flashback
"mommy, don't leave." you yelled through the window as your mom drove away. you sat down in the corner of your classroom and began to cry.
"hi. i'm nathan." someone said. you looked up at him with red eyes, "why are you crying?"
"my mom left." you said quietly.
"come sit by me." he grabbed your hand.
"okay." you complied. you stood up and followed him. he sat down and you sat down next to him.
"what's your name?" nathan asked.
"y/n." you said.
"pretty." he said.
end of flashback
every since then both of you had been connected by the hip. you did everything together. you knew everything about each other. you knew his whole pre game routine and how not to mess it up. they knew everything about each other. except one thing
he didn't know.
you were in love with nathan mackinnon.
he didn't know. no one knew. you didn't have any plans of telling him either because you were certain that he had no interest in you that way.
you were sat at your desk at work. you felt like pounding your head on a hard surface because of the amount of work you were getting. you heard your phone vibrate.
are you coming to the game tonight? i got you tickets.
i don't know nate. i'm really busy at work. i'll try my best to get there.
ok. love ya.
you looked at that text and knew he was upset. he wanted you to be there, so you did.
you made it to his game with your mackinnon jersey on. you were sat right next to the boards with gabriel landeskog's wife, melissa.
nate skated on the ice and saw you. his eyes widened and he smiled. he came near the boards and waved. he took off his glove and touched his hand to the glass. you put your hand on the glass too. he smiled, threw a puck over the boards to a kid, and skated off.

"when are you guys going to date?"
"mel!" you exclaimed.
"what? his eyes lit up when he saw you and so did yours." she reasoned.
you tried to hid your reddened face.
"see? that's what i mean. you're in love." mel sang the last part.
"we're just friends." you said quietly.
"not for long." she said.
the avalanche had won 6-3 over the bruins. you walked down to the players area with mel.
little did you know you this would lead to you making a big mistake.
you waited patiently for nate to come out of the dressing room. he was the last one out, but you waited.
he looked so good. his hair was wet, but still looked flawless. his eyes met yours. that's when you did something you regret...
you kissed him.
you pulled away and saw the terrified look on his face. that's when you realized what you actually did.
"shit." you mumbled and ran off.
"wait y/n." he ran after you, but you had been long gone. you got into your car and laid your head on the steering wheel. you started your car and drove away.
you made it to your apartment and all you wanted to do was eat and sleep. forget about the mistake you just made that could have possibly ruined your relationship with your bestfriend.
when you made it to your door, you realized it was already open. you walked in and hung your avalanche jersey on the rack above your shoes leaving you in a hoodie. you half expected your valuables to be gone, but actually all you saw was nathan mackinnon sitting on your couch.
he had a key and somehow made it to your place before even you did.
you turned around and tried to walk out of your own apartment when nate grabbed your waist, turned you around, and kissed you.

you didn't process what was happening. you were too shocked. you kissed back after realizing nathan was actually kissing you.
he pulled away,
"that was nice." he said. you smiled and blushed.
"what was that for?" you asked him.
"i kinda have really liked you since 10th grade." he said. you scrunched your eyebrows.
you both were 24 now. that had been years ago.
"well that's good cause i kinda really like you too." you said. nate smiled and picked you up. you squealed.
"nate! put me down." you yelled.
"no. we are going on a date." he stated.
"nate dogg , it's 11 at night."
"y/n/n, do you think i care?" he smirked. you sighed.
nathan didn't care. he carried you to his car. you guys ended up having late night dinner at a 24 hour cafe.
kissing him was something you regretted at first, but at the end of the day, it was the best thing you had ever done.

Orc Lord
A young woman just starting out in life is killed tragically in a car accident. However, she soon regains consciousness as a baby in a fantasy world. But... she's an Orc?! It would be good if she could just enjoy her new life quietly, but she seems destined for war and carnage. How will she fare as a monster in a fantasy world? ________________ This story will have a total of three arcs: Arc 1, The Birth of Babylon: 571 pages (complete) Arc 2, The Baphomet War: 420 pages (complete) Arc 3, The Mad Queen of Carnage: (in progress) ________________ Ultimately, I'm writing this for enjoyment. If you enjoy it too, fantastic! Gore: Extremely infrequent, but moderately intense. Profanity: There are a few swear words here and there, as well as some more creative insults. Traumatizing Content: While I'm at it, there are some questionable morals displayed (mostly after chapter 77). So far we can check off slavery, brainwashing, war, and genocide. This story starts off very Light Novel-ish because I was reading a lot of them at the time. The writing style gradually matures as it goes. Sorry, but I don't have the stamina to go back and fix everything, even if I know it gets pretty roughshod at times. New readers, please keep in mind, I make use of "unreliable narrators" at times. My story accepts donations, but it is free to read and I've only uploaded it here. Lastly, Orc Lord is a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying ending. One of my long breaks triggered a dishonor, but I'll redeem it someday when it's actually finished. I'm the ultimate necromancer author. ;P
