you were at home for a few weeks in quebec in the summer before you had to go back to work.

it was one of the times that your whole family was able to get together. you were excited to see all your nieces and nephews and they were excited to see you.

you were outside a lot when you were at home whether it was going for a run in the morning, barbecuing, or playing with all the kids.

you began to notice your next door neighbor a lot. just like you, he always seemed to be outside.

"mom, when did we get the hot neighbor?" you asked.

your mom smiled, "that's pierre-luc. his parents live here in the summers."

you nodded and walked away from your mom with a smile

pierre noticed you too and asked his mom the same thing. he wondered when it wasn't just old people living here which led to him getting a stern stare from his parents.

pierre-luc laughed at his parents glares and walked off quickly to not get slapped across the face.

he quietly made a plan in his head so that the next morning he would be able to talk to you other than just waving.

you waved towards pierre in the morning and was surprised when he waved back and started walking towards you. you stopped walking.

"hey, i've seen you around a lot." pierre smiled, "what's your name?"

"i'm y/n." you smiled, "how about you?"

"pierre-luc." he introduced, "would you mind if i joined you on your run?"

he was cute and you knew he wasn't a creep so you definitely weren't going to say no, "yeah that would be great."

pierre smiled, "thanks."

you talked to each other as you ran and walked around the neighborhood. pierre was really sweet and fun to talk to, so you really enjoyed the time.

when you made it back home, your family was outside having their morning coffee.

"hi pierre!" your mom called.

"hi mrs. y/l/n." pierre called back with a smile.

"invite your family over for dinner at our house tonight, will you darling?" your mom asked.

"will do. see you tonight."

"see you later pierre." you smiled.

"see you later y/n."

as you were walking into the house, your mom stopped you.

"did you like him?" she smirked.

all you did was smile gently and continue walking into the house to take a shower.

you got a pretty outfit on for dinner.

"trying to impress someone?" your dad asked you.

"how do you know about that?" you groaned.

"your mother of course."

you chuckled and shook your head.

you helped everyone prepare for dinner and talked to pierre's family while everyone waited for the food.

"you look beautiful." pierre-luc smiled at you.

"thank you luc. you look cute."

pierre smiled at his nickname.

you were strategically put next to pierre at the dinner table which you knew was part of your mother's plan.

you talked with pierre for the rest of the night. he pulled you aside before he left.

"when do you go home?" he asked.

"next week." you answered.

"well before next week, could i take you on a date?" he asked with a light blush on his face.

you smiled and nodded, "yeah that sounds fun. don't be afraid to come out and run with me too. i would love a partner."

pierre smiled big and kissed your forehead.

you and pierre-luc went on runs together everyday before you left to go back home. it made running way more entertaining and enjoyable.

by the next time you came back home for a summer trip, you had a boyfriend that was right next door.

talking to the cute neighbor is fun.
