《Hellishly Angelic || jjk ✓》chapter thirty-one

She looks like a goddess.

No, she is a goddess.

Her silky dark hair hangs down in gentle waves—a style that I've actually never seen her wear. The dress hugs her perfectly in the right places, elegant but sexy at the same time.

A layer of tinted red lipstick coats her lips, and her cheeks are more rosy than normal. Even though she's not wearing much makeup, she still manages to look flawless.

I think I might even prefer how she looks without makeup.

She assured that she would be fine in a pair of heels, even though I knew she would be complaining of blisters later. But it's okay, she's the birthday girl after all.

But my favorite part of her attire is the fact that her tattoo can still be seen. It's shining brightly, beaming at the world.

She stands in front of the mirror, slipping a pair of shining studs into her ears.

"Looks like someone's got eyes for you, Haru," Hoseok says on the phone, grinning.

Naturally, the others start freaking out, too. I glance at Haru who's smiling, blushing hard.

"Shut up, I'm only fixing my bow tie," I lie, and Jimin bursts out laughing.

"He's trying to look good for his date," Seokjin says, winking.

Haru giggles. "It's not a date, Jin."

"I think from now on I'm only gonna voice call you guys and not use FaceTime," I mumble, earning a laugh from everyone, including Haru.

Yoongi huffs, "He was saying the truth though. This is basically a date. You're wearing a suit and tie and she's wearing a dress. And where are you guys going?"

Taehyung answers for us, "A five-star restaurant next to the beach where only rich people go to."

The guys laugh as Yoongi continues, "So, it's a date."

Haru rolls her eyes, smiling, "We're only going out because it's my birthday, guys."

"Mhm, you sure about that?" Taehyung teases.

I sigh, "You guys are such kids, oh my gosh."

Haru grabs her clutch, smacking her lips together. "You ready, Kook?"

Namjoon gasps, "Did you just call him Kook?"

"I think we should send them on more trips like this," Jimin says, snickering.

Taehyung chuckles, "You guys got really close, huh?"

I bite back a smile, "Maybe we did. Now shut up."

Seokjin winks, "Okay, you guys have fun on your date—"

"It's not a date," Haru and I say at the same time, earning a laugh from the guys.

"Have fun guys," Hoseok says, waving at the camera.

We all exchange our goodbyes before I hang up. "Alright, do you have everything you need?"

She nods, "Yup."

I open the door to leave the room when Jungkook gasps. "Wait one second, I need to take my medicine."

He rushes to his bag and takes out a pill bottle. I squint my eyes, trying to read what it says on the bottle, but the font is too small. He swallows the pill with a gulp of water and turns back to me.

"Let's go."

As we head down to the parking lot, I find myself getting nervous. But why?

Is it because of what the guys were saying earlier?

I mean, to people who don't know us, it would clearly look like a date. I'm wearing a fancy dress, and Jungkook—who, might I add, looks more handsome than ever—is wearing a suit.

And it is at a fancy restaurant.

But that doesn't mean it's a date. It's a friendly outing.

We step outside where the Uber's waiting for us. "Perfect timing," Jungkook says with a smile, opening the door for me.

I smile, slipping into the car, "Thank you."

Jungkook gets in from the other side, shutting the door.

As the driver takes us to the restaurant, Jungkook and I sit in silence. Not an awkward or weird silence, rather a comfortable one.

I glance at Jungkook who's staring out the window, dark eyes filling up with the reflection of the city lights.

I don't get it.

Everything about him contradicts himself. His tattoos make him come off as harsh and cold, but he's the complete opposite.

His suit makes him seem like a formal guy, one that's serious all the time. But he's not.

The way his hair is styled back out of his face makes him seem like someone who's mature, which he is at times, but most of the time, he's just an innocent little boy.

Is this why I'm so attracted to him? His duality? The way he can act so cute one moment and then in the next he's just a complete bad boy?

Maybe this is why.

But no, it's not just his looks. Of course it's not just his looks.

It's his personality. His laugh. His smile. His eyes. His lips. How freaking cuddly he is. It's his everything.

Maybe the reason why I was so reluctant to accept the fact that I had any feelings for him was because I was just so...scared.

I was scared he would be like him. The guy who I loved—no, thought I loved. Everything started like how every relationship starts. A little crush. Then a bigger crush. And once we were together, he ruined it.

And he shattered me. I locked my heart away because of him.

Until now.

There's something in me that's telling me that Jungkook is different. He's true to himself and true to his actions.

And it's not just a small little crush that I'm thinking is actually love.

Is it love? I don't know.

But it's a special feeling.

A feeling that might, just might be reciprocated.
