you were in richmond hill, ontario to visit connor's parents. his parents were happy to see that you had a little bump now.

you were pregnant with your first child. connor was beyond excited when you told him you were pregnant. beyond excited was even an understatement. in simple words, he was hyped as shit to have a baby mcdavid

running around the house.

it was the summer and you guys had some rare spare time, so you went to visit connor's family in ontario.

"calista, are you hungry?" connor asked you.

you looked at him like he was a madman.

"what did i say?" he began to worry.

you pointed at your growing stomach, "yes, yes connor i am hungry."

he chuckled quietly.

"mom, are you making food?" connor politely asked his mother.

"yeah hun, i'm making pasta with chicken. why?" she responded from the kitchen.

your eyes lit up at the sound of pasta. that sounded so good right now.

"calista is hungry."

connor's mom, kelly laughed as she emerged from the kitchen into the living room where you two were sitting.

"oh honey, i know the pain. you're feeding for two." she said standing in front of you.

"i'm hungry all the time." you whined.

kelly nodded her head, reminiscing on her times being pregnant.

"it doesn't end sweetie." she whispered towards you, "the pasta will be done soon though."

you rose your hands in the air to celebrate as kelly made her way back to the kitchen.

connor laughed and kissed your check, "my little vacuum."

you cackled, "oh my god connor. absolutely not."

he smiled and laughed along with you.

"KIDS THE DINNER IS DONE!" kelly summoned them.

connor hopped off of the couch and stretched a hand out for take. you accepted his offer and he pulled you up.

"thank you."

"no problem love."

you sat at the table waiting for your food after connor had insisted that you sit down and he'll fetch the food. you didn't argue with him, there was no arguing with connor mcdavid when it came to little things like that. you just thank him and let him do it. it makes him happy.

you basked in the amazing smells of the kitchen. it's funny how these same smells another day may cause you to want to puke. pregnancy was odd to say the least.

you are your food as politely as possible, but it was difficult when you felt like you could eat a whole cow. you ended up just respectfully scarfing down the pasta.

once everyone was done, connor put everyone's dishes in the dishwasher.

you were laid back in your chair. all of the wonderful home cooked food you ate made you tired.

connor noticed, "do you want to go lay down for a bit?"

you nodded.

"calista and i are going to go lay down for a while." he told his parents.

both of them smiled and nodded.

you laid down in the bed of connor's childhood bedroom. littered around it was countless amounts of hockey stuff. you glanced around at everything.

the bed sank when connor climbed in. he put his hand on top of your stomach.

"do you like the decor?" he asked smirking.

"love it mcdavid." you said staring at the maple leafs poster on the wall.

you guys laid in a comfortable silence.

just as you closed your eyes, you heard a loud gasp.

your eyes jerked open and you turned your head towards connor.

"what?"

he had his hand over his mouth.

"what connor?" you asked seriously.

"the baby kicked." he mumbled in disbelief.

your eyes widened as you stared intently into your stomach. after a bit, you saw the small movement.

connor placed his hand back on your abdomen to assure he wasn't going insane. sure enough, the baby kicked again.

he looked at you straight in the eyes. you could see his eyes begin to glisten with tears.

"con con don't cry. if you cry, i cry. there are a lot of hormones in my system."

"well i'm crying so go on." connor said as the tears began to drain out of his eyes.

the second you saw connor's eyes water, you were gone. you began to cry together like the ultimate couple.

"MOM, DAD!" connor yelled.

connor's mom and dad rushed into the room worried.

"why are you both crying?" kelly asked.

"the baby kicked." connor said smiling.

the parents eyes lit up.

"our grandchild brian."

he nodded happily.

everyone was in a great mood that night. it was hard not to be. seeing connor so overjoyed that he start crying was one of the best things to see. both of you were so happy with each other and soon the little mcdavid.
