《Throwin' It Back》18.) Fifties Lovin'

So, I will admit, I cried a lot last night. What Axel did for me was unbelievable. It was so beautiful, and I knew then that he was truly sorry.

Currently, we were sitting on the beach, eating chocolate covered strawberries with red wine. Axel was telling me about all the times he came here as a kid, and how one time, he almost killed Pam.

"She was being annoying so I pushed her into the water." He shrugged, "I didn't know she couldn't swim."

I laughed, and he smiled at me. Once we were finished our picnic, he moved the basket off of the blanket and motioned for me to move closer to him. When I did, he wrapped his arms around me, and we watches the waves crash into the shore.

He sighed, "I didn't think you would ever forgive me."

I wrap my arms around him and lay my head on his chest. He kisses my forehead and rests his head on top of mine.

"We always forgive the people we love." The words rolled out of my mouth before I could stop them, and both of us froze. Well, I mean, could you blame us? I just admitted I loved him.

He looked down at me with wide eyes, and my face tinged pink.

"Y-you love me?" He stuttered, and I smiled. I shook my head, and a smile started to grow on his lips.

"Yeah, I think I might love you." His smile finally grows, and he crashes his lips into mine as he rolls us over. We both smile through the kiss, and when we pull away, I swore I never saw him smile bigger.

"I love you too, Michelle. I have since you fell in my arms." Tears fill my eyes again, and I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in for a hug.

If this was where I was supposed to spend the rest of my life, I think I am okay with it.

After our date at the beach, Axel dropped me off at my house, and he went to his. He told me he would be around later, and I was more than happy. Especially when he told me he loved me again.

So, I went inside with a smile on my face and I practically floated to my bedroom. That's how happy I was.

Mom and dad were sitting in the living room reading a book. Mom was reading Gone With The Wind, and dad was reading a book I had never seen before. When I walked in, they both smiled at me before going back to their books. I walked into my room, and Delilah was resting on my pillows. I patted her head before sitting at my desk, staring out the window with a small smile on my face.

"Thinking of me?" I jump as Axel appears in my vision. He was standing outside of my window with a sly grin on his face. I roll my eyes and smile.

"You wish." He climbs in through my window and plants a small kiss on my lips before sitting on the edge of my bed. I turned in my desk chair towards him.

"What's up?" I say, and he shrugs before standing up and walking to my closet. He looks through my clothes before grabbing a red dress with a sweetheart neckline, and turns to me with a smirk.

"We're going to the drive-in. Get dressed." He throws the dress to me, before pushing me into the bathroom and closing the door. I quickly get changed into the dress and slide on my white flats. When I come out, Axel's eyes land on me, and his jaw drops to the floor.

"Michelle... You look..." He swallows hard as he walks over and tucks a piece of hair behind my ear, "beautiful."

A blush creeps up my neck, all the way to my cheeks, and I smile at him. I place a gentle kiss on his cheek before grabbing his hand and running out of the house. We hop on his motorcycle, and he speeds down the highway towards the diner.

When we pull in, the first thing I see is our group already at a table in the back. A small smile grows on my lips as Axel helps me off of the motorcycle. We walk in, and they all smile at us as we sit at the table with them.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the golden couple." Danny teases, winking at us, and Axel rolls his eyes as a smile grows on his lips.

"I'm glad y'all fixed your problems. I don't know how much more of the awkward sexual tension I could take." Rocco blurts out, and Bev smacks the back of his head. He glares at her before smirking at her.

"Rocco, you're such a dumb ass. I don't know how Bev deals with ya." Pam says, rolling her eyes, and Danny snickers under his breath. Rocco punches him in the arm, and Danny smirks.

"She deals with me because she loves me." Rocco smirks at Bev, "Isn't that right, baby girl?"

Bev rolls her eyes, "In your dreams, pretty boy."

"Okay! Well, that aside, can we eat some damn food now!? I'm starving!" Danny shouts, and all of us burst out laughing. I sit beside Bonnie, and Axel stands beside Rickie. Bonnie smiles at me, and I smile back.

"I'm glad to see ya happy again, Michelle. You two were meant for each other." She says, and my smile grows bigger.

"Thanks, Bon. I'm glad you're happy with Rickie too." Her smile grows bigger, and we begin to talk about other things. As we are deep in conversation, Stephanie walks up to our table, leaning down so her cleavage is right in Axel's face, and smirks at us.

"Hey, Axel baby," She winks at him, and then glares at the rest of us, "and the others."

Pam rolls her eyes and stands up to match Stephanie's height, "That's funny, Stephanie. I believe the slut club is down the street."

Danny, Rocco, and Rickie burst out laughing, while Bonnie and Bev stand up behind Pam. I glance over at Axel, and he is staring intensely at Stephanie.

Ouch.

"And let me guess, you are Axel's hook up of the week?" She smirks at me, "Notice how I said week? He will be back to me whenever he's done with you, so I suggest you don't get too attached, or else ya might get really hurt, doll face."

I stare at her in shock as my eyes become watery from tears. I wasn't offended, but I felt as if she was somewhat right. The only reason I felt like this was because of how Axel left me for her the first time, and I don't think I could handle that again.

"Dammit, when I get my hands on your bitch face–"

"Pamela, it's okay. I got this." Axel warns Pam as he holds her back, and she glares at him before slowly nodding her head and standing behind her brother. Axel walks in front of Stephanie and looks down at her.

"Stephanie, let me make this clear for you." He steps closer, "You and I were through a long time ago. Get over it. The only girl I love and will ever love is Michelle, and I suggest you back off of her or else things won't be so hot for you. Understand?"

Stephanie's jaw drops to the floor, and she slaps Axel before running out of the diner. I stand up to Axel and hold his cheek in my hand.

"Are you okay?" I ask, and he nods, a small smile growing on his face as he places his hand over mine.

"I am now that you are here." He leans down and presses a gentle kiss against my lips, and I smile through the kiss.

And now I finally understood what it was like to be in love.
