Today was the first match of the semi final and the two trainers entered the battle field. Team skull were cheering with their usual chant as Guzma and Y/n watched on. They knew this kid was pretty good but Plumeria and Y/n had trained for this. Hala stood as the judge for this battle as he explained the rules.

Hala:This will be a two on two double battle with unlimited amount of substitutions. Now may both trainers please send out their pokemon!

Ash:Pikachu I choose you!

Pikachu leaps onto the battle field as Plumeria grabs her pokeball and sends out her first pokemon.

Plumeria:Toxapex, let's go!

She sends out her toxapex who James and Mariane recognise as her mentor. Toxapex looks like he is about to clamp down on Plumeria but she sternly looks at him and he gets battle ready.

Hala:Now battle begin!

Ash:Use quick attack!

Plumeria:Baneful Bunker!

As pikachu rushes towards Toxapex, the brutal star pokemin puts up a spiky shield which block the hit and posions pikachu.

Ash:What?!

Plumeria:Baneful Bunker. It acts like the move protect but in addition it also acts as a shield!

Ash:Pikachu Use thunderbolt!

Plumeria:Clamp down!

Before pikachu could execute the attack, Toxapex rushes towards him, leaps into the air and clamps down on pikachu

Pretend pikachu is James.

The electric type attack is counteracted by the toughness of the tentacles.

Plumeria:Now use venoshock!

Ash:From that range!

Before Ash could think Pikachu is assaulted by a blast of poison. It is hit for double the amount of damage as Toxapex let's go as Pikachu is wobbly.

Ash:Use iron tail.

Plumeria:Liquidation!

The two pokemon rush at each other as their attacks connect like swords as each attack is countered by the next.

Plumeria:Use Venoshock!

As pikachu is attack with iron tail Toxapex tries to grab pikachu but Ash has a plan for this.

Ash:Use electro Web on yourself!

The crowd is confused as Pikachu covers himself in electro Web as Toxapex clamps down. About a second later Toxapex is being electrocuted from the inside and is unable to use Venoshock.

Plumeria:What?!

Then Toxapex is blown away smoking as Pikachu uncovers himself.

Ash:Use thunderbolt!

Plumeria:Baneful Bunker!

As Pikachus ends a bolt of lightning Toxapex uses his shield to protect himself. Pikachu is injured servery from the poison and Ash knows he has to finish this now. He then gets an idea.

Ash:Use iron tail on the ground!

Pikachu stabs his steel tail into the ground as Toxapex rushes towards him.

Plumeira:Use liquidation!

As Toxapex was about to hit pikachu Ash implemented his idea.

Ash:Use thunderbolt.

Since pikachu's tail was in the ground the thunderbolt explodes the battlefield creating as massive plume of dust. The dust cleared and Toxapex was unconscious while Pikachu was just barely standing.

Hala:Toxapex is unable to battle. Plumeria send out your next pokemon.

Plumeria returned her Toxapex as she grabbed her next pokemon.

Plumeria:Let's go Gengar!

She sends out her last pokemin Gengar to battle. Pikachu is already about to faint but is just able to keep fighting.

Ash:Use thunderbolt!

Plumeria:Use Venoshock!

As pikachu sends a bolt of lightning Gengar sends a pulse of poison. The two attacks connect but Gengar's venoshock is almost double the power of Toxapex and it breaks through and instantly takes out Pikachu.

Hala:Pikachu is unable to battle. Ash please send out your last pokemon.

Ash puts pikachu back to his side as he calls on his last pokemon.

Ash:Torracat I choose you!

Torracat enters the battlefield and looks at Gengar.

Ash:Use flame charge!

Plumeria:Phantom force.

The fire type cat charges at Gengar at full speed as the ghost type falls into the ground to avoid the hit. As torracat was still covered in flames Gengar punched him in the stomach as the cat started to fall.

Ash:Use fire fang!

Taking advantage of Gengar just coming out, torracat covers his fangs in fire and lacthes them onto Gengar as they both crash onto the ground. Gengar is easily able to toss Torracat off with a shadow punch tough and Plumeria flips her skull pendant revealing a keystone as she touches it and begins to chant.

Plumeria:Venomous souls collide with our power and take on a new form. Become reborn and transform into mega evolution!

Strands of power comes from the keystone and Gengar's mega stone. There replacing Plumeria's gengar stood a mega evolved pokemon with a cocky grin.

The battle raged on with Torracat struggling to land some hits and Genagr dealing massive ones. However this served to activate Torracat's blaze ability allowing for his next fire fang to deal massive damage as well as land a burn. Genagr retaliated with a shadow punch knocking Torracat towards Ash but it has signs of fatigue which Ash aims to take advantage of. He puts on the firium z he got from totem Trevanant and executed the z move Inferno overdrive.

Gengar is too damaged from the burn to dodge and is knocked out.

Hala:Gengar is unable to battle which means Ash is the winner!

Ash celebrates with Torracat as Team Skull are sobbing and Guzma looks with shock and turns to where Y/n is. However he notices that Y/n is gone. As Plumeria is walking through the entrance Y/n is waiting for her there.

Plumeria:Sorry. But I lost even with all the training you-

She was cut off by her boyfriend kissing her passionately on the lips as when he stops she is completely red.

Y/n:You don't have to apologise for anything. You tried your best.

Plumeria:Thanks babe. Good luck.

She kisses him on the cheek before going back to her seat. Y/n walks over to the entrance, ready for his battle.
