"Ron, is your brother, alright?" I whispered towards Ron and secretly pointing at Percy.
"He's still a bit bitter because Y/N was placed in Slytherin instead of Gryffindor, well. We all are furious about it." Ron sighs.
But then we heard a ding on a cup, "Your attention, please." Professor McGonagall spoke.
Dumbledore had gotten to his feet. He was beaming at the students, and his arms opened wide as if nothing could have pleased him more than to see them all there.
"Welcome," he said. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!
"Thank you!" He sat back down. Everybody clapped and cheered. I didn't know whether to laugh or not.
"Is he -- a bit mad?" I asked Percy uncertainly.
"Mad?" said Percy airily. "He's a genius! Most skilled wizard in the world! But he is a bit mad, yes. Potatoes, Harry?"
I didn't notice that food magically appears on all the tables, and the hall is filled with awe and chatter.
"Wow." I stared at the food; the meals in front of me were now piled with food. I had never seen so many things I liked to eat on one table: roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops and lamb chops, sausages, bacon and steak, boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, fries, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and, for some strange reason, peppermint humbugs.
Seamus Finnigan, a tiny boy, speaks. "I'm half and half. Me dad's a Muggle. Mam's a witch. Bit of a nasty shock for him when he found out." Neville laughs.'
"What about you, Neville?" said Ron.
"Well, my gran brought me up, and she's a witch," said Neville,
"but the family thought I was all-Muggle for ages. My Great Uncle Algie kept trying to catch me off my guard and force some magic out of me -- he pushed me off the end of Blackpool pier once, I nearly drowned -- but nothing happened until I was eight. Great Uncle Algie came round for dinner, and he was hanging me out of an upstairs window by the ankles when my Great Auntie Enid offered him a meringue, and he accidentally let go. But I bounced -- all the way down the garden and into the road. They were all pleased; Gran was crying, she was so happy. And you should have seen their faces when I got in here -- they thought I might not be magic enough to come, you see. Great Uncle Algie was so pleased he bought me my toad. " Neville said.
I lean closer to Percy, "Say, Percy, who's that teacher talking to Professor Quirrell?" I pointed at the Professors.
"Oh, that's Professor Snape, head of Slytherin house. He's one of Y/N uncle," He said as he pointed at the girl who is eating and having a conversation with one of the students at her house.
"What's he teach?" I asked. "Potions. But everyone knows it's the Dark Arts he fancies. He's been after Quirrell's job for years. Furthermore, better sit next to Y/N in potions, she's good in potions mostly all classes." Percy smiled over the girl in the other table.
"Do you like her?" his eyes went wide but before he can reply. Ron, having just finished a chicken wing, reaches into the bowl for more, and a ghostly head pops out.

"That does look good," said the ghost in the ruff sadly, "Can't you?"
"I haven't eaten for nearly five hundred years," said the ghost.
"I don't need to, of course, but one does miss it. I don't think I've introduced myself? Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington at your service. Resident ghost of Gryffindor Tower. "
"Sir Nicholas. Have a nice summer?" said Percy.
"Dismal. Once again, my request to join the headless hunt has been denied." he turned around and about to leave.
"I know who you are!" blurted Ron. "My brothers told me about you -- you're Nearly Headless Nick!" "I would prefer you to call me Sir Nicholas de Mimsy -- " the ghost began stiffly.
"Nearly headless? How can you be nearly headless?" Hermione said, "Like this." he grabs his head and pulls it to the side. His head is hanging on just by a thread.
"Ahh!" Ron screamed.
"Eugh."
"So -- new Gryffindors! I hope you're going to help us win the house championship this year? Gryffindors have never gone so long without winning. Slytherins have got the cup six years in a row! The Bloody Baron's becoming almost unbearable, he's the Slytherin ghost."
I looked over at the Slytherin table and saw a horrible ghost sitting there, with blank staring eyes, a gaunt face, and robes stained with silver blood. He was talking to Y/N; she doesn't seem to be scared of him.
"How did he get covered in blood?" asked Seamus with great interest.
"I've never asked," said Nearly Headless Nick delicately. Then he looked around our table, "Where is Y/N?" He asked.
"The Slytherin got her," The twins said and pointed at the (Y/H/C) hair girl with (Y/E/C) talking to bloody Baron and some other Slytherin students.
"How can a sweet girl can be placed there." Lee Jordan said as we all looked at Y/N.
"Remember, she's can snap real quick, and it was scary." Sir Nicholas shivered as he rubs his arms.
"I'm telling you all first years, she might be an angel, but if you don't want to see the devil better not make her angry, it's for your safety. I'm sure the other ghost told their first years too." he pointed at the other ghost telling them something.
But then Y/N stood up from her seat, and I observed her. She went to her grandfather and whispered something then he whispered back. She nodded her head and went back to her house table.
But then she glance at me and smiled, but then Professor Dumbledore "And now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song!" cried Dumbledore. I noticed that the other teachers' smiles had become rather fixed and even Y/N.
Dumbledore gave his wand a little flick as if he was trying to get a fly off the end, and a long golden ribbon flew out of it, which rose high above the tables and twisted itself, snakelike, into words.
"Everyone pick their favourite tune," said Dumbledore, "and off we go!"
And the school bellowed:
"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now, they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,

So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot, just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot. "
Everybody finished the song at different times. At last, only the Weasley twins were left singing along to a plodding funeral march. Dumbledore conducted their last few lines with his wand, and when they had finished, he was one of those who clapped loudest.
"Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here! And now, bedtime. Off you trot!"
Us the Gryffindor first years followed Percy through the chattering crowds, out of the Great Hall, and up the marble staircase. I felt my legs were like lead again, but only because I'm exhausted and full of food. I'm too sleepy even to be surprised that the people in the portraits along the corridors whispered and pointed as we passed, or that twice Percy led us through doorways hidden behind sliding panels and hanging tapestries. We climbed more staircases, yawning and dragging our feet, and I'm wondering how much farther we had to go when we came to a sudden halt.
A bundle of walking sticks was floating in midair ahead of us, and as Percy took a step toward us, they started throwing themselves at him.
"Peeves," Percy whispered to the first years. "A poltergeist. " He raised his voice, "Peeves -- show yourself. "
A loud, rude sound, like the air being let out of a balloon, answered.
"Do you want me to go to the Bloody Baron?"
There was a pop, and a little man with wicked, dark eyes and a wide mouth appeared, floating cross-legged in the air, clutching the walking sticks.
"Oooooooh!" he said, with an evil cackle. "Ickle Firsties! What fun!" He swooped suddenly at them. We all ducked.
"Go away, Peeves or the Baron'll hear about this, I mean it! Or more worst, I'll tell Y/N to ignore you forever!" barked Percy.
Peeves stuck out his tongue and vanished, leaving the walking sticks on Neville's head. We heard him humming away, knocking coats of armour as he passed.
"You want to watch out for Peeves," said Percy, as we set off again. "The Bloody Baron's the only one who can control him, and he won't even listen to us prefects, but he does to Y/N, no one still knows how or what she did. Here we are. "
At the very end of the corridor hung a portrait of a very fat woman in a pink silk dress.
"Password?" she said.
"Caput Draconis," said Percy, and the portrait swung forward to reveal a round hole in the wall. We all scrambled through it -- Neville needed a leg up -- and found ourselves in the Gryffindor common room, a cosy, round room full of squashy armchairs.
꧁☬⋆ᵞᴼᵁᴿ ᴾᴼᵛ⋆☬꧂
"You can always join your roommates if you want, don't worry, they are nice." Hazel Jones, our prefect, said as we all or mostly my fellow first-year Slytherin students will be going to their dorm and common room.
"I think I'll check who will be there," I said shyly; I'm not used to be sleeping or having roommates.
I heard there should be five people sharing the room, "You'll be fine." Everett Martin, our other prefect.
Once we are on the dungeon, "Password?" the portrait asked, "Pure-blood," The portrait opened.
"Alright, girl dorm is on the left while the boys are in the right, no boys are allowed to be in the girl's dorm nor the girls in the boy's dorm.
I went with the girls, and I will be only checking or maybe try to sleep at my dorm for once. Just to try and if I don't like it I can always go back to my old room, that's what grandpa told me.
I saw my name to one of the rooms,
"Pansy Parkinson
Millicent Bulstrode
Daphne Greengrass
Y/N Dumbledore
Kayden Knight"
Kayden Knight? Isn't that a boy's name? Once the girls who are supposed to be my roommate are beside me, but there are only three of them.
I opened the door, and there was a person, short dark brown with green eyes, with a bit of freckels.
"AAHHH! THERE'S A IN OUR ROOM!" Pansy screamed, we heard running footsteps; it was our fellow classmates.
"What?! LET US THROUGH!" The two prefects went to us; they checked our room and saw the person.
"Who are you?!" Hazel yelled as she pointed her wand to the boy.
"I told everyone that BOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IN THE GIRLS DORM." Everett glared as he did the same thing, he pointed his wand at him.
"Excuse me, but my name is outside." We all stared at him confused, and we checked the names again, wait, is he Kayden?
"Are you Kayden Knight?" I asked as I walked towards him, but Everett stopped me by grabbing my wrist, I took his hands off me.
"Boys are not allowed here," I said.
He sighed and rubbed the back of his name, "I'm a girl, you see, they got me a wrong uniform. It's confusing because my name is for boys and I kinda look like one." we all looked at him-her shock.
"What-"
"If you all want, I can strip here. Just to prove it." She took her robes off, but I stopped her.
"No, no, no. I mean you sound like a girl but somehow still sound like a boy. Let me just call-"
"Ah, Ms Knight, I see that you got in trouble first day, huh." We all turned around and saw uncle, Severus.
"M-ms?" Hazel said with widening eyes.
"Kayden Knight is a girl though she looks like a boy and tall for her age." my uncle said.
"No way," Everett said.
"HOW COME SHE'S A PRETTY BOY!" He added.
"Are we all done now? Can I change to my pyjamas now?" Kayden looked at us with a confused look.
"Ah yes, of course. I'm sorry about this." I chuckled, I extended my hands out, "Y/N Dumbledore." I smiled, she stared at me and to my hand, he- I mean she shook my hands.
"Kayden Knight, at your service... princess," she bowed, I chuckled at her reaction.
"Alright, go to sleep now and Y/N. If you don't want to stay-"
"No, I would like to stay here. Can I bring my stuff here?" I asked my uncle, he looked at me and Kayden then nodded his head,
"I'll let the others know, Ms Knight, I hope you know your job." He looked at her.
"Yes, sir." She salutes.
