“Are you sure we are safe here?”

“We should be. It’s only a few days. Then, we can go back home.”

She places a hand on the small, but clearly visible, bump protruding from her abdomen. I lock the door behind us. Hiding out in a run down motel cabin in the middle of nowhere is definitely not my idea of a safe house. But according to Luci, it’s far enough away from society and most angel activity.

“Do you have the medicine?”

“Yes.”

I give her the pills and a water bottle. She takes them and sits on the bed.

“Can you sit next to me?”

I join her request, sitting next to her. She climbs into my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck. “Thank you, Andy.”

“For what?”

“For putting up with all of this crap. I'm sorry I dragged you into this. I know its ridiculous. I don’t know why you even chose to help me.”

“You manipulated me into letting you stay at my house.”

“But everything after that was you.”

“I didn’t believe you at first, until I saw the rapid pregnancy and that thing attack you.”

“I just wanted to let you know, I love you more than anything.”

“I love you, too, Lucifer.”
