A knock at the door fails to distract me from Luci. Until she breaks the kiss and gently pushes me.

"Go answer the door."

I give her one final kiss before I walk over to the front door, opening it. Hailey stands in front of me, folder in hand.

"Hey Dr. Cole."

"Oh. Hello. What can I do for you tonight?"

"I just wanted to let you know that the teenage girl from earlier is doing just fine and so is her baby."

"Thank you. Is that all?"

"Actually, I wanted to discuss the old patient, Luci, and her records from the hospital."

"Right now isn't a good time. Can we do this tomorrow?"

My attempt to change the subject fails and Luci's voice floats out from the kitchen.

"Did you call my name, Andrew?"

"No. I'll be right there."

Hailey looks at me, perplexed.

"Who was that?"

"A friend that is joining me for dinner."

"Can I meet her?"

Hailey tries to move into my house but I stop her.

"We don't have time to discuss old patients. She left against medical advice. There is nothing more we can do. Now please get off my property."

Her face shows shock but she nods. She turns, walking down the steps and back to her car.
