"so how'd you two meet?" your cousin clara asked.
"oh no." you groaned putting your head in your hands.
you could see the smirk flood onto roman's face.
flashback 8 months
roman was walking around the grocery store picking up food to eat to stay healthy during the summer.
eggs, greens, fruits. anything.
he turned the corner to a girl practically keeled over and breathing heavily.
"hey. are you okay?" roman said worriedly.
you turned around.
roman noticed bloodshot eyes, messy hair, clean face but yet still beautiful. he shook that off clearly his feelings were no match to what you were feeling. that was his assumption anyway.
"i don't know if i'm okay or not." you said crying.
"what's wrong?" he asked.
you laughed while sobbing, "well.." you stepped out of the way to reveal the mess on the floor, "i dropped my wine and cake."
roman couldn't help but laugh at the girl crying over the cake pieces and red stains on the floor.
"it's not funny. i haven't slept in days." you wailed, "why'd i have to do it in front of a cute guy too?"
roman raised his eyebrows at your latest comment, but once again shook away his emotions.
"i'm sorry. i couldn't help it. here, for laughing at you i'll buy you another cake and bottle of wine." roman suggested.
"wait no. that won't be necessary." you assured, wiping the tears away from your tired eyes.
"no. you wait on the bench right there and i'll get you it." he pointed at the wooden bench right next to where you were standing, "i don't take no as an answer." he said before you could reject.
"could i get you name at least?"

you sighed and slumped into the wall by the bench.
"roman." he smiled, "you?"
"i'm y/n."
he nodded and smiled brightly as he turned and walked towards the liquor section.
you realized how cute roman actually was once he walked away. you immediately regretted coming here like an actual bag of trash. you didn't expect to see a really hot dude at the local grocery store, but today was your lucky day.
roman has nice hair, a nice body, nice face. in addition, he had this beautiful accent coating his english that you couldn't quite pin point where it was from.
soon enough roman came back with a bottle of wine in one hand and cake in the other.
"roman!" you exclaimed eyeing up the bottle of wine.
"what?" he copied your volume.
"that's a $100 bottle of wine!" you covered your face.
"damn i didn't think you would notice."
"what can i say? i'm a wine connoisseur. but what the fuck?" you said.
"well obviously you're have a rough time so i thought i'd treat you."
"we don't know each other." you pointed from him to you, "we met when i was sobbing cause i dropped a $10 bottle."
"hey i'm just giving a pretty girl nice wine." he put his hands up.
"well i appreciate it, but i'd appreciate even more if you helped me drink this. i would feel guilty if you didn't." you spun the bottle in your hands.
it was a great excuse. not only would it make you feel less guilty, it also gave an excuse to hang out with one handsome man.
"is that an excuse to hang out y/n?" he asked curiously.
"maybe?" you smirked.
"i'd love to get to know you. let's do it." roman smiled brightly.
apparently it was contagious cause you smiled right back.
back to present
"she was crying, right there in the middle of the grocery store." roman smirked.
"really?" clara laughed in disbelief.
you nodded, very embarrassed.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.

The Tuatha de Danann do not have incarnations seeded across each Universe. There is only one Tuatha de Danann, and when Athena and Loki come to Teigh with the tales of a plot that will destroy not only the Tuatha de Danann but the multi-verse, he removes his crown to once more face off against Zeus and Odin and save his people.
