adam was nervous to meet your parents, but you were probably even more nervous than him.
you had no idea what they were going to think when they met him. you were wholeheartedly terrified that they would make everything more complicated by not approving of you two.
you were planning on staying with them for a week during the summer. you had a cottage back home so you were going to spend half of the time at your mom and dad's and then the other half at the cottage with some friends.
"i'm nervous." adam admitted to you as you were nearing the house.
"as much as i want to console you, i am nervous too." you said and held his hand.
"even if they don't like me, i will still love you y/n." he said.
you smiled at him, "i don't think i could stop loving you."
he smiled back as you got into the driveway of your parents house.
adam squeezed your hand three times and you did the same thing back. you knew that he needed some sort of comfort and that's what you could offer him.
you rang the doorbell before opening the door and walking into the house. your hand was still firmly grasping adam's.
"oh hi darling." your mom said and came over to hug you.
your dad was the next one over and they both hugged you.
you put an arm around adam's waist and smiled, "mom and dad, this is my boyfriend adam." you introduced him.
he smiled politely and shook both your mom and your dad's hands.
"it's very nice to meet you adam. y/n talks very fondly of you." your dad said.
you blushed gently and adam grinned down at your face.

"well that's quite nice." adam said and squeezed your hand that he had been holding again.
you smiled back up at him with a blush.
"well we'll let you guys unpack, but make sure to come back up and get some food." your mom said.
you and adam went to put your things in the bedroom that you would be staying in.
"well i don't think they hate me yet." adam chuckled.
"no i don't think so either. it's actually going quite well so far." you giggled.
"we'll see how long i can keep this streak going." he said.
"hopefully for the rest of our lives." you responded to him and guided him out to the kitchen.
"y/n, hun, can you come help me?" your mother called out.
"i'll be right there." you called back.
"i'm going to have to leave you with my dad. is that okay or do you want to come with?" you asked adam and played with his hair gently.
"as much as i want to stay with you, i'll brave the dad and get on his good side." he joked.
you smiled and kissed his forehead, "you do that baby. you got this."
adam chuckled and went to sit next to your dad at the kitchen table as you went to go help your mom.
when you came back, you saw that your father and adam were engaged in comfortable conversation and after that you felt at ease. you felt that you didn't have to worry about if your parents were going to accept your relationship because it had already happened.
your mom and dad absolutely adored him and at the end of the trip, you felt that they almost favoured him instead of you.

"adam, sweetheart, do you want a cookie?" your mom asked him.
he nodded and took a cookie off the plate. he thanked her sweetly.
"can i have a cookie mom?" you asked.
"no y/n these are for the guests. wait until the next batch comes out." your mom ordered.
you had a look of betrayal on your face.
"i'm your kid, not adam." you joked with a laughed.
adam laughed and fed you the rest of his own cookie, "well baby, you'll always be my number one."
