oh my god!" I yelled before letting out cries of humiliation. I thought he was gonna kiss me. I really thought he would do it. I closed my fucking eyes. I seriously closed my eyes thinking he was gonna kiss me. And he didn't.

Did I lean in?

What if I did and he pulled away to dodge it? I would just really appreciate it right now if the ground could open up and swallow me whole or something because if what I think happened really happened, then I don't think I've ever been more humiliated. And I used to do talent shows for my family when they would visit on Christmas, even that was less humiliating.

You know how kids and cousins get together, put on a little show, sing, dance, or act for them. Yeah, I was that cousin.

I kicked my legs around, dreading tomorrow morning now. We're going to the water park and then at night, we're camping. Ava is going to share a tent with Lucas. I'm now going to try avoiding Noah because I can't recover from what just happened, so my last hope is sharing a tent with Charlotte.

But if she likes Oli, the way I think she does, then she might want to share a tent with him.

This is going to be bad. So bad. Honestly, I should just sleep. I should just go to sleep and act like none of it happened.

We can deal with this problem in greater detail when the goddamn sun rises.
