I don't know what time it is when I wake up, but there is no sunlight. Until I walk out into the hallway. Then it hits me. Luci put up black-out curtains so I could sleep longer. I try to smile, but the pounding in my head won't let me. I didn't even get drunk last night and my head is pounding. Great.

"Is that you, Alex?"

I follow the sound of Luci's voice, finding her at the stove making breakfast.

"Yeah."

She turns around, dazzling me yet again.

"The pain in your head is typical after what happened. There's some pills on the counter to relieve the pain if you want."

I look at the strange pills. Orange and blue swirled pills sit in a plastic bathroom cup on the counter. As if she reads mind, she delivers an explanation.

"They work. They are drugs. They came from Heaven."

When I still give her a skeptical look, she rolls her eyes.

"They help with the headache. Trust me."

I take the pills like she suggests and they work almost instantly.

"Told you."

"I've never had that kind of reaction before. Is there something I need to know?"

"I'm an angel. Even if I'm fallen, I still have just as much power. That is just how the human body reacts to my power."

"So what are you making?"

"Eggs. I didn't know what kind you liked so I just put in cheese, milk, and green peppers."

"Thank you."

She hands me the plate once she brings my eggs over on a plate. I take one bite, and I'm in flavor heaven.

"Delicious right?"

"Not as delicious as you."

She freezes and so do I. What did I just say? She blinks at me, as shocked as myself.

"I'm sorry. I don't know where that came from."

"Okay. Well, I guess that's an appropriate thing to say in this situation."

"What do you mean?"

Leans back against the counter, crossing her arms.

"Your mind isn't under my control anymore."

"What?"

"In order to get you to let me stay here, I used mind persuasion to my advantage. But everything last night was you."

I wasn't even mad. More confused. She didn't flip out. She didn't slap me. She's going right along with everything.

"Not to offend you, but I wasn't drunk?"

"I did play with you a bit there. I prevented you from getting drunk. That's all."

Suddenly, her face says it all. All of her intentions are revealed to me.

She wants me to save her.

She wants me to allow her to kill her siblings

She wants me to free her from Hell.

But the part that scared me the most;

I was ready and willing.
