《What happens in Vegas》2| Jet lag

"I'm feeling jet-lagged," Ava groaned, sitting on the bench while we waited for our car.

"There's no time difference between San Diego and Vegas, you can't have jet lag," Charlotte stated, looking at her in confusion.

"You didn't sleep at all, did you?" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Sweethearts, it is 2:00 in the fucking morning," she said, lying down on the bench, sending the people who were about to sit back.

I pulled her up as the car from our hotel pulled up. "Let's go." Charlotte and I dragged her to the car, where our driver, whose name is Mr. Jenkins as we'll call him. He only told us his last name, what else are we supposed to call him? "Do we ask for you when we need a ride, Mr. Jenkins?" I asked, leaning down while Charlotte dragged Ava out.

He nodded, "Just ask the front desk for me and I'll be at your service," he smiled.

"Thank you," I grinned before grabbing my suitcase from the trunk and heading inside with a corpse of Ava, she's as good as dead with the pace she's walking at, and a frustrated Charlotte beside me.

They both collapsed on the couches, sending me for the keys. I rolled my eyes and went to the front desk, "Hi, I'm Bella Miller, I have a room booked here and so do my friends, could we get the keys please?" I smiled.

"Your names?" she asked.

"Bella Miller, Charlotte Willow, and Ava Kendall," I answered.

She handed me three forms. "Please fill these in and sign them and then I can give you the rooms keys, enjoy your stay," she smiled.

"Thank you," I smiled before turning around and walking over to the girls. We filled in the forms, I handed them back, retrieved the room keys, and then went back to my ladies. "Three separate floors, well done, ladies. Maybe next time tell each other what room you're booking," I laughed.

They stood up and we all got to the elevators. I glanced at the couch, clicking my tongue in realization. "Ava, your phone!" I called out while grabbing it. I turned around to follow them but bumped into someone. "Sorry," I said, without turning around to glance at who it was before running back over to them, getting in the elevator.

"See you tomorrow morning, 10:00, girls," Charlotte said, hopping off on the second floor.

"Bye, babe," Ava said, getting off on the third. I'm all the way up on the sixth. I stood there until the elevator dinged, opening on my floor. As I stepped out, someone else did too from the elevator opposite to mine. I saw them turn around and walk down the hall while I stepped out myself.

My room was also to the left so I followed the stranger. Seems I have to follow them the whole way there. I stopped at my door and he stopped at the one next to mine. I glanced at him, noticing that his hoodie covered his face fairly well. I slipped in my key-card, the door beeped open, and I went inside, noticing my suitcase already there.

I put my bag down and did what everyone does their first moment in their hotel room. Jump onto the bed. Jumped into heaven, basically. I lay there for a while but when I almost fell asleep, I forced myself out and took out the toiletry bag, leaving it on the counter in the bathroom.

I changed into pajamas before turning off all the lights, leaving the bathroom one on because yes, I still sleep with a night light, not because I'm scared of the dark, but because what if I have to pee in the middle of the night but fall in the dark and crack my skull open? Or what if I need to drink water and grab in the dark and accidentally pour it up my nose? I drink the water lying down, doesn't everyone?

I crawled into bed, hugged a pillow, and dozed off almost instantly.

My alarm rang at 9:45 and I rubbed my eyes open, grabbing my phone and turning it off before reading the text.

Charlotte- Dining hall in fifteen.

I went into the bathroom, got ready for the day, and then got dressed, wearing jeans with a green top. I grabbed my phone, slipping the key-card under my case and my purse, throwing some money in there with my card before going out and downstairs.

I got into the elevator and went downstairs, entering the dining hall and grabbing a plate at the buffet. Once I had my food, I scanned the gigantic room, spotting Charlotte sitting at a table, digging right into her food. I walked over and sat beside her, "Thanks for telling me what table you're getting," I said sarcastically.

"Oh, I knew you'd find it. Ava's passed by the table three times already," she scoffed.

"There you are! I've been looking for you for over twenty minutes!" Ava exclaimed, sitting in front of me.

"Actually, ten minutes," Charlotte replied.

She smiled at her sarcastically before we all ate while talking about trivial things. Mainly people from our high school. "So, where are we going today?" Ava asked before they both turned to me.

Right, I'm the breathing itinerary.

"Oh, right," I said, pulling out my phone and opening the Notes app where I planned each day of the trip, leaving one or two for spontaneous moods and decisions. "Well, I thought we could go for a gondola ride at the Venetian and then just see where we wanna go from there," I shrugged.

"Isn't that for like... couples?" Charlotte asked.

"We can get cute pictures, we're going," Ava said, "We could go shopping after that or something, we'll see what's around, do what tourists do," she shrugged.

"We are tourists," Charlotte said. Ava simply rolled her eyes while I bit back a laugh and focused on my french toast. I finished first but the other two wanted dessert and I'm not a sweet food person. "So, you go ask for Mr. Jenkins, and then we'll meet you out at the lobby," Charlotte nodded.

I shrugged before standing up and heading out to the lobby. I threw my hair up in a high ponytail while walking there. "Hi, could we please have Mr. Jenkins to drive us, I believe we booked a car throughout our stay, we'd prefer it to be him," I said with a smile.

"Just a moment, ma'am, I'll have him come in and we'll let you know," she nodded.

"Thank you," I grinned. I turned around to take a seat on the couch but bumped right into someone. "Ouch," I mumbled, rubbing my arm, glaring at the back of his head as he continued walking towards the exit with two guys with him.

They seemed familiar, I just couldn't put my finger on it.

Whatever.

"Ms. Miller?" I stood up and walked over to the front desk.

"Your car is ready and waiting," she smiled.

"Thank you." By the time I got to the exit, Charlotte and Ava were walking towards it as well. We got to the car together and filed in, telling him our destination.

"What time do I pick you up, Ms?" he asked.

"Do you maybe have a personal contact so that we can call you ourselves?" Charlotte asked.

He handed me a card, "It's on there, Ms. Miller."

"Um- thank you, we'll let you know when and where to pick us up, have a nice day," I grinned.

"You too, ladies," he smiled before driving off.

After getting our ride, we filed in on one of the. "Hello, ladies, welcome aboard," he chuckled, helping us in.

"You seem awfully young," Charlotte chuckled.

"And cute," Ava smiled.

"Only on summer break from college," he replied. We took loads of pictures together, of each other, of the beautiful view we had, and before leaving, even with our guide whose name we learned was Justin.

"Bye," we laughed in sync.

"Bye, ladies," he grinned.

"This is how you take a picture, Charlotte, see how nicely I captured Bella's beauty," Ava said, showing us a perfect picture that she took of me. I blew her a kiss as we kept walking. "Not like this," she scoffed. We looked down at a blurry picture of Ava.

"I was going to fall out of the damn thing, Ava. Just to get your perfect angle," Charlotte scoffed.

"Not catfights in Vegas please," I snickered.

"Why don't we go to Madame Tussauds instead of shopping? We should shop towards the end of the trip, no?" Charlotte asked.

"Yeah, we can literally walk there," Ava shrugged.

"Let's go then," I agreed.

The whole time there, we talked, took some more pictures, stopped by to look at passing areas until we finally got there. Venetian is so beautiful, it's Italy's architecture in Vegas. But a knock-off, a pretty good one at that.

We suffered a little in a long queue to get the tickets and paid for our own before finally being let in.

"There are literally one hundred figures here. Are we checking them all out?" Charlotte asked.

God, I hope not. But Ava's excited face said otherwise.
