I took a deep breath and gulped slowly as I looked at myself in front of the mirror. I chuckled to myself, we really did go as planned. My hair was braided into a waterfall braid.

"You look stunning, Princess." Lily, who came all the way from the Imperial Palace to our Academy just to take care and help me prepare for the ball blurts out with a smile.

"Still, I am very sorry if you had to travel all the way here–" Lily's eyes widened as she aggresively shook her head, meaning that it was okay.

"Do not say sorry, Princess. I am very happy that I am here to help you with you very first ball with your friends inside the Academy. Of course, His Majesty also wanted you to look at your best too." She giggled, making me giggle too because of her reply.

"Good Evening!" Jennette giggled as soon as she saw me. Walking while running, she wrapped her arms around me; hugging me tightly while giggling.

"Stop using me as your pillow just because you feel like your blood is boiling because your partner is Ejikiel." I teased her, making her eyes look at me. I saw how it widenes and how her cheeks were tinted red.

"Hey, stop teasing me like that. My cheeks feel like it's going to burts anytime!" She whispered back to me, I giggled and looked at her back. Saw Lucas and Ejikiel walking side by side.

They were right in front of the main building where the ball will be held. Rumors has it that Lucas was the one who helped them with his magic.

"Good Evening." They both said in sync, i with Jennette did the same as we greeted them with a smile.

"Well then, I will now be saying my goodbyes. Enjoy the rest of your night you two!" Jennette widened her eyes at me, making me scoff a little.

Ejikiel who could not say anything and was softly getting dragged by Jennette just nodded his head at me with a smile.

Lucas awkwardly looked at me, making my eyebrows furrow. Was there a problem? I was about to open my mouth and ask him but I could not even do it because he cuts me off by saying—

"I-I wanted to say sorry how I reacted when I saw you with Ejikiel. I never wanted to make you feel like uncomfortable with me." He straightly blurts out making me stunned and surprised. I smiled, and yet again was about to speak up but he continued to talk. "I know you've been friends with him for a while and I did not wish to break your bond. I did not even know why I reacted that why. I just want to clarify it and say sorry to you—"

I giggled making him stop. "It's okay, and yes. At first, I was really confused why were you acting like that– but now that you said sorry it's all right with me now. Stop being sad and smile, let's just have fun today, shall we partner?" Raising an eyebrow, Lucas did the same and now I felt how his cocky personality came back again.

Walking inside, held hands. His soft gloves was slowly placed onto my hands that was wearing laced gloves. I chuckled as I saw everyone gazing at us.

Really? Was this that a big deal to them? I thought to myself. I sighed and glanced at Lucas for a second and saw how his eyes also laid onto mine.

Quickly ignoring the eye contact, I tried to find where out assigned seats were. "Come on, start helping me trying to find where out seats are." I said as I softly shook out intertwined hands.

"Aren't our assigned seats are placed on the front?" With what he said, I quickly remembered where we were going to sit. Walking side by side with Lucas, I ignored all their stares and just continued to walk. Giving them attention may just heat up some converaation that might ruin the ball that everyone was anticipating for to happen.

"My! You look stunning!" Our friends from the class who were at the same seat as ours showered me with compliments, so did they for Lucas. "I never knew that Lucas would look so handsome when he wears suits!"

As we sat down, I guess we just forgot to let go of each other's hand. Lucas was not the same as before when I talk to other guys. He just shuts up and let me have fun, which I think was very great of him even though I do not know why he was acting like that in the first place.

"Do you even know how hard it was to find something that matches her dress?" The man points at her partner making everyone around the circle laugh, even Lucas.

"Yeah, I felt the same way too!" Another man agreed, the girls started to answer back and it ended up being a chaotic yet fun table for them.

"I am very happy that everyone came to the ball. I know that ever since the Academy started to take in students, everyone was requesting for a ball. Yet, I did not want it to happen. Im sorry–" The students laughed when the Principal said that. He cleared his throat and brought back his posture. "–I now will always allow a ball to happen before your graduation happens. It'll be a fun event and memorable one for everyone. Every single year there will be balls for the graduating students. For now, since it's out first ball all of the students in different years are invited." The Principal smiled, the students went crazy. Some whistled, stood up and started clapping. The whole hall went crazy. "Have a lot of fun and enjoy the rest of the night!"

The ball continued, not until it was time to dance. Everyone asked their partners to dance with them, including Lucas who was currently asking my permission if we could dance together.

And yes, of course I SAID YES! As his left hand was placed on my waist softly, still giving me some space. His right and my left hands were intertwined, my right hand on his shoulder.

As we softly moved with the soothing music that was currently playing with a live orchestra, I smiled. "I never knew that you can dance like this Lucas, you always seemed to act like you were cool." I smiled at him in a teasing way.

He scoffed lightly making me giggle. "Really? Maybe because I was really cool?" He said, I raised both of my eyebrows. He spinned me around, it felt like it was in slow motion as I faced him again.

"Spinning me around now? Really? Never knew that the Master of the Tower of Magicians can be so– Romantic." I told him again, teasing him.

"I never knew the Princess can be so– cheeky." He told me back, we ended up making jokes at each other while dancing not until it was time to change up who you were going to dance with.

Ejikiel, asked me to dance with him. Lucas calmly said yes, and even smiled at us. I suddenly felt how his attitude changed which made me smile, I never liked the feeling of getting locked up like I was in some kind of cage really.

As I was dancing with Ejikiel, Lucas was there sitting silently. Eating some snacks that they gave him. He even smiled at me when our eyes met.

Ejikiel cleared his throat to get my attention, I looked at him, a bit confused really. "I do hope you do not mind but–"

"Hey, it is okay. You can ask me anything. What is it?"

"Do you perhaps have some sort of feelings for Lucas?" And that question, made me speechless.
