there had been rumours spreading around U.A

supposedly a villain had deceased within the halls of the school and manifested into a ghost that now haunted one specific classroom

the room however always kept changing through the rumours

and with all the uncertainty made many students quite suspicious, especially the class 1-A

which lead to operation

'true or false'

when all students and teachers were asleep class A would begin the search for the supposed ghost, splitting off in teams so to cover more ground and alert the other teams in case something went wrong

each group was assigned with a goth, as they were more connected to the dark arts than the others

it started as a joke, but the more gullible students actually believed this

tokoyami (the king) was with midoriya, occacho and kiminari

Jiro (second in command) was with koda, hakugara and momo

shoji (third in command) was with asui, ojiro and mina

and todoroki (the newest recruit) was with iida, ayoma and sato

bakugo (who refused to be lead by anyone) was with Kirishima, sero and Minetta

each student was given a walky-talky so if anyone saw something they could alert everyone in an instance

they began their search at 9, it was autumn so the sun had started setting much earlier than the summers

but as time continued, their determination began to waver

along with their will to stay awake

"yawn....this is hopeless, theirs no ghosts, probably some kids wanting to spread rumours just for the sake of it" kiminari yawned, shaking his head to shake off the sleep

"it's almost witching hour, just keep going" tokoyami whispered, shining the light of his torch to a nearby clock

which the electric boy merely grumbled in defeat

"Hey, how about this one, don't think anyone's searched it yet," midoriya said as he pointed out a random classroom

occhaco checked the map which she ticked of all the classrooms their group and the others had checked

"Nope, not this one," she said excitedly

with that, the four figures entered the room

it seemed like all the other rooms, nothing out of the ordinary at all

at least, that's what they believed at first

suddenly the door slammed shut, locking the four inside

"huh?!" midoriya questioned

"hey! let us out!" occhco commanded as she started pounding on the door

"bakugo, if this is your idea of a joke, it's not funny" kiminari cried as he joined occhaco in trying to get the door to unlock

the loud thuds masked the growing heavy breathing of one bird-headed boy

"tokoyami?" midoriya asked, worried for his raven friend as he hadn't spoken in a while

in the dark, he would dramatically monologue everything in sight

but now he was breathing raggedly as he held himself close by a corner of the room

"hey! are you alright?" midoriya asked, becoming even more worried

tokoyami slumped to the floor, getting onto his hands and knees

he felt as if he was going to be sick, he felt as if something unwanted had just entered his body

"stop struggling boy!" a new voice commanded him instead of the familiar voice of his quirk

"who..." tokoyami began to ask before he felt himself slipping out of consciousness

the new voice began to laugh, but now it was heard from the outside world

"tokoyami?!" midoriya asked in horror, alerting the two other figures

the raven's eyes began glowing bright blue, black liquid dripped from his beak which was now shaped into a sinister smile as he laughed, his body beginning to lift from the floor

"what the fxxk is happening," kiminari asked in horror

"my guess is we just found the ghost of U.A," occacho said sacredly

"you guess correct" the ghost spoke through tokoyami's beak

"Leave him!" midoriya demanded angrily

"not a chance, do you know how long I've been stuck in here, unable to leave, unable to interact, just because I was caught in my own arsonists act?! too long!" the villian shouted as he shot the black liquid from his mouth and at the three

luckily they dodged the splat, for if they didn't, they would have disintegrated just like the poor chairs in the background

"We do not pity those who want to cause harm to others! so stop using our friend as a shield and face us you coward" occhaco shouted

the ghost was about to laugh before a look of confusion showed itself on tokoyami's face

"leave my fumi alone!" a familiar voice shouted out

dark shadow

inside the raven, the dark spirit had been fighting with all his might to push the evil possessor out of his host

tokoyami's himself was being trapped and muffled in his own brain

so it was dark shadows responsibility to free his host and return him to the safety of his own body

"ugh! damm parasite, I'll not let you take away my one chance of freedom!" the ghost continued, but this time he had sucked back into tokoyami's body so he could get of darkshadow from the inside

leaving the body of tokoyami shaking on the ground with no one in control

"tokoyami!" midoriya shouted as he raced over and kneeling to the floor, lifting his body so his head was on his lap

"what do we do?" kiminari asked/cried looking with fear for his friend

"there's nothing we can do...it's up to dark shadow now" occacho sighed, praying that darkshadow will be victorious in this time of darkness

inside was an epic battle of rights,

the two spirits were challenged both mentally and physically

fighting inside of someone was not what you would have expected

instead of throwing punches along organs

they had entered a stage of limbo

the only thing that was around them, was themselves, nothing more nothing less

"give up already, your simply a wandering quirk with no controller, who would care if you were gone, heck who would care if that bird's head was here" the villain shouted, taking the shape of brightly glowing of an owl

the natural prey of the raven

but this raven wasn't going to respond to natures laws

"you don't get to talk about me or him like that, you don't know us!" dark shadow shouted as he dodged an attack from the owl

a purple glowing claws held the blazing blue owl from its arms and legs

"you say people wouldn't care, yet we have so many caring people surrounding us at this very second" darkshadow shouted as he began to pull his legs and arms away from each other

"Who even cares about you?" darkshadow asked as he ripped the owl's body in half

killing the villain instantly and erasing the last piece of evidence of his existence

darkshadow took this moment to breathe before a new voice entered the void

"Hello?"

darkshadow recognised it instantly

next to him was a child figure resembling his host

a 4-year-old fumikage walked timidly towards his quirk in fear but relief

the boy began running to darkshadow to which the spirit caught him carefully and held him close in his claws

"I was so scared, I thought you had left me, they had threatened to take you away, please don't leave me alone!" the small tokoyami cried

as a child the poor raven head couldn't control darkshadow, parents had told his own family to get rid of his quirk, he was feared that he didn't have a single friend, excluding darkshadow though

the quirk had done everything to reassure the boy, to tell him he would never leave him ever

"I promised you I would never leave, that I would always be here to protect you," darkshadow said as he held the boy closer

"forever?" tokoyami asked tearfully

"forever" darkshadow nodded as he wiped his tears away

light began to shine within the limbo

it was time to come back to reality

tokoyami's eyes shot wide as he woke up, choking up the last of the black liquid

"it's ok toko, it's ok" he heard someone reassure him

as his vision became more focused he found himself looking up at the ceiling on the floor as the students of 1-A stared at him in worry and fascination

the next few moments were chaos

with students crying and hugging him because they were worried they had lost him

some asking what was it like to be possessed

some even asking if the guy was still inside him and if he will ever try to possess him again

tokoyami tried to answer all the questions he could, but he was both mentally and physically drained

he was helped back to his room as shoji picked him up bridal style and taken to bed

the poor boy was too tired to shout in protest

but once he was finally left alone by his class

he was welcomed by the familiar figure of his quirk

"your defiantly back right, "dark shadow asked

"yes" tokoyami answered

"good, you really scared me fumi" dark shadow sighed

"Sorry, but I didn't have a choice in the matter"

a moment of silence before the two burst into laughter

as it died down darkshadow wrapped himself around his host

"together forever right darkshadow," tokoyami asked happily

"forever and ever" darkshadow responded

and with that, the two entered the realm of sleep, reassured they would be coming back to reality once they had woken up
