"who's this cute little puppy?" you said as a brown lab jumped at your legs. you picked the puppy up and read the name tag. zeus. he licked your face. you laughed.
"where's your mommy or daddy, zeus?" you asked. of course, he didn't answer. he was, in fact, a dog.
just as you were about to turn over the tag on his collar to see who his owner was, a brunette came running over.
"zeus!" the cute boy said taking the dog and attaching his leash. he looked up at you, "i'm sorry i was training him and he just ran off."
"no problem. he's really cute by the way."
"so are you." he said and then clapped his hand over his mouth. you blushed and laughed.
"i'm sorry. it just slipped." he said shyly.
"no it's fine. if it makes you feel any better, when i saw you i thought you were really cute." you confessed and let out a laugh.
"oh." he said surprised. his face began to turn red.
"my name is y/n, by the way." you said to ease the awkwardness.
"i'm mitch." he answered
"uh, do you want to go to lunch or something or?" you asked.
"that would be nice. i would like that." he said.
"we can go somewhere this little guy can be." you said kneeling down to pet him. when you stood up, you saw mitch staring at you. you smiled at him and he blushed again. you and mitch walked from the park you were at to a restaurant with an outside area so zeus could be there.
you and mitch sat down and zeus laid down and fell asleep from all the running he did around the park. you had both ordered food.

mitch was very cute. he had a soft shape to his face. his eyes were like two little oceans. he wasn't as shy as you thought. he warmed up to you fairly quickly. his smile was radiant. even though you had only known him for hours, there wasn't enough good things to say about mitch. he was precious.
"y/n" he waved his hand in front of your face, "you're staring at something."
you popped out of your trance and rubbed your eyes.
"oh sorry." you had been staring at him so your face went a little red.
you had both finished eating and were now walking around the park with zeus again. zeus's tongue was hanging out from the hot toronto summer as he pranced through the park. you smiled at the cute puppy.
"your smile is so cute." mitch said. you started to blush for what felt like the thousandth time that day.
"stop." you said. he giggled.
"will you go on a date with me?" mitch asked.
"huh?" you said surprised.
"would you like to go on a date with me? i just think you're really cool and beautiful-" he rambled on.
"i would love to go on a date with you." you answered. he smiled radiantly.
"tomorrow at 8?" he asked. you nodded and smiled. as you walked to your car you heard mitch say,
"you're the best wing man ever zeusy."
you were definitely looking forward to tomorrow at 8.

Midnight Origins: Arrival
On a lush planet known as Bhar, Verun is now the leading nation in the development of the rivaled schools of Magic and Science. Having brought forth an era of peace and prosperity for themselves through the development of Magitech, The High council was eager to spread their knowledge and beliefs to the furthest reaches of the continent, with the goal of ending senseless conflicts and prioritizing advancements in Magitech and improving the quality of life. This ambition, however, is not without opposition. Most followers side with one school or another, believing it is superior in nature. This conflict dates back to the very beginning of civilization itself, where it is believed by both sides that their gods descended from the heavens, bestowing upon them the knowledge that would bring the world into a new age. And though some took great interest in their differences, others would seek to convert each other through any means necessary. That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats. And although non-biological creations have improved quality of life, they are not yet capable of replacing the military.
