Daniel took me to a restaurant where we ate dinner. For the whole night we've been laughing and talking, I was having a blast but I could tell he was nervous about something. I'm not sure what though. Right now though we were waiting for dessert and strangely there was only one dessert available, and they had a TON of desserts. The only thing they had was a chocolate and mint cake, so that's what we ordered

"So uhm V do you uh remember what happened when I came to your house drunk?" He asks nervously. I nod hesistantly and he gulps

"You're not mad?" He asks and I shake my head

"Why would I be mad?" I ask back

"Because...I've broken your heart so many times. I've caused you so much pain and then here I am hopelessly in love with you just when you've moved on" He says running a hand through his hair

...who said I moved on?

"Dan-" i start but he cuts me off

"V, i know you probably don't want to considering the guy I've become and this is such a shitty way to ask you. I just saw the opportunity and grabbed it without even thinking about it and-" He rambles until I cut him off

"Daniel what are you talking about" I say and he takes a deep breath

"V...You already know I love you...it must be so weird to you but I really do. And I want you to be happy and in love with a guy not as fucked up as me but...I can't bear it. I can't take seeing you in someone else's arms. Thinking how that should be me and how I screwed up my chance with you. I already know you'll say no but I'm gonna try anways..."

The waiter places a heart shaped cake on my place and in chocolate syrup written around the plate was the words

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

I look up and Daniel is looking down playing with his fingers.

"What did you think my answer was gonna be?" I ask

"A big fat no" he answers

"Daniel, you know it's hard to move on from someone you've loved your whole life." I say looking right at Daniel's eyes

"Wait so-" Daniel says but I cut him off

"Yes!!!! Obviously a yes!!!" I answer smiling widely. He breaks out a huge smile and hugs me tightly. He picks me up and twirls me around before putting me down and hugging me tight.

"Oh my god...I can't...I thought..." He stutters but I just laugh

"Idiot. Of course I still like you. I mean I'm sorry but I don't think I can say I love you but-" I say but he cuts me off

"It's okay. It's super okay. I understand. I'm just so happy you said yes. I'm so happy I'm so I'm so I can't even." He says and I smile and hug him tight

Hours later we were back at our hotel room. We were cuddling while talking about nonsense.

"I believe that after every bad moment, a good moment comes." I say as we were talking about our beliefs

"I believe that everything has a reason. Everything happens for a reason, every person comes to your life for a reason." He says and I smile

"I'd like to believe I have a reason I've been in your life for so long" I say and he smiles

"V...you're the reason that I'm happy." He says and I smile widely

He kisses my forehead and I close my eyes in peace.

I believe that this is where I belong, in his arms with his love surrounding me and making me feel safe and happy.
