moving with three kids was absolute shit.

you couldn't even lie about it. it was utter shit.

your whole family was moving to washington because of zdeno's signing with the capitals.

you were very happy to have a new chapter of your lives opening, but it was tough to get up and move all your young kids.

you and zdeno had decided it would be best to just drive to washington because it wasn't a horrible drive and it would be easier than trying to fly with the kids.

"z, we have to leave soon or we won't make it before the moving truck gets there." you told your husband.

zdeno nodded and jogged to get the rest of the bags to shove them in the car. you worked on getting the kids situated.

once you realized they were as ready as they could be, you went and helped zdeno with some of the stuff.

"you ready for this?" you asked him with a smile.

"as ready as i can be." he answered and smiled back at you.

you pecked his lips gently and packed the rest of the car.

zdeno helped you get the kids into their car seats which contained a lot of curse words as he hit his head on the car.

it took everything in you to contain the laughs.

eventually, after some pain, you both were in the car and were off to washington dc in a 6 hour drive from boston.

it was hard to say bye to a place that you all loved and called home for so many years of your lives. your kids were born in boston.

lots of very important memories were held in boston.

the car trip was far from enjoyable, but it wasn't unbearable. there were a few expected meltdowns from the children, but nothing too major.

you made a few stops on the way there.

"we really need to get a bigger car." zdeno complained as he hit his head once more trying to get out of the vehicle.

this time you couldn't exactly your laughs and giggled at him for a little bit.

"not everyone is a giant like you z." you told him with a grin.

he rolled his eyes playfully at you and continued with what he was doing.

after a tired 6 hours, you arrived in washington and thankfully had arrived before the moving truck.

you began to unload the things that were held in your car while trying to keep the children occupied. your oldest did a good job doing that.

the house wasn't the same and neither was the city, but the family was the same and that's all you needed.
