you were shaking horribly as you tried to pour yourself something to drink.
you had just found out that you were pregnant from a drunken one night stand.
you had got the guys number and sent him that you were pregnant. he sent you something along the lines of no thanks and blocked you.
now you were panicked about how you were supposed to raise a baby by yourself at age 23.
your drink was spilling everywhere as you shook.
you were about to give up completely until you felt two hands on your wrists, steadying your hands.
"what's going on?"
you could recognize your friend john's voice from anywhere.
you wiped the tears off your face, "nothing." you said.
you couldn't get anything past john, but you were hoping this time he wouldn't pester you.
"can i have the truth now?" he asked delicately.
you sighed and shrugged.
"i can't help you if i don't know what's wrong
y/n." john said softly and hugged you close to his body.
you began to sob softly into his shirt. you were stressed out at everything going on in your life.
all john did was hold you tightly in his arms and let you cry it out.
you were so thankful to have someone like him in your life. he was someone that had seen you at your highs and lows and put no shame on you for either.
"john, i'm pregnant." you cried out.
a sob immediately racked your body as you said those words.
you could feel john hug you even tighter when you said those three words.
"it's okay y/n. everything is going to be okay." he whispered to you.
he waited to speak to you until you had fully cooled down and had stopped sobbing.

he brought you to the couch and sat you down. you drank the liquid in your glass before beginning to speak.
"the dad said he wanted no part in this and blocked my number." you said.
"he's such a joke y/n. that's a horrible way to do it." john said angrily.
you nodded.
"i'm struggling because i have no help at all. it's just me and i just started a new job. how am i supposed to take care of a baby?" you worried, "i'm not ready to do this alone. i'm 23."
"y/n, there's so many people here for you that will respect any decision that you make." john told you.
you sighed and nodded, "i know, im just stressed out. i never thought this would happen now." you said.
"i know y/n, i know. i'm here for you and i know your friends and family are too." john said.
you took a few moments to breath before saying something, "i just wanted to do so much before settling down and having a baby, but i had to have a drunken one night stand."
"everything is going to be okay no matter what decision you make." john told you comfortingly.
you didn't believe yourself when you said everything was going to be fine, but you believed john.
you nodded, "i think i'm going to have the baby, but i don't know if i'm going to keep it or put them up for adoption." you said.
"that's a decision that you have some time to make." john said.
nine months had slowly passed and throughout the entire process john had been your rock.
no matter how late it was, he was always available to bring you food. he would always make it to your doctors appointments.

you had practically moved in with him because he was so worried at you being alone all the time.
you now waddled around the apartment and could barely sleep because of all the uncomfortableness of being nine months pregnant.
"hey y/n." john said as he came through the door, "i brought some food."
that only things that made you happy nowadays were the thought of getting this baby out of you, john, and food. but mostly the food.
"thank you so much johnny." you said and opened the bag of your favorite food.
john came and sat next to you on the couch.
"can i talk to you after you're done eating?" john asked.
you immediately got scared but nodded your head, "of course."
you ate pretty quickly and john offered to clean up the garbage.
he placed his hand on your thigh when he came back to sit on the couch.
"y/n, if you chose to keep the baby, i want to parent with you." john said.
"what?" you exclaimed.
"i know how much you wanted your baby to have a father and even if it's not my baby i want to treat them like it's mine." john said, "i want to love them and you."
your eyes widened at everything he was saying, "wait a minute. what was the last part there?" you asked.
"yeah y/n, these last nine months made me realize how beautiful and strong of a person you are and i'm so damn in love with you." john told you.
your eyes remained wide open in shock.
"you don't have to say yes to anything. i just wanted to make the offer-"
before john could even finish his words, you blurted out, "yes."
"really?" john asked excitedly.
you nodded.
john immediately brought his lips to yours, "i can't wait to be a dad." he smiled against your lips.
"i can't wait to see your cute ass be a dad."

Swindle
—A Celebration of all things chess... Shounen Sports–manga Style. Anasthese is the current reigning World Champion for the Junior Chess Female Division. For years, she's wanted nothing more than to beat the Male Division Champion, Rei. These two are considered prodigies way ahead of their age; none of their peers even come close to holding a candle against them. But be that as it may, Anasthese too, cannot hold a candle to Rei... She's never beaten Rei once he's serious. Anasthese has always considered Rei the best of her generation. It's her lifelong goal to beat and surpass him. That's why, when Rei's cancer had become fatal after their 3rd year running, Anasthese took it hard. Rei will die, with her never having beaten him, not even once. Things take an unexpected turn when Rei reveals that he is far from the "invincible" player Anasthese envisions him to be. Even he has someome he could never beat, not even if his life depended on it... a fellow apprentice who studied with him under GM Amane. A guy so-called "Net". This enrages Anasthese. A person stronger than Rei should not exist. Because if he did, then what has all her efforts for the past years been for? And if this Net "does" exist, why doesn't he challenge Rei for the title? Rei tells her it's not that simple... Net's playstyle is void. It's an enigma. It's chess that should not exist, and should physically not be possible to play. It goes against all logic, and it's power is not something that can be measured in numbers. It's something that would "absolutely not work" in a professional setting. Anasthese attends Rei's funeral as a last rite before setting off for Japan, bound towards the disintegrating Futenma Shintenkan Highschool chessclub, of which there are only two members left: Mukuro and Net. She has to see it with her own eyes, a playstyle that Rei lost to... And as Anasthese stays for the long-term, various misadventures are started at Futenma High, including rebuildung the club, Anasthese's "Royal Guards" (four girls dedicated to serving Anasthese and helping challenge Rei) coming to take her back to America, and unexpected guests gracing the local Sports Meet chess scene. From a guy who can only play well everytime money's involved, to a girl who plays on a weird "Magical Girls vs Orcs" chess set, get introduced to the quirky playstyles that make chess wonderful. (Disclaimer: I am not a chess pro, I'm only 1400. Expect me to have no idea what I'm talking about at certain times...)
