My day went by really quickly I had only two classes today and I went back to the apartment since I had nothing to do all day I just resorted to reading my Wattpad books.
I must've dozed off, cause the next time I woke up was to loud noises coming from the kitchen. I stood up making my way to the bathroom to rinse my mouth and my face before I tied my hair into a messy bun and went downstairs heading to the kitchen finding a laughing Mbali with a guy I didn't know.
Me: Oh, you back!
Mbali: hey sis did we disturb you?
Me: No, it's alright.
I wouldn't say they didn't disturb me, but I would not say that they did directly so, whatever but knowing Mbali she probably wouldn't care.
Mbali sure always knew how to pick them, but what I was looking at right now was a whole new level of good looking.
He was dark, tall, very tall possibly 6,1 feet tall. He had brown eyes, he was so ripped, you could just see by how his muscles bulged from his clothes.
Me: Hi.
Me being awkward and very much antisocial, decided to only say a simple greeting and was about to haul ass if I wasn't stopped by Mbali.
Mbali: Oh right, uhh this is my boyfriend, Sanele, babe meet my sister Sinoxolo.
I smiled shyly as he held out his hand for me to shake, I took it and shook it.
Sanele: Nice to meet you Sino
And he smiled, God his smile was so attractive, it was your boy next door kinda smile.
Mbali: Okay, so I'll bring some snacks and we can Netflix and chill, yeah?
Not giving any of us a chance to protest she ushered us to the living room and told us to pick out a movie while she made snacks for us.
Mbali: And then, who died?
Mbali plopped herself on the love seat next to her boyfriend. I wasn't one to be socially inclined, especially with new faces. Ignoring her snorty remark.
Me: Thanks.
I chose to ignore her statement and take the snacks from her hands and just eat. I could tell Sanele was the quiet type so I just sat there in complete silence while he and Mbali started to converse about random stuff, while they occasionally kissed or laughed. It was cute to watch Mbali smile this much.
Me: I'll be right back.
I said as I ran to my room and put on decent clothes, it had occurred to me that I wasn't dressed for guests, male guests. Not wanting to be rude, even though I wanted I give Mbali the space she needed with her boyfriend it was better I told them I was going to leave them alone instead of just bolting out like that.

But when I went back I was greeted with an alone Mbali who was sitting on the couch eating snacks.
Me: And then where's your boyfriend?
Mbali: Well he left he got a call from his brother and he had to rush somewhere so...
She shrugged. I nodded and sat next to her, cuddling next to her for warmth.
Me: oh okay, sure you didn't kick him out for me?
Mbali side glanced at me with raised brows, I shrugged.
Mbali: Flattery young lady, it does not suit you.
I rolled my eyes and nudged her to which she chuckled and kissed my side head.
Mbali: So I met him a couple of weeks back remember when we went to that boring event that my parents practically forced us to? well I met him there and we hit it off. He's different from my past flings and you know exactly what those were like.
Me: Yeah, trust me I was shocked to learn that you were dating, it's usually not your thing.
Mbali: Yep, so how's he?
Me: Oh okay but he seems a bit older than you, doesn't that bother you?
I chose to ignore her question, knowing what she meant by that question.
Mbali: That was one of the reasons I didn't tell you cause I was afraid you would judge us.
Me: Babes what!? Why would I judge you? Mbali you know that's not how I am and if he makes you happy then why not, just don't keep things from me again remember we don't lie nor pretend with each other.
Mbali: I'm sorry, Sino, and I promise not to hide anything from you again, anddd
I saw how she stretched out that and, that's usually not a good sign.
Me: No, nope not happening.
I couldn't let her finish that sentence at any costs.
Mbali: But you haven't even heard me out yet.
She gaped at me, when she saw I wasn't interested she pouted and gave me her puppy face, I sighed and sat straight, figured what she wanted needed my full attention.
Me: I swear if you taking me to one of those frat parties again Mbali-
Mbali: Chill, it's not that. In fact it's much restrained than that. I gave her a knowing look with squirted eyes. She rolled her own.
God knows how much I hated those frat parties, it was just messy and filled with a lot of drunk teenage pupils who probably drank their rent money away.
Mbali: okay look babes it's just an event and he invited me. He's bringing along his brother, so he asked if I could ask you to join us so his brother doesn't feel left out, please come with me, pleaseeee Sino.
Is she setting me up to entertain her boyfriend's brother? Jesus what if he's a weirdo who likes to pick his nose.

Me: Yhoo!
She smiled sheepishly at me and nodded, I shook my head in disapproval at her antics.
Me: When is this thing?
She squealed and clapped her hands while jumping on the couch like a little girl, I worry about her at times.
Mbali went on to explain how it was the following day, seriously she asked me a day prior to the event. It's like she knew I was gonna agree, like I always do.
Mbali: Don't worry I have you covered with everything, all you have to do is show your cute self tomorrow.
Like I said, she already had this thing planned out, she better had not set me up with an awful old man, it's possible.
Me: Of course you did, you sneaky worm.
She laughed and dragged me upstairs to her room to show me the dress she picked out for me.
***
I woke up the next morning and wore my sports gear, tied my sports shoes and my hair in a bun. I took my phone and blasted some music while I descended the stairs.
I decided against waking Mbali up and telling her I went for a run, knowing she would just flip I woke her up for no reason.
I decided to take the suburban area, I loved running in the morning, it was refreshing, mainly because of the morning breeze, the sunrise was the most beautiful and oh my God the serenity.
Halt, I screamed to the top of my lungs, my legs trembled. I was terrified of cars, specifically accidents involving cars. As I stood there, almost hit by a car in the middle of the road was not how I had imagined my ideal morning run.
I was expecting to see the sunrise and peaceful bliss of the morning air. But no, the jerk decided to drive like a maniac. I breathed out, remembering that me not breathing would result in me dying.
Man: Can't you look where you headed?
As I was still trying to check for any broken bones, possibly if my heart was still beating, a very deep voice interrupted me. I looked up to find a man in a suit, hands pocketed and a scowl on his face.
My anger flared up at this man's audacity. How dare he when he was the one driving like a blind man?
Me: Excuse me?
Man: Are you deaf as well?
He looked at me like I was the most stupid thing.
Me: Maybe if you hired a chauffeur, you wouldn't have almost ran me over, since it seems you don't know how to drive.
I diverted my attention back to myself as I fixed my headphones.
Man: Who do you think you are?
He seethed moving closer to me, I gulped, the look he had on his face was sneering, definitely should have kept my mouth shut.
Jesus I hope I haven't insulted a serial killer in the middle of a very quiet neighborhood, I'm pretty sure no one would hear me even if I screamed or they wouldn't care. The man stood in front of me and grabbed my forearm in a firm grip.
Man: Do you know who I am?
I wanted to say yes since you are the President of this country but decided against agitating him more. My mouth was gonna get me killed one day.
Me: Surely not someone famous.
But again my mouth had it's brain and decided for it's self. The man pulled me close, that seemed to tick him off. I found myself looking at his chest, afraid if I glanced up at those brown orbs, I'd shit my pants.
Man: Do you have a death wish or something?
Oh my God, I knew it, he's a serial killer and he's gonna drag me to his trunk and lock me in it and take me to a warehouse where he would slaughter me and feed my body to his bulldogs and-
Man: I'm worse than a serial killer sweetheart.
I looked up at him to find him looking at me with curiosity and amusement?Must have thought out loud. Well good, now I have given him ideas on how to murder me.
Me: Please don't kill me!
Man: Ahh she grovels.
He snickered looking down at me with a smirk. Mind you we still on the road, a very much silent road. Where are the cars?
Me: Listen Mr man, I don't want trouble okay, you ran into me with your car and on top of that you gave me sass so in my defense I was well defending myself and also I was very much in shock.
Man: And apparently a big mouth too, I should just kill you now, I'm pretty sure no one would find your dead body if I hid it well enough, yeah?
My jaw swept the ground, I can't die like this, I didn't even do anything wrong. My death would be unjustified.
Then I felt my chest vibrating, except it wasn't mine, it was him. He was laughing, at me? I jerked my arm from his grasp and stepped back to look at him. His laughter died down and looked at me with amusement as he chuckled.
Man: Maybe I shouldn't kill you, you quite enticing.
I stood there as he winked at me and got to his car and drove away. What the hell just happened?
