you were a minnesota native for all your life and with living in minnesota came the great sport of hockey.
while it was the greatest sport in the world, the boys playing the sport were not the greatest.
you had been played by one too many hockey boys to ever want to go back to dating them. they had broke every individual section of your heart one by one along with your trust.
as soon as you broke up with the boy that was the worst, you swore to never date anyone from that sport ever again.
you were getting ready for a party at a cabin with your best friend. it was going to be a small party but your friend's long time crush was going to be there so you were going to be the wingman.
you put on an outfit that was more comfort than style and waited for your bestfriend to come pick you up.
you both arrived at the party and your friend immediately scurried over to the side of the room where their crush was.
you sighed and went to get a drink from the kitchen.
in there was a beautiful blond man with longer hair than you would usually like, but it worked really well for him.
your breath hitched slightly as he turned around and ran into you.
"oh shit, i'm so sorry" he apologized quickly.
you shook your head, "you're fine. it's no big deal. you didn't even spill a drop on me." you said, eyeing up his drink.
"do you want a drink? is that what you're in here for?" he asked curiously.
you nodded, "yeah."
he quickly made you a drink and handed it to you.
"so what's your name?" he asked.
"y/n." you responded, "you?"

"brock." he said with a comforting smile.
you nodded and the both of you continued to talk for a while.
"so what do you do for a living?" you asked.
"i play hockey for the vancouver canucks." brock answered.
as soon as you heard him say hockey, you wanted to down your drink and walk the hell away.
you mumbled a "hell no" under your breath and he apparently heard.
"what's that expression for?" brock asked with a chuckle.
you shook your head, "i think my friend needs me." you said and walked away.
you breathed unsteadily.
just when you thought you found someone nice and handsome to talk to, he has to go and disappoint you like that.
brock had a look of sad confusion when you walked away from him. he didn't understand what he did wrong. he really enjoyed talking to you.
after that party, your friend had started dating brock's bestfriend which meant that you would be going to parties and get togethers with brock all the time.
he did not know how to leave you alone. he was always at your heels.
a part of you wanted him there, but your past experiences clouded your brain fully.
you didn't want to be broken by another hockey player especially one of his attractiveness.
brock had finally caught you in a room alone at his cabin where you were staying overnight. he was nervous, but desperately wanted to know what he did wrong so he could fix it.
"y/n, what did i do wrong?" brock asked you.
you sighed and shook your head, "brock..." you began.
brock shook his head, "no y/n, i'm serious. i really don't know what i did. i thought we were getting along but then you just walked away." he said, "i want to be friends with you."

brock wanted to be more than friends. his mind always raced when he was around you. he was always trying to say the right thing.
"brock, it's nothing you did." you admitted.
"then what is it? please." he asked desperately.
you sighed and got ready to speak, "ive been destroyed by too many hockey boys to count so i have a promise to myself that i wouldn't put myself through that again." you said, "from the 15 minutes we talked at that party, i had already started to develop a crush on you. i didn't want to let myself break again."
brock looked at you with a soft expression.
"can i kiss you?" brock asked.
you looked up at him in pure surprise and he slowly walked over to you. you let your grudge go for a second and nodded.
brock connected his lips to yours in a soft kiss that you didn't want to end.
"let me show you that not all hockey players are the same. i want to show you that i will treat you like the royal you are." brock said against your lips.
you looked into his blue eyes.
"i want to take you out to a nice dinner and treat you well y/n. will you let me?" he asked quietly.
your breath hitched at his body against yours and you nodded.
"yes brock."
brock smiled big and then hugged you close to his warm body.
"i promise i will never hurt you. i don't think i could."

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

Vincent soon found forty acres of land and quickly had his simple and robust dream home constructed. Disappointed in people, it was his avowed goal to be a hermit and shun the world. Too bad for his dreams that only a year after winning the lottery, all of humanity started seeing colored text messages before their very eyes, messages that warned of dire things to come.

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
