"You don't like who, Athanasia?"

My eyes widened and turned around and saw Ejikiel. Oh gosh. Why is this happening to me again? Explain—

"It's nothing!" Jennette quickly answered trying to cover me up. Thank God, you did that Jennette.

"Yeah, it's nothing. We were just joking about some stuff, right Jennette?" I looked back at her, making my eyes wide and smiling widely making her laugh and nod at the same time.

Ejikiel chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, trying to just forget about what we were talking about.

"Exams are close, you guys started studying?" We both nodded, well. Exams are the worst! It literally can be the death of me.

"I'm sure Ejikiel will get the highest score again." Jennette said while pouting her lips making me laugh.

"Oh gosh! That's so true." I said while locking arms with Jennette, we were now walking around the academy.

"Hey stop being like that, I know you guys are going to get the highest scores too." He said scratching his nape.

He is indeed right. Ever since we started this academy thing, we've been fighting over the top 1 spot.

It's not like those fights when they literally do everything, a friendly fight some may say.

"Well then, I just wanna say goodluck to us!" I giggled, and the two of them did the same nodding their heads.

I feel like this year's exam will be fun!

It's been three days, and I was always inside the library. Studying until the sun goes down.

BUT! It's really my choice to study until midnight. Daddy doesn't want me to overwork myself, but I just want to prove myself.

Screech, the chair beside me made small noises. I quickly turned my head to my side and saw Lucas sitting down beside me while holding a book.

"Is that the only thing you're going to read?" I couldn't help but ask, I was curious! THIS EXAM WILL OBVIOUSLY TAKE A TOLL ON OUR GRADES IF YOU DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY.

"Do you really think I can't answer their questions, Athanasia?" He gave me the Are you serious look making me pout my lips and grabbing tightly on my book.

"Well then, goodluck to you!" I avoided his teasing gaze and continued reading but that only made him chuckle.

The whole library was silent, only the flipping of several book can be heard. However, what I heard the most was my heart beat.

I sighed deeply and tried to distract myself by reading. I didn't know whh but I feel so shy when Lucas is beside me!

"You okay?" He asked, making my eyes wide and coughing lightly. I avoided bid gaze again. Shaking pupils, I wandered around trying to come up with an excuse. "Yo, Princess. You okay there?"

I nodded my head, not even giving him a glimpse. I was holding my breath, and when I felt that he got back to his position, I exhaled and continued reading.

"Everyone.." He whispered making me stop, I stayed silent, waiting for him to continue what he was going to say. "They were talking about you guys will have a competition over the Top 1."

"OH? Really? I mean it's not really like that—"

"Let me join the fun."

Finally, I looked at him. Smirking, he looked back at me. Not even batting his eyes, he smiled. My eyes widened, mouth wide open.

"W-What are you talking about dummy!" I half shouted and whispered at him, making him chuckle in a sarcastic tone.

"Why? Are you guys scared that I'm going to beat you?" He said, giving me that competitive look.

"No, I am not scared that you'll beat me! IT—"

"Then let me join the fun, damn. School is boring. Why aren't you making me join the fun?" He pouted like a kid, I furrowed my brows.

JUST WHAT ARE YOU DOING LUCAS?!

"Argh, shut up." I tried ignoring him but he continued doing that chibi eyes, making me groan and finally nodding.

"Yes, well then. Let's have fun competing Athanasia!" He said happily making me more confused.

Just who thinks that competing is fun? Just him? Yeah. Just Lucas.

A week has passed, 5 more days and the exams are now coming close. Making me nervous.

As I walked inside the corridors, I heard whispering about the so-called-competition between us.

Whh did I even say yes!? Now, I am really REALLY nervous of what may happen.

I massaged my forehead while walking, not even looking at what's in front of me.

Boogsh! I crashed unto someone, almost making me fall down. Good thing someone behind me caught me before falling.

"Look where you're walking, Athanasia." The guy who caught me whispered making me stand up straight and turn around.

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth when I found out that it was Lucas.

"I'm sorry for bumping and not looking who's in fron—" I stopped in the middle of my sentence when I saw that it was Ejikiel.

I didn't know why but I felt like there was a huge rage of tension that's starting to build up in this very corridor.

No one was talking, everyone was watching. Lucas and Ejikiel was seriously looking at each other's eyes, my heart beating loudly as my breathing started to feel uneasy.

"Hey, you two. Let's just start studying shall—"

"Let's go to the Library Athanasia." They both said in sync, making my eyes wide. They looked at each other again.

Lucas furrowed his eyebrows, Ejikiel was still giving him to cold look. Gulping slowly and gripping tightly unto my book, I didn't know how to run away from this situation!

"I think that Athanasia will be more comfortable if she's with me, right?" Ejikiel asked me, I blinked my eyes.

"I do think that she'll be more comfortable when you're not there." Lucas answered back, adding fuel to the fire.

"Athy! Oh, what's happening?" Jennette suddenly popped out of nowhere making me smile.

"I'll be more comfortable with Jennette, thank you!" I said quickly pulling Jennette's hand and running away to nowhere.

Making the two men, dumbfounded and confused.

"Gosh Jennette, sometimes when you suddenly pop out of nowhere is the best!"

She tilted her head in confusion and I just laughed. I laughed it off, but I still can't forget the tension earlier.

Why were they looking at each other like that? I've never heard of Ejikiel and Lucas fighting.

And if they did fight, why? What was the reason?

Oh God, I should stop thinking about it! I mean, it's not my business at all.

I sighed and just found myself walking with Jennette to the library. We were giggling and telling each other what happened today.
