Jisoo wakes up the next day and unconsciously the first thing she does is check her phone to see if Rose or Lisa replied to her messages but no replies from them

She washes up and gets ready for school. Today is the big match, the finals. Although she has no interest in the match yet she decides to go just so that she can give another shot at making things right with her friends

She ties her hair up in a ponytail, wears a baggy t-shirt tucked inside her jeans, and leaves for school.

Jisoo looks around in search of her friends and she sees them near the field. Both of them are wearing a similar jersey with their college name on it. They'd always do stuff like this together but today, Jisoo isn't a part of it. It's only the two. They are laughing with each other holding ice cream and a couple of other snacks as they walk towards the audience seat of the stadium

"Lisa, Rose" Jisoo runs towards them screaming their names

They look behind and stop after seeing her

"I am--I am sorry. Please give me another chance" Jisoo says while catching her breath

"I know I messed up but please, the only reason I didn't tell you two was because I thought that I'd disappoint you a lot. I just wanted to forget about it and move on. But please don't break our friendship over this. I am very grateful for what you guys did for me and I thought that I am relying on you guys like a burden for way too long to expect you to pull me out of this mess again. That's why I told Yoongi because I was so broken by what I did too and I needed someone to turn to. Trust me I blamed myself a lot and I repent it. Please forgive me this time. I would've never hidden for long, sooner or later I would've brought myself to tell you guys the truth but before I could even get the chance Jennie told you. Trust me, my intention was not to hurt you" she begs

"Hi girls," Jennie says from behind and walks towards them

Jisoo looks at her and sees that she is wearing the same jersey as the two of them. Irene is with her too, wearing the same.

"I am so sorry that I am late," she says and they hug each other

"Save a seat for me and Rose. We're coming" Lisa says

Jennie looks at Jisoo and smiles, not in a warm way but in a condescending way, and walks inside the audience area

"Do we look like a fool to you? Do you remember how you told everything about Jennie to us? We hated Jennie for you, for what she did to you. We defended you throughout. We don't even have any personal enmity with her. We hated her because of you. But what did you do? The same thing. And you want us to forgive you? In your dreams. You don't deserve any friends" Lisa says and walks inside

"You know what Jisoo? If I were you I wouldn't even think about touching Taehyung let alone kissing him after what he did. He literally cheated on you and you ended up kissing him? What kind of a thirsty person does that? You're the one who kept saying *I won't kiss before this...before that....* You can't even value your own words. I feel sad for you. To be honest, right now, I don't even blame Taehyung for cheating on you. He probably saw this face of yours before us and decided to leave" Rose says and looks at her in the same manner as Jennie did

Jisoo watches them leave her behind but this time she doesn't cry. Ever her tears don't come out of her eyes no matter how much she wants to cry. She just looks around and sees everyone being happy, laughing with their friends while she is the only one standing alone

The only one left for her is Yoongi. She walks inside too and finds a seat for her. She can see Lisa and Rose from here. They are looking happy with their new friends. She doesn't shed a single drop of tear today even though it is hurting her more than before

Instead, she looks at the empty field.....

The players are entering the field with the cheerleaders. Jennie isn't part of the cheerleader team because her parents didn't allow her to participate after what Jisoo said about her in the masquerade. This is the only punishment they gave her. Funny how easy it is for Jennie to get out of everything unscarred even after doing such things

Jennie screams from her seat

"Go, baby. Crush them" she says

Jisoo looks at Taehyung, he is looking very serious and is warming up. Then she sees Yoongi in the field too. It seems as if he is looking for someone in the audience. Instead of warming up like others, his eyes are circling round the audience. After a minute of searching his eyes get fixed on someone... Jisoo

He waves at her and Jisoo smiles or at least pretends to smile

The match begins and the entire field gets filled with cheers. Jisoo can barely focus on the match. Yoongi scores the first goal and looks immediately at Jisoo. Everyone is standing up cheering for him but she is the only one sitting, looking down... Taehyung sees that Yoongi instead of celebrating is looking at someone in the audience. He follows his gaze and finds Jisoo too. She doesn't seem fine, she isn't even looking at the match

However, the game continues and Jisoo's school wins the match by 6-4 goals. The last goal is scored by Taehyung when there are about 10 seconds left in the match. Everyone roars screaming his name and as soon as the timer ends the entire school celebrates. Jisoo didn't even focus on the game once. She looked down throughout the entire match and couldn't think of anything, just how void her life has become. In the end, she gets up and leaves the field.

Yoongi sees Jisoo leaving and instead of celebrating with his team, he leaves the field too to try to catch up with Jisoo

"Jisoo wait up," he says

Jisoo looks back

"Yoongi, what are you doing here? Your match is going on" she says

"UHH-- the match just ended and we won.. You were there the whole time. How come you don't know?" he asks

"Oh, I just.. I mean I saw..." Jisoo fails to find words

"Jisoo what is wrong? I know something isn't right just by looking at you" he asks

"I don't want to spoil your mood. Please go ahead and celebrate. This is huge and I am really happy for you" Jisoo says

"Listen, nothing matters right now. What matters is that you're not smiling and I need to see that stupid smile on your face cause you look better with it" he says

"What happened Jisoo?" he asks again and walks closer to her

"Yoongi, forgive me but I don't think that I deserve your friendship. I am such a bad person and I don't deserve to have any friends. At least that's what Lisa and Rose think. They know me the best so if that's what they say then it must be true" she says

"WAIT WHAT? DID THEY SAY THAT? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THEM?" he says being extremely angry

"They are right. I did exactly what Jennie did to me and hid it from them. I am the worst person here" Jisoo says

"Hey Hey," Yoongi says in a warm voice and pats Jisoo's head

"Listen to me, You're the purest and most innocent girl that I've ever seen. And don't let anyone make you feel otherwise. Even I was disappointed when I first heard it but I know the real JISOO. I know the kind of person that you are. Don't put yourself down for a single mistake. True friends can be mad at you all they want but they'd never insult you or bring your pride down like this" Yoongi says

"I don't feel good about myself. I can't even look at the mirror--" Jisoo replies

"If I had that pretty face and that pretty smile and that heart of gold, I won't stop looking at the mirror, trust me" Yoonigi says and smiles at Jisoo

Jisoo smiles at him too. He is the only one who trusts her and makes her feel good about herself.

"Now forget about everyone else and focus on yourself. You need to love yourself and you'll realize that you don't need ANYBODY for you. You are enough for yourself" he adds

"Yoongi there you are. Come inside. They are gonna give the trophy now" the coach says from behind

"Coming," Yoongi replies and looks at Jisoo

"I need to go," he says

"Yeah, sure. Congratulations Yoongi" Jisoo says and Yoongi starts walking inside

But something stops him. Yoongi can feel mild pain in his chest. He worked himself up again for the game today. He looks back at Jisoo and says

"JISOO, DON'T BE AFRAID TO LOSE PEOPLE FROM YOUR LIFE. ALWAYS BE AFRAID TO LOSE YOUR TRUE SELF. IF YOU KEEP BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF, NO ONE ELSE'S OPINION REALLY MATTERS. I NEVER SAID THIS, BUT YOU MAKE ME PROUD OF THE PERSON THAT YOU ARE. AFTER EVERYTHING THAT has HAPPENED YOU'RE STILL SHINING LIKE A START AND LET NOBODY ELSE DIM YOUR LIGHT"

Jisoo feels better hearing this. Yoongi is proud of her. She hasn't heard those words in ages

"Thank you Yoongi, for everything. I am lucky to have a friend like you," Jisoo says

Yoongi doesn't reply. Instead, he smiles and walks inside

Jisoo watches him go and feels astonished at how he managed to make her feel good about herself again. He's like a magician and Jisoo feels grateful to have him in her life

Jisoo comes back home and she feels different. Yoongi said that he trusts her that made her feel so much better. She has regained a bit of her confidence back. Her parents aren't home yet. She stands in front of the mirror and looks at her for quite a long time. Her face looks exhausted.

"That pretty smile" Jisoo remembers what Yoongi told him

She smiles at the mirror and for the first time, she realizes that she doesn't look as bad as she thought while smiling. Instead, she feels pretty today, she doesn't feel like a criminal. She looks at herself knowing that she has always cared about Lisa and Rose and valued them in her life. She puts herself in their shoes. If she was in their place and her friend hid it from her, the first thing she would be concerned about is how her friend is doing, if they are alright or not. After all, they've been together for years. How can a tower that they built for such a long time break apart in just a single wave? It was never strong to withstand the wave in the first place" she thinks and keeps looking at the mirror

"How did Yoongi manage to see the beauty in her that she has never seen before?"

Suddenly she receives a call. It's from Taehyung. She doesn't pick it up. Soon she receives a message from him

"I am outside your house. Are you inside? Can you come out? I have something to tell you" the message says

Jisoo gets confused at his message. What is he doing here? What does he want to say?

"I am not home," she writes in the message

"Can you meet me in the central park today at 8? Please? I won't ever ask you for anything else. Just today. And please wear the black dress that you wore on our first date to the carnival" Taehyung writes

"I can't"

"I'll wait for you and keep waiting until you come. And you know that I am stubborn. You have to come, please"

Jisoo doesn't reply. Instead, she heads upstairs to her room and peeks through the window. Taehyung is standing right in front of her house and is looking at his phone.

"I won't leave from here until you agree. I'll stay here, in front of your house all day if the need be. Sooner or later you'll come home and see me standing here, waiting for you" he writes again

"My parents are gonna be home soon. SO PLEASE LEAVE"

"Not until you agree"

Jisoo sees the clock and it's 4. Her parents are gonna come anytime soon and after what she told about Taehyung in the masquerade, they were already sad that Jisoo didn't share it with them and kept the whole thing to herself. She doesn't want them to see Taehyung again

"Please leave"

"Say yes"

Jisoo sees her parents' car on the far side of the road...

"Yes yes... I'll come. Now leave" she writes

"Wearing that dress?"

"Taehyung, I said yes. Will you leave now?"

She sees that Taehyung smiled after reading her message and he walks off. She hasn't seen him smile that often

It's 8 pm and Jisoo is extremely nervous. What does Taehyung want to say to her? She looks through her closet and finds the dress Taehyung talked about. The black dress. She still remembers their first date to the carnival. Taehyung won so many toys for her and she had the best day ever

She puts the dress on but doesn't put any makeup. Just brushes her hair casually and leaves. She reaches the park and looks around for Taehyung. Taehyung sees her from far and walks towards her. Jisoo spots him too and sees that he is wearing the same black shirt that he wore on the first date. He looks exactly like he did that day

"What is it?" she asks

"You're looking pretty" Taehyung replies

"Why did you call me here?" Jisoo asks without responding to his compliment

"To make things right" Taehyung replies

"Listen, if you are going to beat around the bush and talk with riddles then I'll leave," Jisoo says and as she starts walking Taehyung says

"I broke up with Jennie" making Jisoo stop on her way. She looks back but doesn't say anything

"I broke up with her today"

"Why are you telling me that?" Jisoo asks being completely thrown off the track hearing about their breakup

"I want to apologize to you Jisoo. I am sorry. For everything that I did to you. I was stupid, reckless, and selfish. But you've made me realize a lot of things. One of which is that I Love You. And this time I mean it. With all my heart" Taehyung says

"I want you in my life again Jisoo. But not like before. This time, I'll treat you like you deserve to be treated. I'll make up for everything. I'll make it up, I swear. See, these letters" Taehyung takes some envelope out from his bag

"These are from you, remember?. I read them every single day. I get jealous when I see you with someone else. It makes me angry more than anything else. forgive me this once and you won't regret it. Please forget everything and start a new life with me. Let's take this as our first date. I know you love me a lot Jisoo. I've always seen it in your eyes. And this time I'll love you more than that. I don't want to keep lying to myself" he says

Jisoo listens to him and this is the last thing she expected to happen. Taehyung wants her back, she has always wished for this. For Taehyung to realize his mistakes and see Jisoo's value in his life

"you know, I've always pictured a future for us together. I always imagined how it would be like to spend the rest of my life with you. But you never saw me like that" she says

"This time I will. I won't make a single mistake. I have finally realized it Jisoo and I mean it" Taehyung says in a desperate voice

"But what cost did I have to pay? For you to realize it? Was it worth it?" Jisoo says and gets tears in her eyes. This is the first time she is shedding tears today. She didn't shed it when Lisa and Rose insulted her. She kept being strong. But as usual, Taehyung breaks her like no one else

"I lost everything. My confidence, my self-respect, my friends. I started doubting myself, kept comparing myself to Jennie, kept putting me down and even blamed me for the breakup when all I did was love you" she says

"Do you know what these days felt like to me? It's suffocating. And you're in love with me because now I wear more girly dresses, I attend parties often? But what if from tomorrow, I become the old Jisoo? Nerd Jisoo. The one who wouldn't go to those fancy parties but would rather stay in her room solving a math problem? The one who wouldn't let you touch her or do anything to her? I know that it would change your mind again" she says

"No. not this time. Nothing can change my mind cause I know that this is true love. I've never felt for anyone like this before. And if you don't attend parties and decide to stay at home, I'll be the one who'll be right next to you, seeing you solve these math problems that would take me days to solve. I don't need you in those short dresses. Whatever you wear, I'll fall deeper for you. I've realized it. That I love you for the person that you are. The rest doesn't matter" he says

"Your realization stripped me off of everything I cherished in my life. It took away everything I treasured and has left me alone" Jisoo replies

"Not alone. I am with you Jisoo and I will be with you always. I will be that guy in your life who'll never doubt you, will never lose trust in you, who'll be by your side whenever you need me and who'll love you to the moon and back. You don't want to let go of a guy who'd do everything for you, trust me" Taehyung says being very convincing

Suddenly, hearing it from Taehyung, Jisoo realizes something

"Do you really think that I shouldn't let a guy like that go away from my life?" Jisoo asks

"No Jisoo. I am that guy. Please give me another chance" Taehyung says

"No, actually you're not that guy. I already have someone like that in my life. And now that I think about it, I NEED TO GO......TO HIM.... I HAVE TO CONFESS. All this time he made me feel so good about myself and lifted me in ways that no one else did that I didn't realize that I fell for him. Being around you increases my heartbeat and I feel weak but that is because once I loved you the most. But being around him makes me feel like myself. My true self. Shit, Taehyung. I think I love him" Jisoo says being surprised at her sudden realization
