《Anger Issues》14

It's been two days since they decided to try things out.

Two days since Maisie has had to constantly write notes in her 'Brent-Journal' and give Brent a side-eyed glare to silently tell him to watch is mouth when he's talking to people who have annoyed him.

Two days since Brent has had the urge to fire, yell at, or hit anybody.

Two days since the pair had the biggest grins on their faces that they have yet to wipe off.

And, most importantly to Brent, it only took him two days to think of the perfect first date to take Maisie on. She isn't into all of the fancy wines and dinners and he knew that. Also, they already eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together virtually everyday - so, in hindsight, would it really feel that date-y for the two?

It wasn't until Brent looked at the new plaid phone case Maisie had bought: a picnic.

Deep down, he knew it would be perfect for her because of her love for finger-foods and nature but that still didn't stop him from repeating his mantra in his head al day long: It's Mace we're talking about her, B, she'll love it.

"Are you okay, Brent? You seem kind of distracted today," Maisie spoke from across the office room, breaking Brent out of his thoughts.

"Oh yeah, I'm totally fine. Just, you know, doing important business things that important business men do," he "casually" answered.

"Oh, really? I didn't know that the list of important business things that important business men do included chewing on the end of their pen while staring off into space," she responded, with a growing smile.

"It's just, well, I uh-" Brent struggled.

"You want to know if I want to go on a date with you?"

"Yeah, actually, how did you know?"

"I accidentally saw your list of date ideas this morning. I wasn't going to say anything and pretend like I didn't know it existed but you really look like you're a little stressed out over there."

"So...?" Brent asked with a hinting voice.

"So, what?" Maisie asked in an equally mischievous tone.

"Are you really going to make me ask it when you already know what the question is?"

He was only answered with a big grin and a nod from her head.

"Oh, Maisie, the things you make me do," he started with a grin to match hers, "Maisie Rose Cooper, will you do me the honors of going on a date with me?"

She put on her sweetest smile, which, in this case, came very naturally, and simply nodded her head - her grin far too wide and mind far too jumbled to be able to form words.
