"I was wrestling a big dog trying to attack a cat," I shrugged, answering Aaron's question.

He squinted his eyes at me. "I don't believe you, you don't even have bite marks."

"I didn't give him the opportunity to bite me, I'm that strong. See this?" I flexed my toned arms. "This is what saved that poor cat from getting eaten."

"She got hit by a car while stupidly standing in the middle of the parking lot," Amayah butted in, earning both a gasp and a glare from me.

"I knew it! You're a liar, Aide!"

"That's harsh," I pouted out my bottom lip.

The beauty smiled. "To be fair, she had a reason why she was acting stupid."

"Don't even try, too late," I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Yeah, mom. That was a bit harsh," Aaron muttered, shaking his head at his mom.

Amayah raised a brow, placing her hands on her hips. "It was just a joke, and weren't you calling her a liar literally just seconds ago?"

"I didn't call her stupid," The kid shrugged. "Which was way ruder, by the way. Right, Aide?"

I nodded repeatedly. "I agree with the kid."

"Teaming up on me, huh," Amayah clicked her tongue, turning her back on us as she walked to the kitchen. "Guess you two won't be eating lunch then. Oh, and dessert, too bad I'll have the cheesecake all by myself."

Aaron and I stood up as fast as we could, trailing behind the dark-haired beauty. The kid went to wrapped his tiny arms around her waist, giving his mom puppy eyes.

"We were joking, mom," He pouted.

"Definitely joking," I seconded and looked over her shoulder. "What did you cook for lunch?"

"Aaron's favorite and yours," She answered, bringing the dishes to the table.

"Really? I love you, mom!" The kid bounced on his feet excitedly at the mention of his favorite food. He likes eating. But who doesn't?

"An angel in disguise," I commented, eyeing the feast she served on the table. "Thank you for cooking," I grinned at the woman who only gave me a playful eyeroll.

Once Amayah finished helping Aaron, she went to my side, putting the ones I like on my plate. I touched her back appreciatively with my uninjured hand, grateful that she's taking care of me still.

"Can you eat properly? You're using your non-dominant hand," Aaron pointed out, watching me struggle a bit using only a fork to eat with one hand.

"I can manage," I answered, which was also meant for Amayah as I could see she wanted to help me more but couldn't. I think she enjoys it too much whenever she feeds me when the two of us eat together.

"Are you sure?" My girlfriend asked worriedly.

I nodded. "I swear."

After stubbornly standing my ground, I finished eating without any more help. Unfortunately, I couldn't argue Amayah into letting me help her clean the mess. Pouting and feeling useless despite the obviously minor injury, I settled on entertaining the kid instead. Aaron grabbed the box of chessboard, fixing it for the both of us.

"I've been practicing a lot with Bianca, she's really good. Hope you can still win against me," He boasted, doing his first move.

"Too early to be talking big, my guy." I did my move.

"May the best player win."

After three matches, Aaron admitted defeat bitterly. Our first match with me winning, the second with him and of course, the last round was mine to claim. It feels good to humble down a kid this age, they should learn not to be too conceited. Offering my hand, I accepted the 10 dollar bill as payment for my victory. For the record, the money doesn't go to me. It goes to his piggy bank that I keep whenever he wants to buy something.

"Didn't even let a literal child win," Amayah rolled her eyes, sitting down beside me.

I shrugged. "It's a fair game. Besides, this child could beat you at chess within 5 minutes."

My girlfriend gasped as Aaron laughed. "Ouch," I pouted when she smacked my arm lightly.

"That is such an exaggeration. I can last 10 minutes, for your information."

I grinned. "I can last way more than that," I muttered quietly, snickering when Amaya's dark brown eyes turned wide at the joke.

To my surprise, she grinned soon after. "You certainly can," My beauty whispered with a bite to her lip.

"I can last way more than mom, too!" Aaron suddenly blurted out, making Amayah and I jump away from each other and clear our throats. Yup, totally forgot we're in the presence of an innocent child. Her child to be exact.

"Can I have a turn?" Amayah coughed awkwardly, taking her place in front of the board to play with her son.

Once they started, I leaned over Amayah's shoulder to see them play. Helping the older woman all throughout the game, which Aaron complained about but did nothing to stop it.

"Well, that was easy," Amayah playfully patted her shoulder.

"Didn't even let a literal child win," I mocked, finding amusement in her triumph.

"Shut up," she rolled her eyes at me.

"Mom's a bad winner," Aaron shook his head. "You wouldn't even win against me if it wasn't for Aide's help."

"What?"

"I said-"

I cut him off, snickering at Amayah's raised brow. "I suggest you don't continue that, she heard you the first time."

"Why did she say 'what' then?"

"Just listen to me, bud. It's for your own good."

"Where are we going?"

"It's a secret."

"Why is it a secret?"

"Because I said it is."

"You know I'm the one driving, right? I could just drive us back home."

"You wouldn't."

"Why can't you just tell me?"

"Because it's a secret."

"I'm you girlfriend, you shouldn't be keeping secrets from me."

"That's a different secret, this one's for you so shut up for now–ow! What was that for?" I pouted at Amayah who had her brow raised, quickly glancing at me.

"Did you just tell me to shut up?"

"I was joking!" I defended. "Besides, I said it a nice way."

"When is telling someone to shut up ever nice?"

"When it's laced with love?" I shrugged, sending her a grin.

Amayah raised her brow, eyeing me. "Tell me honestly, are you high? You're acting way more playful than usual."

"I'm always playful, it's just contained. But not with you," I said sweetly.

The beauty squinted her eyes at me, after a few seconds, she rolled her eyes and a smile graced her red-painted lips. "You're lucky I love you."

"I love you," I grinned, blowing her a kiss.

"I love you, too. Now, shut up and let me drive in peace."

"Is it laced with love?"

"No, impatience."

"Damn."

Practically bouncing in my seat, I guided Amayah as she drove us to the location I've been planning since she told me. Amayah's brows raised in confusion upon seeing the place I made her stop at.

"Animal center?"

"You told me you've always wanted a dog but never had the time to look for an adoption shelter instead of stores that sell them. Well, I found one and we can adopt our own fur baby here. Surprise!" I said excitedly, getting out of the car and jogging to her side to open her door for her. Full of excitement, I pulled her inside the shop where the woman I've been speaking to stood with a welcoming smile.

"Aiden, right?"

I nodded. "Yes, and this is Amayah, my girlfriend. We're looking for a dog."

"Well, let me introduce you to some of the babies here."

Amayah pulled my uninjured hand that she's holding, getting my attention. "You look way more excited than I am, are you sure this is for me?"

"It's ours," I whispered back. "Do you like it?"

She squeezed my hand with a smile. "I do. Thank you, baby."

"Good, now let's look for a child to bring home." Amayah raised a brow with my choice of words but said nothing about it.

After almost half an hour of looking, we decided on a 6-month old Labrador retriever. Coming in empty handed earlier, we went back to her car with Charlie beside us.

"We're going to be a parent to another child," I said while playing with the dog. Amayah looked at me in amusement, a smile on her face.

"Baby," she called.

"Yeah?" I answered without looking at her, my attention solely focused on Charlie as I placed him in the backseat.

"Would you be ready for a kid in the future?"

The question made me look at her in curiosity. "What do you mean?"

"Theoretically speaking, if I wanted another child and I mean an actual human child, would you be okay with it?"

"Of course," I answered without any hesitation. "I'd love to have a baby with you."

"Really?" She asked in surprise.

I stood properly and went to pull the beauty in a short kiss. "Really. I'm okay with anything as long as it's with you."

"Anything?"

I hummed, placing another kiss on her lips, and another, and another, and another until my lover started squirming and laughing. Hugging an arm around her waist, I didn't let her go and attacked all over her face with kisses. From her lips, to her nose, cheeks and forehead back and forth. Loving the sound of her laughter and the way her eyes gleam in happiness. It made her look even more beautiful than ever. And I never thought it was possible to fall even deeper than I already am.
