tokoyami tossed and turned as nightmares plagued his mind

it had been a month since the woods incident and he was still having restless nights

"ugh! this is getting ridiculous!" he groaned as he got off his mattress and out of his room

"fumi, it isn't something that can be forgotten easily, it takes time," his quirk said, appearing and floating by his master's side

"how much time, it's already been too long" he grumbled as he walked downstairs, and ready to open the door

"fumi, its still really dark-" dark shadow tried to say before noticing how his master's eyes went dark and stern, more than usual

"the only way for me to get some sleep is to face my fear, if I can go out, stay completely calm, I will finally be able to call myself a hero again, twisting the nob and ready to walkout

"heroes have fears to fumi," darkshadow said desperately, going in front of tokoyami

"non, as pathetic as mine," he said loathingly, pushing away his quirk and into the moonlight

tokoyami kept his breath steady and kept his eyes on the moon, allowing his mind to take in the beauty of the night

but a branch crashing soon caught his attention

the person he feared most was standing exactly in front of him

including three other figures

shagaraki, twice, toga and dabi

"Why so shocked, you should have known we would have been back" shagaraki said jokingly

"How did you get here," tokoyami asked sternly

"kirogiri warped us is," toga said happily

"you should leave before things get ugly," tokoyami said threateningly

"just because it's dark out doesn't mean that you have the upper hand" dabi interjected, showing a flame produced on his hand

"Now, now, we're not here to fight, we are just here to convince you," the leader said, shaking at dabi to make him stand down

"why would I ever join your league," tokoyami asked, ready to get back in the house swiftly and alarm the teachers

"why would you want to be a hero?" toga asked smiling

tokoyami was about to argue before the leader cut him off

"Tell me, how did everyone react when you were taken, were they afraid of you"

now this made him pause

just like in what used to be their lair

when he came back only shoji was at his side

the others feared him, wouldn't come anyway near the raven headed boy

just like when he was young

"and why do you think all might saved you because he cared? no, it was to give himself a chance to shine" he continued

he was coming closer

and he could feel dark shadow grow stronger

they were right

"and why-" the leader was about to make another argument before a slashing black claw came straight towards him and the alarming voice commanding them to "SHUT UP"

dabi pushing him away just in time, but his arm itself got cut, blood gushing out, but he seemed un-phased

toga giggled at the sight

meanwhile twice walked up to the bird-headed student, who had his hands on his ears

just like last time

"you know we can help you" only if your interested" "I know what it likes to feel not in control" "I almost split every day" "was like a huge family" "we look out for each other" twice said, his sentence splitting itself

tokoyami looked up to the Deadpool lookalike

his words, they were so genuine

more than how his teachers ever were

more than how his actual parents were

"so, what do you say? you gonna join" asked shigaraki from behind

tokoyami thought for a moment before standing up and said

"yes, but I have an idea that might be more beneficial for all of us," he said with a smile

"I stay in A.U but as an undercover student, I can give you details of what they are planning and they won't suspect a thing" he finished

the leader came up to him and patted him on the back (not using all his fingers)

"Welcome to the team, we'll meet in the park tomorrow at 8, do not be late and do not be followed," he said as he began to walk away

a purple portal appearing behind him

"you won't regret this!" exclaimed twice as he picked up tokoyami in a hug, then dropping him back down and running to the portal

"if you can make more people bleed like that, I think we will get on very well" toga slyly said as she went to the portal as well

dabi did not say anything

just stared at him blankly through the portal

and with that, they were gone

tokoyami re-entered the building

and without second the quirk once again appeared (he had disappeared once twice had started talking)

"what the heck fumi, how could you betray-" it was about to say before tokoyami shushed it with his own finger

"the only ones that are being betrayed, are the ones who think I would be turned so easily by pretty words," he said with a smirk

dark shadow instantly understood what his master said

he was so good at deceiving that even his quirk was fooled

and the league of villains would never see this coming

he was no longer afraid, and now he could sleep

yes he was not treated well through his childhood

but he had friends that loved and supported him

and no matter what his past was

or how bad it was

it would never define him as who he is

he may have been treated as a villain

but he will rise and become the greatest hero ever
