"C'mon! Just tell me!"
"And I said no!"
Athanasia and Lucas were arguing in the library. It all started with Athanasia meeting Lucas who is reading a book about time and instead of her looking for a book to study, she came onto him and ask about her dreams-nightmares.
Though she wouldn't ask him in the first place if he's not in her dreams but he is. Which was weird, she never even met him in the past and neither was close.
But in her dream, they are.
Very close she might add.
"Why don't you want to tell me? The dream was weirdly real and you were there! Every, single, time!!" Athanasia pouted, trying hard not to give the older a smack with her hardbound book.
"Princess, it's just a dream. Nothing more," Lucas retorted. He's praying hard for the princess to just shake it off and forget it.
He just wanted to read and find some research on the state she's in but this girl is getting on his nerves.
Even if he badly wanted to be with her, her safety is his top priority.
"But it felt so real!" Athanasia insisted.
Lucas shut his book close and face the younger. "Look princess, I can't tell you because I don't even know what you are talking about. There is no way that we could have met in the past nor we have a past together."
He felt a needle jabbed onto his chest saying that. And the fact that Athanasia also doesn't remember it hurts it even more.
"Then why are you reading that book?!" Athanasia pointed at the time book that Lucas is still holding. "There's no way that we don't have a past together if you are researching something from that."

Lucas was taken aback by what the princess said. Almost a bullseye. And by almost, he could make an excuse for that.
"Is there something bad happened in the past?"
And there. A straight bullseye. Lucas was cornered. He can't think of an excuse to say something to her.
He can't just straight up tell her the truth. Knowing her the truth will hurt her and seeing that will also hurt him. He can't afford to tell her. He need something to avoid this topic.
Think, Lucas! Fucking, think! He cursed in his mind. His eyes are slowly looking away from the younger's glaring ones.
Why is she so persistent in knowing the truth? The loop was destroyed, Nicholas was sealed in his trusty ol' jar. Why? Why is she slowly remembering the past?
Athanasia could have a new life in this timeline. Why are the gods torturing her so much?
"Lucas..." Athanasia's voice reached him. "If there is really a past between us and it's something that you won't tell me... Please, have faith in me. I can handle this."
In Athanasia's dream, Lucas was very gentle and loving towards her. There was never a time that he's not. At first, it surprised her but then, she loved it. And she wanted to experience it again.
To be loved by him.
Lucas stared at Athanasia with worry in his eyes. He could already imagine her reaction if he tell her.
But deeply he wanted to tell her the truth, to make her remember. The moment they have together in every timeline. How badly he wants her to remember.
Pursing his lips, Lucas looked away for a moment then go back to face her.
"I-"
"Athy, sweetie?"
The two turned their heads to see the empress of Obelia, Diana. She smiled at the two, a different smile that made Athanasia shiver. She knows what her mom is thinking right now.

"Y-Yes, mom?" Athanasia cleared her throat. She was about to glance at Lucas but the magician disappeared.
"It's almost lunch," Diana told her as she walks towards her. "I was thinking if we could go together."
"Sure mom." Athanasia smiled, forgetting Lucas as she faced her mother and followed her. "Shall we?"
Diana nodded, smiling back. "I heard that the food for lunch today is your favorites!"
"Really?!"
"Yep!"
"Then there's no time to waste! Let's go!"
"Ah, we have to call your father first!"

As far as Mai is concerned, mundane problems are more than enough to worry about, and the idea of magic and monsters might as well be nothing more than daydreams. At least, they were until she finds herself in the middle of an Anathema invasion… A Dark Magical Girl LitRPG with sci-fi elements. Note: Slow burn and gradual introduction of LitRPG mechanics that become a focal point once introduced. Please be aware this story contains intense violence, gore, traumatic situations, and other potentially unsettling content. Chapter One and Two are considered the first “episode” and introduction into the book. As such, they are mega length to allow for uninterrupted reading. Enjoy!
