《Song For Two (Athanasia × Lucas)》Chapter 23

My eyes widened, I bit my lower lip as I felt my breath going unstable as my heart began to race yet again. I really thought that he would oppose it, telling me that I am thinking about such stuff again. I slowly swallowed the invisible but unknown lump inside my throat, closing my eyes shut, ignoring his continuing eye contact with me.
I heard how a chuckle came out from his lips, making my blood rush up to my cheeks. This goddamn man surely is playing with me. About to open my mouth as I took a deep breath, but the second I faced him properly, we heard the announcer slash host's voice.
"Pardon for all the students who are outside the hall, please do come back inside for we will be serving the deserts." I gritted my teeth, I completely lost my chance to ask him if it was true! I turned my head back to Lucas before batting an eye on him.
"We are going to talk about this later." Those words left my lips, as I turned around I did not see the surprised look on Lucas' face, as he snorts lightly before shaking his head softly, walking back behind me without knowing how much fun he was having with how I react.
As we sat back to our seats, I felt the awkward atmosphere between Ejikiel and Jennette leaving me squint my eyes, creasing my forehead at them. Ejikiel felt the presence of my eyes daunting at them, making the man quickly hold the glass of wine in front of him and almost drank all of it with just one chug.
"Is something wrong with them?" I leaned a little close to Lucas who obviously had his thoughts drifting away. He shrugs his shoulders, before leaning his back to his chair a lot more comfortably, and closing his eyes. I scoffed in disbelief before making face in front of him. "So how was your guys' dance?" I tilted my head to see Jennette's face a little better but she quickly changed her position.

"It.. was fine." Jennette answered, not even trying to look into my eyes. An amused smile slowly crept to my lips. Did something happen? Both of them were not even looking at each other and the mere fact that their chairs that were close earlier were now inches away from each other! I shook and my head, thinking that I should not push them any further anymore. It'll just be a lot more awkward if I do so too!
"I just wanted to tell you that, at first I've never liked you as a Knight of the Princess, but as time went and it passes by I saw how you've deeply and dearly care for her Highness which being the one who took care of her, made me happy and delighted. As the time passes by, the Princess started to trust and love you dearly Felix but.." I thought to myself while I was mentally preparing myself to what Lily was about to say. "but it was not only the Princess who started to trust and love you dearly, Felix. I, too started to feel these weird feelings that I've never felt in my life." As those words left Lily's left, with the shining blue moon on top of us shined a lot more brightly making me see her flushed face.
My heart began to race as a smile came across my lips. So that was why his Majesty had a cheeky look while telling me to check on the Princess' Palace. "Lily.."
The ball ended, Ejikiel and Jennette quickly separated their ways making me look to the left where Ejikiel was walking and to the right where Jennette was walking. My palm found its way to my forehead, inhaling deeply while shutting my eyes tightly at the two of them. "Lucas."

Lucas who was beside me leaned a little bit close making my heart skipped its beat. "What?" His voice was soft yet horse at the same time making me gulp and move a little away from him. Making Lucas tilt his head and yet again, shrug both of his shoulders.
"Wait here, okay!?" Widening my eyes at him, Lucas replied with a snicker. I rolled my eyes at him, and with great speed quickly walked my way to where Jennette was. But before holding onto Jennette's arm, I looked back and a small smile went across my face seeing Lucas did not even bother to move—waiting for me.
"Jennette!" I called out for her, Jennette quickly turned around, with a flushed face, widened lips, and big round eyes looking directly at mines.
"H-huh?" That was the only word she muttered after that, she yet again tried to avoid my gaze for almost the 123456789th time! But this time, I am not letting her go anywhere! I quickly wrapped my arm with hers, linking it together. "A-Athy, it's nothing. Really!"
"Huh? Nothing? The both of you looked so awkward with each other and—for you knowledge, never in my whole life I have seen the two of you that awkward. Even you–" I leaned a little closer to Jennette, sighing deeply. "–even you are hiding your feelings toward Ejikiel, never have you been this awkward around him, Jennette."
I saw how she slowly gulped an invisible lump inside her throat, her words were telling me that what I was saying was wrong but her action and reactions was saying otherwise. I stopped in the middle of our tracks, making Jennette who had her arms linked with mine freeze on the spot.
"If it's okay with you, would you share it with me?"
FELIX'S P.O.V
"Lily, to be honest—I was caught off guard. Ever since you've always had that cold aura around me. But yes, I am very thankful that I have gained the Princess and yours favor. But—" I could not even finish what I was saying when her eyes widened, and both the palm of her hands found its way to my mouth, covering it.
"Don't say it! I-If you are going to reject me just don't say it o-or I will–" She was stuttering while looking around. "Or I will uh—kick you!"
I chuckled, and removed both of her hand from my mouth. Smiling at her, Lily looked away. "What I meant was, thank you for telling me what you feel Lily. I have grown to love you too."
"Promise me one thing Athy, we will keep this a secret not until Ejikiel wants us to talk about it, okay?" Jennette whispered to my right ear, I quickly nodded my head. Anticipated to what Jennette was about to say.
Jennette took a deep and long breath, her eyes wandering around us. She bit her lower lip before leaning a little close to me, still looking around. "I... we.."
"Whaaat??"
"I.. we.. accidentally kissed."
"WHAT?"
