"I haven't eaten regular food in over a hundred years, and I'm not going to start now."
Robin glared at me from the opposite side of the counter, and slid the plate of pancakes over. "Krys, I've seen you eat junk food loads of times. Just eat."
"No," I growled.
Robin sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "If I don't make sure you eat and stay alive, your brother will skin me alive. I'm not leaving until you eat."
I glared at him, but didn't make a move.
Because I couldn't eat. If I ate human food, that meant I was human. And I wasn't quite ready to accept that. Because that would mean it was over. All of it.
"Where are the others?" I asked quietly.
Robins gaze didn't soften. "Seth and your sister were getting cabin fever, so the team took everyone on a tour of the city," he said. "They should be back by lunch."
I nodded, and buried my head in my hands. A tear slid down my cheek, but I didn't care. "I can't do this, Robin," I whispered. "I can't handle the transition. I can't... I just can't."
Arms wrapped around me, and I sniffled as I buried my face in the crook of his neck.
"You're doing great," he said, stroking my hair. He pulled back, and held my face between his cupped hands. "But Krystalyn, you have to eat. You'll make yourself sick if you don't."
Great. Then I can be more useless.
"You're not useless," Robin growled.
I blinked. "I said that out loud?"
He rolled his eyes. "Just because you're human now, doesn't mean you're useless. Cyborgs human-"
"With robot parts," I pointed out.
He glared. "Beastboy-"
"May or may not be human. Besides, he has part animal DNA."
"Me." Robin paused, raising an eyebrow.
I avoided eye contact, and clasped my hands together. "You were trained by Batman. You've had years of experience."

I could feel the frustration coming off him in waves, but I still didn't look up. "You don't understand," I whispered, and cleared my throat. "You don't understand," I repeated, louder. "I was a vampire. For centuries, I didn't have to worry about anything because I was a vampire. And now, I'm human. I never... I didn't have to..."
I put my hea in my hands, but didn't cry. I've cried enough the past few days, my tear ducts were probably dry.
Robin sighed. "Even if you don't have your powers, we're not going to look at you any different. You're still Krystalyn."
"I might as well leave," I huffed. "I may still be the same person, but I can't be a Titan. That's the only reason you invited me here, isn't it? Because I had abilities, and could help."
Robin took my hands away from my face with one hand, and with the other, he held my chin. "Being a Teen Titan doesn't mean having powers. It means we can turn to you in time of need, and trust you. It means you're our friend."
I tried to search his eyes, but his mask did its job; I couldn't see anything.
"Do you mean it?" I asked.
"Of course." He let my hands go, and smiled.
I kept staring at him, thinking. 'You like him and he likes you. I'm giving you the chance to be happy.'
Damien's words slammed into me, and I blinked. There really was no denying it. Heck, even Seth could see through it.
I grabbed Robins hands. And held them tightly. "Robin?" I called softly.
"Hm?" he hummed.
"Since... since I'm not a vampire anymore..." I stopped for a second, and shifted my gaze downward.
This was totally going against how I was raised. This was not my place. What's he supposed to do this? I shook my head, and started again.

"Since I'm not a vampire anymore, I'm not frozen at sixteen. Which... which means I can grow up, and-and have an actual relationship, and I... I was wondering if-"
Robin chuckled, and I stopped talking.
Oh gosh, I thought, panicking. This isn't good. He's laughing. Why is he laughing?
"Krystalyn," Robin said, still smiling. "Would you like to go to dinner with me sometime?"
I blinked. A smile broke out across my face, and I nodded. "That would be lovely."
Robin smiled as well, and kissed my forehead. "Now, will you please eat?"
With a huff, I took a bite of the now cold food.

"We'll visit soon. I promise." Claire wrapped me in a hug, and I heard popping noises as I turned blue.
"Ow-Claire-help!"
"Oops!" My little sister let go immediately, jumping back a few paces. "Sorry, Krys."
I coughed lightly, and nodded. "No, it's fine," I assured, although my voice was horse.
Damien smiled lightly, and hugged me as well, though it was much gentler. "Remember what I said," he whispered, low enought to where I barely heard. "If you had to choose anyone, I guess he's the best choice."
I blushed, and pulled away. "Shut up."
He smirked, and stepped back to put his arm around Sarah, who had returned to the tower with us.
"My poor dear," Seth cried, pulling me to his chest. "Our little Krys has grown up! One minute she's chasing scum and drinking blood on the streets, and now she's chasing scum to put them in jail!" He twirled me around faster than humanly possible - which really isn't surprising, considering he wasn't human.
"Leave her alone!" Katarina scolded, yanking me from Seth's arms.
I swayed on my feet, dizzy from all the jostling.
"You poor girl," Katarina sighed, and hugged me gently. "Keep in touch, alright? Don't be a stranger, call every once in a while. And Claire's right - everytime we're in state, we'll stop by."
I nodded, smiling. "Make you sure call beforehad, alright?"
She nodded, and stepped back.
"Take care of my sister, or you'll find yourself with a vampire problem," Damien threatened. He turned to Robin and glowered. "And you-"
"I dot wanna leave!" Claire and Seth cried, getting on their knees and clinging to my waist. I gasped, and fell back, landing on the floor with a thud.
"Well, those two are a match," Katarina sighed, yanking her leader off.
Damien did the same to Claire, and Starfire helped me up as she giggled.
The two psychos had to be dragged out as they wailed, and the rest apologized and said their farewells.
I ran to the door to watch them go, but all that was left was ripples on the water from where they had ran. I sighed, and gently closed the door.
"Hey Blondie," Cuborg called. "You gonna be okay?"
I thought about it, and stared at my friends. "Yeah," I said with a smile. "I think I will be."

(A/N)
Wow. This summer turned into a total dud. I don't know where the time went, honestly. And you know how vacation is supposed to be relaxing?
Well, it isn't. Not in my family, anyway. If you live in Colorado, you have a beautiful state, and I wish I could move there, because dang.
Anyway, sorry for the late update, just go ahead and throw bricks at me or something (or, you know, pie. It hurts less, and it tastes better).
But pretty soon, you won't have to deal with lame excuses from me about this story, because it's almost over. One chapter left, and then the epilogue. It's been a long journey, my friends (longer than necessary, honestly I'm such a lazy old bum), but it's coming to a close.
Until next time, my dears!

A sob breaks from my lips as I try to pull my arm from his grasp."You're hurting me." I say, tugging my arm again."Let her go, Rowan." Bennett says, making the larger man grunt."Don't get attached to her. You know what happened to the last one."Cover made by @ViaAlyssaNicole
