your pace quickened when you realized that someone had been following you. as you turned the corner, you saw a man with brown curly hair sipping a drink. he was alone at a small café table. you quickly decided to slide into the chair across from him so it would make the man following you, stop. the curly haired brunette looked up at you confused.
"i'm sorry. there has been someone following me for blocks." you said glancing behind you.
"i'm max, what's your name?" the man said smiling.
"y/n." you answered. you saw max glance around your head.
"i see him. don't panic. just keep talking to me." max said almost protectively.
"so what have you done today?" you asked.
"nothing really. worked out and then came to dinner with you." max replied. you nodded at him.
"what about you?" he asked.
"worked out this morning, went to work, and then walked here." you played along.
the man that had been following you passed by with a long creepy glance. you looked at max to see that he was glaring hard at him.
"thank you so much max." you said and sighed.
"no problem. i really like your name by the way." he smiled. you blushed.
"thank you. i really like your curls." you said. he laughed.
"do you have anywhere to be?" max asked. you shook your head. "do you want to have dinner? i haven't ordered yet."
"sure." you answered.
"i'm guessing you aren't from montréal?" you said.
"could you tell? i was born in winnipeg." he said and laughed. "i'm guessing you are from montreal?"
"yeah. what gave it away?"
"the french accent." he said. you covered your mouth.

"i forgot about that. sorry if you can't understand me sometimes. english is not my first language." you said.
"i can understand you. you are really good at english. i think the accent is really cute." he flirted. you blushed.
"what do you do for a living y/n?" max asked. you set down your drink so you could answer him.
"i'm a doctor." you said. max looked amazed. "what about you?"
"i play for the montréal canadiens." he said.
"that's where i've seen you then." you exclaimed. max smiled and laughed a little. max glanced over at the live music that was going on. you and max were almost the only ones there along with one middle aged couple and one elderly couple.
"would you like to dance y/n?" he stood up and offered his hand out to you. you laughed, but took his hand. he lead you over to the small space in between the tables and the band that was playing. max swayed you back and forth and spun you as you laughed.
after a few dances, you and max stopped dancing.
"you guys are such a cute couple." the elderly woman said. before you could deny being a couple, max said,
"thank you." you shook your head at him as you guys sat down.
"thank you max. i never thought such a cute boy would pay for my dinner." you said and rolled your eyes. you didn't want him to pay for your dinner, but he did.
"i never thought such a beautiful girl would let me have dinner with her." he spoke smiling.
"bye max." you said smiling and turned around to walk away.
"wait y/n. i really had fun tonight, so i was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime?" he asked.
"yeah, i'd love that." you hand him your phone smiling. he enters his name and number.
"i'll text you." he said. he kissed your hand and smirked. you shook your head while smiling.
you walked home a little happier than usual.

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.

Blaze
The story of a fire elemental's life in a world dominated by mages. He will have to learn how to manage betrayals, treachery, and maybe even love as he goes on adventures to find a meaning to it all. From dark, humble beginnings he will rise... or fall, devastating amounts in his journey across the world. Hello, Author here! I am, unfortunately, rather terrible at coming up with descriptions that seem to have the right amount of decorum and yet actually serve their function of adequately describing the story, so here's the coursenotes. - The story follows a fire elemental. (As you can tell from that, it is heavily besed on fantasy with mages and the like. Technology will not feature prominently) -As mentioned in the tags, this will have game-like aspects. (E.G. levels, stats. I will be trying to put my own twist on this notion however, so bear with me if the premise intrests you but you despise LitRpg) -It'll get rather dark, but not devastatingly so. (I'm trying to write a more complex story so it will have its dark moments, the prologue being one of them. Rest assured the whole story will not be this dark, though I'll make sure that no-one is a saint either) -The protagonist/protagonists will not be a Mary-Sue. (The plural will be understood when I'm further into the story. They also won't be impossiby unlikeable such as those in many Light novels.) -There is no prophecy (Anyone who says there is, is lying, trust me.)
