she was a fallen angel who failed to notice the remaining wings on her back. the only image she can see is the feathers slowly, but gently falling to the ground. and each soft landing of it, creates a deep scar on her skin.

and as her wings keep on losing its feathers one by one, an angel can never fly back to the sky again.

"give it back!" are the words she spoke in a harsh and loud tone for the first time in her life again.

for once, she tried to stood up from herself and protect something that means a lot to her. for once, that angel tried to gather all those fallen feathers on the ground.

"please, i'll do anything!" she cried out, her tears reflecting her pain, but people failed to see the real meaning behind it.

a bunch of snickers was all she got back and their burning stares on her helpless figure. and realization hits her, the way she shivered in fear at seeing their faces. she was an easy target, she was weak and easily broken. it never had anything to do with her past or her looks, just simply because she can never stand up for herself.

and that awoken a sleeping fire of anger inside her. like a blazing inferno that wanted to burn her from the inside out.

i don't want to be weak anymore.

and it was a mistake, to replace that halo with long horns filled with sins. it was a mistake, to let those wings of her slowly fade into a pitch black color.

it was a mistake that she fell as an angel.

"you heard the girl," a voice popped up, "give it back."

but that mistake, led her to him.

"huh? who are you?" the boy asked, raising his brow, but he quickly scoffed at him.

"doesn't matter, she'll never have it back anyways." and with those words coming out of his mouth, he threw the necklace away.

the way it glistened under the heating sun and the visible sparkles coming from it made her eyes widened in fear and panic. she was already a mess and holding onto something she treasure a lot is the only reason she stayed sane.

and as the sound of it hitting the surface of water, creating a small drop of noise, i dive with no hesitation after it.

tsukishima's eyes widened at her figure diving right into the water. he was taken aback of her actions, but he quickly got a hold of the situation he's in. the students laughed at her desperate figure searching for the necklace.

and it was a sight that triggered tsukishima a lot.

"shut up." he mumbled, clenching his fist with his blood boiling inside him.

they all turned their attention towards him, scoffing and mocking him with their faces, "what did yo—"

he lifted his head up with an annoyed smirk plastered on his face, "shut up, you pathetic idiots."

"huh?!" they all yelled in unison, an irritated mark can be seen on the side of their faces.

one of the student came up to him, ready to challenge him. tsukishima rose a brow at his actions, the smugness on his face still visible. as the boy was ready to throw words at him, he greeted his teeth upon seeing him up close.

he hesitated at seeing his height and the blonde one noticed it, "how lame." he blurted out.

"y-you—"

"get lost."

he was startled as he took a step back, one of his friend tugged on his shirt and begged for him to just let it be, "let's just leave, the girl was the only target." he nervously said, glancing at the tall boy who lazily stared at them.

after so many bickering coming from the group, they left and glared at tsukishima's direction. the boy didn't pay any attention to them and instead stopped at the edge, noticing that the girl finally popped up from the water.

i was shock to see the familiar figure standing in front of me. the coldness of the water wrapped my entire body as i saw no one behind him anymore. i panted and gasped for air, holding the jewelry tightly on my hand.

"are you crazy?" tsukishima spoke with a hint of judgement, "why would you even do that? it's just a necklace."

just.

the word itself triggered something inside of me. snap. i tilted my head to the side and gave him a blank stare, "just a necklace for you, but for me, it's my mother's heart and soul."

he seems to be taken aback at my words as his eyes widened a bit. his eyebrows furrowed and he looked away, releasing a sigh as he crouched down, stretching his arm out to me.

"get out." he mumbled, "it's cold."

i snapped out of my mood and returned to my normal, flustered self. i realized who was in front of me and as those pair of golden-brown eyes stared back at me, i felt myself drown in them.

as the waves came by and tiny drops of water splashed on him, it trailed down on his skin like pieces of diamond. he bathed himself in rich gold as he glistened under the sunlight. i saw how his eyes held the entire galaxy in them and i could always get used to getting lost in it.

and at that moment, tsukishima shone brighter than the necklace i have on my hand.

and as i reached out to hold him too, the wave pushed me harder, resulting in me tugging on his shirt. he quickly gripped on my wrist and pulled me up, nervous that he might fall in the water too.

"t-thanks." i mumbled and looked away, afraid that he sees me as an annoying human being who kept on popping out of nowhere in his life now.

i'm scared that he'll see me as a mistake, as a curse that ruined his entire self.

but i'm more afraid of myself, because i might end up pulling him in the water with me, drowning in the curse we both got ourselves into.
