《The tokoyamiverse》daemon underestimation

in this world, there were no such things as quirks
but instead
the rare few people would be bestowed with a contract on their 15th birthday to summon their own personal demons that would fight and defend them
and those who did receive them would get an automatic place at U.A's school for daemon summoners
daemons came in many sizes and powers, usually depicted as tall strong and powerful, the girls were shorter but had an equal share of strength and power
a few examples being:
bakugo gained the demon Kirishima, an invincible force that could break through anything
momo gained the demon toru, an invisible force perfect for the acts of espionage
all of the shoji's friends had gained a demon and today was the last chance shoji would get to get one
it was 11:55
4 minutes until his birthday was over
he waited patiently on his bed in the hopes he would be lucky to get one
5
the lights went out
4
a dark glowing portal opened above his head and dropped a black papered contract in his hands
3
using his own blood drawn by a knife signed his name in anticipation
2
the room gave off a purple and red glow as the contract began to levitate in the middle of the room
1
his demon had arrived
"that's your daemon?!" Minetta asked while laughing, his own daemon sato giving a sugar rush slap to the head
"he's so small" ochaco awed, her daemon asui agreeing with a happy ribbit
tokoyami wasn't what everyone had thought of when shoji announced he had a daemon and was joining the class of U.A with his friends next year
tokoyami was in fact the total opposite
he was smaller, paler, less muscled, the only thing that was intimidating was the black-feathered head with blood coloured eyes

shoji knew he shouldn't feel disappointed, he was the lucky few that had a daemon, but when he glanced down the daemon, he couldn't stop the feeling of disappointment enter his body
shoji sighed as he and his new daemon walked home
he had asked his friends how found out about their daemon's powers
but all their responses were simply "they used them as soon as they were summoned"
so why was tokoyami different?
a crash soon took shoji out of his thoughts
"looky, looky, what lucky we are bucky" a villain laughed as he made his way from the shadows, he and his rabbit looking angel smiled creepily as they got closer
"shoji, take my hand," tokoyami said as they got closer
"what! now!" shoji shouted in anger, what good would hand-holding do
"if you want to get out here yes," tokoyami said calmly
shoji wanted to protest but as he saw the sadistic look in his eyes, he knew he had to trust his daemon
as their hand's touch shoji felt all his negativity be drained away
and as tokoyami took back his hand shoji saw his daemon produce a shadowy substance through his back, two purple-black claws and yellow gleaming eyes complimented the newly formed beasts' fangs
the villain and his angel took one look before running off in a hurry, screaming in terror
shoji stared as the beast slowly sank back into the daemon
"what was that" shoji asked in shock awe
tokoyami took a big breath as he began to explain
"my power is complicated, I am a demon that is also a host, within extreme negative emotions and/or the blackest of nights I can summon it under my control but your orders, I am still able to protect you in the daylight but...not as effectively, thanks to my, stature" tokoyami explained

shoji was both impressed but also guilty
his daemon was so powerful and intimidating that he didn't even need to use his power, but guilty that he was disappointed getting a shorter daemon
he was short and weak looking, but that was the perfect cover for hiding such a powerful and scary beast
if he had shaken his hand when he offered it when they had first met, he would have made this discovery ages to go
"I'm so sorry for the way I treated you" shoji apologised as they walked away
everyone thought tokoyami was a frail little thing
boy was they in for a surprise

Is That A Wisp?
Author’s Note: The start of the story is very slow and cliche. Give it a chance until the wisp reaches the human cities. It’s at that point that the book’s charm shows itself (Around chapter 20, all free!).

Steamforged Sorcery [A Steampunk LitRPG]
This is a fantasy story in a steampunk setting, not a sci-fi. The Great War ravaged the face of the earth many years ago. In the years that passed, the world rebuilt, mixing machinery and magic to form something new. Great blimps took to the sky, belching steam and smoke as metal cities sprouted like weeds below. Angel, a talented mage, scours the desert endlessly in search of lost knowledge. When it unexpectedly falls into his hands, he quickly comes to realize that the world is far larger – and far more deadly – than he ever could have predicted. But no amount of danger is going to keep Angel from seeking out greater strength and traveling the world, claiming all the greatest treasure that it has to offer. To most, the desert is a dangerous threat to be feared. To Angel, it’s a land of opportunity, waiting to be exploited. Steamforged Sorcery is, as the title suggests, a LitRPG Steampunk story with heavy focus on magic and scenery. The main character starts out relatively strong (but far from overpowered) but will eventually grow in strength to incredible levels. It is moderately paced and does not progress at ridiculous speeds. Release Schedule: 1,500 words daily Monday-Friday

The Children of the Divine Limit
A realistic, psychological isekai: What pushes people to rejoice, to torture, to sacrifice, to kill? What gives some the will to survive and thrive in a new land and others the craving for dominance and exploitation? What would those who grew up without power all their lives do when given the approval and blessings of God Himself? How far will someone go to protect those close to them? How far will someone go to exact vengeance against an unjust world? How far can someone go before the abyss looks back at them? "Everything in the world is about sex — except sex. Sex is about power." - Oscar Wilde “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.” - Abraham Lincoln Greed is the worst of all the deadly sins; all of human history lays out the evidence to support this thesis. Consider all of the above before reading this story: A 12th-grade high school class is sent to another world; a world of sword and magic called Omicron where other-worlders are revered as heroes given the divine blessing of the Lord God Sapiora, creator of Omicron's human race. It is currently a world at war. The humans of Omicron need these divine heroes as weapons against the Demon Emperor and the demihuman forces of the evil god Azazelin. However, two students within the class, Ajax Leonid and Shaula Seikennith, haven't been given the hero's blessing. They've been given something else, something more curious; the blood of a deity who noticed their specialness. As a result, after escaping the clutches of their summoners who tried to kill them for their lack of heroic potential, Ajax and Shaula enter the new world of Omicron with no one on their side except each other. While wading through rivers of blood, Ajax and Shaula seek a stable life, a life where they can salvage happiness. They have each other above all else. Perhaps the cost will be worth it. Perhaps not.
