I felt the soft matress behind me, as I was avoiding eye contact with Lucas. His face was inches away from me because he was placing me down my bed!

"Why do you keep avoiding my gaze?" Lucas asked, I gulped and slowly looked at him. He was now getting back up. "You're still burning. What are you trying to do with your body? Die with it?" He said rolling his eyes before wandering around my room.

"S-Shut it. I'm okay, you can go—"

"And what? Leave you alone in that kind of state? Seriously Athanasia?" He said before looking back at me as he walked across my room.

"W-Where are you going, Lucas!?" I panicked as I tried to sit up, after failing miserably, I dropped and sighed deeply.

"Just lay down, I'm going to prepare a towel for you. LAY. DOWN." He said— actually no. He demanded me to just lay down, of course I did. I was having the worst headache ever!

Athanasia closed her eyes, finally her breathing stabled. I sighed as I poured the cold with ice on the towel, I shook my head and started to ask myself Why am I even doing this?

I looked back at Athanasia, and saw how peaceful she was sleeping. I scoffed for I thought that I was like her personal maid, even though I was debating with my mind. I still ended up putting the towel on top of her forehead.

"I'm coming back. Sleep." I said before standing up properly and quickly walked out of the door. Ah shoot, am I really putting some effort for that woman?

When I finally got inside my room, I quickly went to my small kitchen and started to collect some ingredients by using my magic

"A soup would be alright for her.. " I whispered to myself. Before cutting the ingredients I stopped, and scoffed at myself.

"My, Lucas. Why are you being like this?" I said before continuing. After finally finishing the soup for Athanasia, there wasn't that much time for me to run around the hallways, I quickly snapped my fingers and in a blink of an eye I was inside her room.

The princess was still sound asleep with her pouted lips. I sighed and sat down on the small chair beside her bed.

"You would.. probably make a good empress." I whispered while looking at her hair, without me even noticing it, I slowly caressed her soft and silky hair.

Yes, I couldn't even believe myself right now. I couldn't believe it that I was doing these kind of things that would probably look so romantic for everyone else.

I don't know why is this happening to me, I used to not care at what they say, what happens to them or what. It was always just about myself and not the people or even person around me.

I grew up like that, I thought that I never needed anyone for me to be happy. Not until, this princess showed up.

I was about to caress her cheeks when suddenly, someone at the door started to knock. I rolled my eyes and stood up, and saw how Athanasia's brow furrowed.

I was annoyed when I opened the door and was welcomed by the surprised face of Ejikiel. Silence was now eating us slowly, both were looking directly at each other's eyes. No one even dared to bat their pupil.

The man right in front of me cleared his throat awkwardly and I saw how his grip on his book tightened, I quickly raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

"Please do not throw you assumptions at me. I am merely just taking care of her highness." I said and Ejikiel glanced at me and smiled.

"Is she okay? Why didn't you call a doctor?" He said, and I saw how his eyes moved and was trying to look inside. I moved and slowly closed the door behind me. Leaving Athanasia some privacy.

"Yes, I can handle her by myself though." I said without even breaking the eye contact between us. "You can go, I would just feed her some soup and would go then."

"I cannot leave her highness with an unknown man, I am sorry for the word." Ejikiel said and that made me ticked a bit, I raised an brow and chuckled lightly.

"Her highness knows that I am helping her and same goes to you, I cannot leave her alone with a man." I heard how a tsk escaped Ejikiel's mouth. I sighed and rubbed my nape. "You can go, I can take care of her and check if this is about her mana again."

"I can contact his majesty for that."

"Oh my, you know that I was the one who helped her last time don't you?" A small smirk slowly formed on my lips.

"I do know, let me call Jennette we can help you in taking care of her highness." He said before walking away, I rolled my eyes before opening the door and saw how Athanasia tried to stand up but completely failed soon after.

"My, don't move too much. Come on, eat this." I said as I sat on the small chair beside her and snapped my fingers, there it appeared a spoon.

"I can eat by myself Lucas-"

"You can't even move properly and your whole face is flushed because you have a fever. Just shut up and open your mouth." I said, Athanasia quickly pouted her lips and sighed deeply before opening her mouth.

I continued to feed her not until we both heard multiple knocks on her door making Athanasia choke while eating, I quickly stood up and got her a water. I rolled my eyes and with an annoyed expression plastered on my face I opened the door.

"Lucas who's knock-"

"Athanasia!" Jennette's voice echoed, I quickly hissed and rubbed my ear lightly. I was never a big fan of Jennette in the first place.

"Jennette? My, I am sorry for disturb-"

"No, it's okay. I called for her." The door opened a little wider revealing Ejikiel that now changed his clothes and was holding a bowl of soup, I chuckled.

"I think she doesn't need that anymore." I blurted out while looking at the soup.
