everyone knows about the sun and the moon. but with you and i?

It's scary how fragile the humans's bodies were.
How death could just easily come and snatch away your life.
It was.. an inevitable unpredictable event in life. You could just be walking down the stairs and trip, next thing you know, it's all black and you're dead.
Taeyeon knew how precious life was. How fragile and delicate it was. To hold it in her hands as she watched the light dim.
Afterall, she is the grim reaper.
-
"HAVE you found a bride for yourself, Noona?" Min Yoongi walks in the room, casually holding his scythe.
Taeyeon looks up from where she was cleaning hers, "No."
"You know, you're the only female reaper left. You need to retire already, look for a bride that'll free you of your duties." Kim Taehyung comes in next, taking a seat next to Yoongi.
Taeyeon's eyebrows furrow, "In all the years I've been harvesting souls, this bride deal is still what I do not understand. Shouldn't it be a groom? I am a woman."
"However, you are a woman, who likes women as well." Yoongi retorts, "I see it fit. Besides, we are Reapers and you only look like a woman. We're dark gender-less souls that contain these bodies. It's just a container for us to control. Shouldn't gender nouns not affect us as well?"
"Eh." Taehyung mehs, grabbing an apple from the table. "Now you're getting old, hyung. You're starting to talk like one. You sound like my great-great grandfather when he lectures me to stop messing with his boney skeleton guards." He scoffs.
"Isn't your father the King of Hell, Taehyung?" Taeyeon gives Taehyung an unimpressed look.
"He is." Taehyung answers.
Yoongi scoffs, "he looks like the Princr of Hell, yet doesn't act like one. No wonder he's banished in there.. Again. And following me around.. Again!" Yoongi groans, lips curled in distaste.
"I know you're fond of me hyung." Taehyung grins at the older who only pushes him away, yet doesn't deny.

Taeyeon watches them amused, shaking her head, but then stands up when she remembers something. "Ahh.. I have to leave. I promised Juhyun I was going to visit her and her bride."
The young men bid their goodbyes and right when Taeyeon has left through the door, he heard Taehyung's deep voice yell out, "NOONA! DON'T FORGET TO LOOK FOR A BRIDE!"
Taeyeon chuckles, amused.
She was one of the oldest reapers in Hell.
Over 18,000 years of service.
Of course, she wants to retire already. Plus fact that all of her co-female reapers had retired as well, leaving her as the only female left.
But she just couldn't find someone... Someone who was worth settling down with.
Brides were for life.
if other reapers could easily choose someone, she couldn't.
She couldn't bind herself to someone and then if they didn't work out, she'd leave for someone else, still binded. Like how most reapers go on and do with theirs.
It was cheating in Taeyeon's point of view.
She didn't want that.
-
"TAEYEON! Finally! You're here!" Tiffany greets her with a hug. "How's it going with the taking souls business?"
Taeyeon shrugs, hugging her back. "Cool. Where's Juhyun?
Tiffany nods, her grin wide. Used to Taeyeon's cold persona. "She's in the living room, taking care of Soora. Coffee or tea?"
Taeyeon gives her a small smile, tight-lipped but somehow still warm. "Coffee."
"Be right back," Tiffany nods, disappearing into the kitchen.
Taeyeon takes off her jacket, placing it one of the coat hangers, then she headed to the living room, greeted by a surprising sight.
"It's rare to see you smile." Taeyeon quirks with a small smirk, taking a seat on the couch right on front of Juhyun's.
"Well, I am, you know, not taking souls from people anymore." Juhyun replies, cradling the young girl in her arms.
Taeyeon's eyebrow raise, her small smirk turning into a small smile, one that was tight-lipped, didn't look too genuine, yet when you look at her eyes, it is genuine.

"Everyone's been asking me when I'd get a bride." Taeyeon shifts the conversation into something she was meaning to talk about, the main reason she went and accepted the invitation to visit.
"Have you found one?" Juhyun asks, her eyes focused on Taeyeon yet her hands were on the little girl on her lap, holding her tight as to the young wouldn't fall over.
"No." Taeyeon answers, a small pause of silence before she continues. "I want to. Yet, I still haven't found someone worth making my bride."
Juhyun nods, "I understand. It took me long enough with Tiff."
Taeyeon smiles, again. Yet this time, it wss bigger. "I'm happy for you Juhyun."
"I know.." Juhyun looks down, a faint smile making it's way on her face. "I hope you find someone for you as well, Unnie."
"I hope so too.."
-
Taeyeon was walking by the bridge on her human, visible form, slowly strolling as the moonlight softly casts a shadow behind her, the cold yet comforting breeze whistling around her.
She slowly breathes in the cool air, cool mist forming as she breathes it out, sighing in content.
Humans never appreciate night and darkness. They don't know how much they're missing out on.
She continues walking, taking in the beautiful sight before her. How the moon was so full and how it's moonlight rays reflected on the water below the bridge, the stars shining brightly on the sky.
Taeyeon loves the moon, the stars.. the darkness... Everything that had to do with night. She knew that it was somehow twisted, yet she didn't care. She liked the silence that came with it, it gave her the peace to think, reflect and dream. It kept her sane.
But then Taeyeon was snapped out of her thoughts when she hears a splash.
Her head whips to the direction of the sound, eyes widening at the sight of a tall woman leaning over the bridge, curiously, she walks over.
"What was that?" She asks the mysterious woman that was peering under the bridge, hoping to sight whatever it was she accidentally dropped.
"My bag.." She answers, leaning away from the edge, having given up on looking. "I accidentally dropped it," she gives Taeyeon a sheepish smile, rubbing her arm.
Taeyeon hums, "I figured." she lightly chuckles, "so, what are you doing here at midnight?" She looks up to the younger, seeing as she was shorter. Her heart stopped beating for a moment, a gasp almost comes out of her mouth.
"I like the moon." She simple answers, smiling at Taeyeon, her eyes crinkling. "You?"
Taeyeon blinks, looking away from her. "Same reason as you.." she softly mutters. "What's your name?"
"Lim Yoona. You?"
"Kim Taeyeon."
"Cool name. So.. how often do you hang out here? Or you just happened to find this place?"
"Latter." Taeyeon answers, letting out a shaky breath. "I've been busy alot these days.." lots of people have felt like dying. "I needed the fresh air."
"Oohh, same. I work as a model, I've been dieting a lot these past weeks to get this contract. And tomorrow is like.. the D-Day. I'm nervous."
Taeyeon felt like she was breathing a new wave of fresh air.
How can she be so... open?
It was new..
For her.
Gulping, Taeyeon nods, then looks over Yoona's way, "I.. hope you get it. Goodluck. Though, I don't think you'll need it." She continues. "You're.. gorgeous."
Yoona flashes her a big smile. "Thanks! Though, I don't know really, there are alot more girls out there prettier than me."
"Nonsense." Taeyeon shakes her head.
"I bet you say that to all, the girls you meet on bridges at the middle of the night." Yoona cheekily remarks, giggling.
"Nah, just you." Taeyeon turns her head to look Yoona in the eyes.
Just you.
