a generally slouched and unkempt student

he had a quirk that allowed him to release a pink gas from his body

Anyone who breathes it in will take on the appearance and mental capacity of a zombie. The people transformed gains zombie-like strength and endurance

Anyone bitten by one of these zombies will be transformed into one

and that quirk that was used to create the zombie apocalypse of 2020

tokoyami held his sword close

the raven head never believed he would be stuck in this position

friendless

homeless

and on the run twenty-four 7

he had just escaped a crowd of zombies and bunkered into a new base, a shabby but stable basement

he never thought the villains would ever go this far to rid the hero's

the goal was to survive and find a cure

but that was extremely difficult when you hardly had any energy and was running low on food

he was surprised he had lasted this long

it had been 4 months since the outbreak and there were days he wanted to throw in the towel

but he couldn't do that, he needed to stay strong

for the rest of humanity

a distant thudding took him out of his daze

standing up he readied his sword

darkshadow hadn't been outside of his body in so long, mainly because the explosion of pink dust and pollution from the lab caused extreme global warming, the sun illuminating brightly

this meant tokoyami had to resort to his other talent

the thudding was getting closer

if it was swarm he would have to make a run for it, luckily there was an open window to his right

but the steps told him it was only one, a wanderer, he would be able to fend it off

he had never killed, no matter how close he was to a turning when things finally got back to normal he would make sure everyone turned back alive

there was a knocking at the door and a muffled voice

this confused tokoyami, zombies made grumbles and/or the occasional last word

but hearing it closely

whoever outside was speaking in clear new sentences

tokoyami knew it was risky, but he needed to know the truth

he opened the door

and saw something he had never thought he would meet again

another human being

a survivor

they let out a quick "thank you" as they bolted inside and closed the door behind them

they were wearing a long flowing hood and cape, their back facing the raven

even though he knew it was a survivor tokoyami didn't dare release his grip on his trusty sword

but that was when he was met with a familiar green messy hairstyle

"m,midoriya ?" tokoyami asked in shock

and it seemed like the figure was taken by surprise as well

when the green-haired figure turned around to meet the other being, showing his true face, tokoyami knew was right

"tokoyami?!" midoriya gasped

within seconds the two were in each other's arms, giving each other bone-crushing hugs and crying in joy

"oh, I thought I would never see you again" midoriya cried as they finally parted

"but how-" tokoyami was about to ask

"I was trying to find food when I encountered a swam, but then I also saw someone running, zombies don't run so I knew it was a survivor, but little did I know it was you, I am so happy" midoriya cried in joy

"I honestly cannot tell you how great it feels to see another survivor" tokoyami admitted

"so you're on your own?" midoriya asked impressed but with slight shock

"yes," tokoyami said sadly

midoriya patted tokoyami on the back in reassurance, he knew it must have been hard for the raven on their own

"you have to come with me, there's more of us, and we are planning an attack tonight, we could really use your help" midoriya muttered enthusiastically

but tokoyami was held in surprise

how many were there in hiding?

were any more of their friends still un-turned

tokoyami wanted to ask these questions and more

but stomping and groaning was soon heard and getting closer

"a swarm" tokoyami muttered

"dam, they must have seen me running" midoriya grunted in annoyance

this was time for tokoyami to show of his lone wolf skills

"Stay low and go out the window, stay close" tokoyami instructed as he opened the window to leave

midoriya nodded as loud banging started on the door

during this apocalypse tokoyami stayed close to one area, meaning that tokoyami knew it like the back of his hand, as well as the great hiding spots to wait out the swarms

as they left they closed the window just in time before the door came crashing down

holding his sword in his mouth tokoyami and midoriya began to scale the wall, random quirks being directed at them as they climbed

"paint quirk and ice on the left...watch the vines over the head and beware incoming cable wires" tokoyami instructed

midoriya could tell that tokoyami had stayed here for so long he knew the particular quirk users that ventured in this area

"jump to the roof on the right and go through the shoot, they can never get in no matter how many times I flee, and we'll just have to wait until they retreat" tokoyami declared as he jumped

and the two stayed in that shoot until tokoyami deemed it was safe again

"you really have this place down" midoriya chuckled

but like a lightbulb, he suddenly got a brilliant idea

midoriya and his team never stayed in the same area, always on the run and so they could never truly stay put and focus on a plan, but tokoyami was the key into their victory

midoriya had contacted his small but mighty team over to tokoyami's base and it wasn't long until they had arrived

"tokoyami!" Kirishima, asui and mina announced in disbelief

and once again tokoyami was roped into another bone-crushing hug

but after 15 minutes it was finally time to get to work

"ok, tokoyami tell us all you know," midoriya said

"ok, all I know is that the lab is being rebuilt about 4 miles to our left in a deserted hotel, there are numerous entrances that I'm sure the villains are unsure about, but the problem in it's vastly populated by zombies since the villains keep them close in-case of incoming attacks" tokoyami declared

"right, so we need a way to lure the zombies away from the entrance and find a way to reverse the zombie effects" asui added

"they've been keeping a cure incase the zombies start turning them, so all we need to do is get it and replace it with the zombie virus" mina finished

"right but first-" Kirishima began as he rummaged through his bag and pulled out numerous packets of hot dogs, bread, chocolate, fruit and sweets and drinks

"We need to get our energy up, especially you tokobro, you don't look good," the redhead said as he passed the food around, luckily the packets would stop the smell attracting the zombies

"well you don't look like a princess yourself" tokoyami responded as he began to eat

the group had feasted like they never had before, they would need the energy for plan back in order tomorrow

and it was the first time tokoyami was able to sleep properly, no need to fear zombies turning him in the night because now he had a team that made sure he got the well-needed sleep

and it wasn't long until morning came

and it was time for their attack

they walked on the roofs for 4 miles, making sure no zombies would spot them

and soon they were faced with the hotel

an army of zombies swayed and moaned around the building

"asui, Kirishima, you got the bait?" midoriya asked

"you're looking at us" Kirishima declared proudly as he pointed his thumbs towards himself

"stay safe you two" mina said as they gave each other hugs of confidence

and with that the rock and frog jumped down to an entrance, the zombies spotted them and instantly began to chase after them

the other three wishing them luck as they ran away from the mob

as the entrance cleared the remaining three jumped down and began to enter the hotel

the hallway was dark, finally giving tokoyami a chance to use darkshadow if needed

as they walked they were finally met with light leading to the next room

"be on your guards" tokoyami instructed as they went towards the light

within the room was filled with vials and bottles, some unconscious bodies on the floor, and one huge masterpiece in the middle

a great big glass orb that held pink mist inside attached to tubes that were supposedly used to turn any victim-survivors into zombies

anyone who was found out not changed other then villains would be taken to be changed, their screams being heard for over miles

the main reason how tokoyami knew they were hiding there

"let's find the cure and reverse the effects," mina said as she and midoriya began to search

but tokoyami stayed put

this was way too easy

where were the villains

a loud slam was heard just behind the raven

the door had just been open

and the zombies took notice

"the villains must have escaped when they saw us enter the hotel lab" mina shouted as she used her acid to make a gap between them and the zombies

"They must think the zombies will eradicate us before we get chance to reverse the effects" midoriya shouted

"then we need to find that cure now!" tokoyami shouted as he began to search

but the zombies were pooling in fast, some jumping over the hole that mina had made

"where!" midoriya cried as he swatted away books and bottles away

but that was when tokoyami noticed something

through their frantic search, their feet moved the carpet underneath them and revealed a green glow under the floorboards

"I think I've got it" tokoyami declared

but was met with silence

as he looked up he saw something he never wanted to see

midoriya and mina had been bitten

and a crowd of zombies were starting to circle him

"dark shadow!" tokoyami commanded

and just like a flood dakshadow came crashing down to the mob

with darkshadow keeping them at bay, tokoyami ripped out the wooden floor and grabbed the vial of green in a splintered and bloodied hand

ignoring the pain he injected the green gas into the emergency glass that connected to the big green orb

some zombies had gotten past the shadowy bird and were seconds away from changing the bird-headed survivor

tokoyami switched toggle which released the green gas into the pink, turning both gasses green and pumped it into the air

tokoyami closed his eyes as he waited for the bite

but it never came

he opened his eyes to see that the zombies were no longer zombie-like

one by one the people began to turn back to normal

and as they walked out of the hotel

they saw more of civilisation turn back to normal

the sky no longer being so bright and turning dark and begin to rain

tokoyami smiled as the droplets dropped onto his beak

"tokoyami, you did it!" midoriya's voice called out

everyone cheered his name

tokoyami was a hero

and the zombie apocalypse of 2020 was finally over
