《I Still Belong To You - Taekook Love Story》09 - Accident

Tomorrow is the day before the festival which has a carnival, a market and a final dance. All the first years were busy with the preparations. Liza is incharge of the ball room decorations and she has some last minute items to buy.
"Taehyung, we are still missing few items. Can you go buy them? It should be bit heavy so take a student with you also." She asked from Taehyung.
"Sure I'll go." Taehyung replied and looked around for a available student and sees Jungkook already walking towards him.
Jungkook comes to stand near and waits without saying anything, not even looking at the elder. Taehyung roll his eyes but doesn't say anything either, while Liza watches the pair curiously.
"We'll go in 5 minutes" Taehyung looks sideways at Jungkook and sees the younger boy give a little nod and return to where he was.
Taehyung involuntary give a loud sigh and Liza is quick to catch on it.
"So, who's that guy? I'm suprised you are letting anyone get that close. I thought the door to your heart was closed tight. How did he managed to break it?" Liza asked with a dramatic expression.
"It's complicated." Taehyung sighed again and replied. Liza taps her fingernails on the table and Taehyung knows that she's waiting for a further explanation.
"He didn't had to break the door. He had a spare key. That's my ex boyfriend" Taehyung finally replied.
"OH MY GOD!!" Liza screamed getting everyone's attention.
"Please be quiet" Taehyung growled.
He could see Jungkook looking at him with an amused face. Taehyung groaned internally.
"Yeah, whatever, just give me the list. And please close your mouth. A fly might go in." Taehyung got the list from Liza's hand and walked towards the door.

He didn't had to look back to see Jungkook following.
The silence was getting bit uncomfortable so Taehyung decided to start a conversation. He was anyway curious about some stuff.
"So..."
"Yeah?..."
"So you travelled?"
"Yes."
"Whole 3 years?"
"Yeah pretty much"
"Where?"
"All over the world. Europe, middle east, parts of Asia. I even went to Greenland. It was damn cold. I was at America mostly though."
"I didn't know you were a travelling type"
"I wasn't. That's why I went. I-I was trying not to be me."
Taehyung could understand that very well. For the past 3 years, he didn't want to be himself too. Jungkook was surprised with Taehyung's questions. He always tried to avoid a conversation with Jungkook let alone start one. But Jungkook wasn't complaining. He was ready to answer each and every question the elder had.
"Ok" Taehyung said with a note of finality and went back to silently driving.
Jungkook was bit upset but decided to go with he flow. Baby steps. But it's better than nothing right.
At the supermarket, they bought all the stuff they need and Liza was right, it was bit heavy to be carried by one person. When Taehyung was at the checkout counter, Jungkook went get 2 juice bottles. Banana for him and blackcurrant for Taehyung.
Once they were back in the car, Jungkook gave the juice bottle to Taehyung. He looked at the bottle for few seconds but didn't accept it.
"I just bought it from there. I didn't make it myself or anything you know. You can have it"
Taehyung waited for another few seconds before finally accepting and drank the juice.
Both of them returned to the ball room where Liza and others were decorating and gave the stuff they brought.

"Hi. I'm Liza. Taehyung's friend" Liza extended her hand to Jungkook, ignoring Taehyung's silent protests and eye roll.
"Jungkook. Nice to meet you" Jungkook replied politely, after all, she was a teacher.
Liza gave a chuckle.
"Good to finally meet you too. I hope we can catchup sometime" Liza said with a full smile while Taehyung snorted.
Jungkook nodded his head and went back to his friend.
"What do you have to catchup with him?" Taehyung asked sulking.
"Oh I don't know. He seems nice. Very easy on the eye." Liza replied with a mischievous look.
"Liza for God's sake-"
"Alright alright, I'm just kidding. I won't be stealing your precious Kookie" Liza said raising her hand while laughing.
Taehyung gave a little eye roll but then he was laughing too.
Everyone was busy with their work, trying to make tomorrow's event a success. Jungkook was laughing with his friends and Taehyung couldn't keep his eyes off of him. He was laughing his head off for apparently something that his pink haired friend, Jimin said.
Jungkook caught Taehyung looking at him few times but the elder couldn't care less. They both knew this game was nearing it's end. But Taehyung had to admire how the younger boy is trying to claim what was his in a headstrong way.
Jungkook has always been like that. Nothing can come between him and what he wants. Taehyung kind of felt good to be owned by someone that strongly.
Everyone was doing the final touches. Jungkook was painting the stars on the floor. Even after years later, Taehyung wasn't sure whether he really heard the small sound of metal scratching with all the noise going on at the hall.
He only had a feeling of dread and a feeling that something bad was going to happen. He instinctively ran towards the love of his life, whom he had to protect at any cost and without whom he would not able to live.
Taehyung reached Jungkook just as the huge metal board was about to fall on him and managed to push the younger boy out of danger zone. But there wasn't enough time to get himself fully out and a small part of the metal board made contact with his arm, instantly making him fall to the floor and be unconscious due to the immense pain.

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
