《Layers Of Suffering (Tokoyami BNHA)》Lost Hope

--
The wind was howling, setting his hair flying all about. He never felt such strong winds before.
He felt his instincts screaming.
GRAB HOLD ON TO SOMETHING!
He fought the wind...
tried to keep his balance.
"Ugh, today of all days. Why must god rebel my path at this very instant?"
He stumbled forward against the wind.
He was visiting Hawks, wanting information on the progress of Tokoyami's search and rescue.
An unsuspecting gust of strong wind hit him as he was literally outside of Hawks' house.
He did not notice his tape fluttering behind him, reaching longer and longer distances as if trying to escape its wielder.
He struggled to open his eyes, which were already dry from the start.
Blinded by the wind, he could not care about his surroundings.
The tapes reached its maximum distance, alerting Aizawa of its position. It fought against Aizawa's movements, tugging him back. It almost felt like a child yanking his neck, directing him to a location.
He stumbled back a few centimetres, fazed by the new force around his neck.
"What the heck!" he exclaimed.
He was about to use his tape to grapple him to Hawk's door when...
Like movements of an insect trapped in a spider web, Aizawa felt the tape shift and drag in an unnatural way. The tape was tangled with something, and it's falling downwards...
Aizawa's eyes widened despite the wind, he instinctively pulled his tape, wrapping the unknown article like a gift.
It's heavy!
He applied an upward force to the article... but it was too heavy for him to stop its motion.
*Crack*
He looked behind and examined the scene, facing away from the wind enabled his eyes to open and see clearer.
"!!? Hawks?!"
As if on cue, the wind stopped after Aizawa uttered that word. The roaring wind rang at his ears, adding confusion and discomfort to him.
Tangled within his tape, lay Hawks. His eyes open without emotion or even pain.
Aizawa rushed to him, checking for a pulse.
He applied pressure using his finger on Hawks wrist.
...
...
...
.tic.
An illusion? Aizawa waited for another...
.tic.
A faint pulse hold Hawks on the last threads of his life.
Aizawa breathed a sigh of relief but he needed to hurry. He looked at Hawks form again. Something about his legs doesn't seem right... In fact, they look totally unrecognisable as legs anymore. 2 limbs hang loosely on his torso.

"What the hell..." Aizawa cursed.
He immediately took out his phone to dial for medical help, carrying Hawks with his tape and positioned him in a more comfortable position.
*beep* *beep* *THWARK! *
Aizawa's phone flung across the concrete floor. He jumped back in surprise letting out a grunt of shock. A red feather could be seen hovering in front of him.
Hawks! he thought and looked to his eyes.
Hawks eyes were barely open, his pupils locked onto Aizawa's. Aizawa checked his pulse again to find out that it was faint but stronger.
"Hawks, you're in critical condition! You need to go to..."
Aizawa just remembered that he had spoken to a suicidal person.
Hawks mouth wobbled. Soft and faint words escape his mouth.
"I... I am... not wor...thy."
Aizawa sighed.
"Hawks. I know you took the full blame but you need to stand strong!
"I... kil... I killed... Him. I killed T... Toko-" Hawks voice cracked with deep remorse and grief.
"You had little part in Tokoyami's kidnapping. You did not kill anybody. It was mostly Tokoyami's recklessness that caused the accident."
"... Exactly..." Hawks said, averting his eyes. However, he did not sound like he was agreeing with Aizawa.
"I'm calling medical help. There's not much time left."
Aizawa stops up and walked to his phone. A few red feathers blocked his path.
"Don't. Its... Its exactly as I thought. If you call for help, the media would know."
Aizawa turned to look at Hawks.
"Tokoyami would get hate even when he's kidnapped. Even when I'm at fault. People would think... Tokoyami injured the number 2 hero. Sure, most people would blame it on me, but do you think my fans would think the same?"
Aizawa thought for a while, trying to find his best to convince a depressed person to go on living.
" Tokoyami would be despised by everyone... even when he is in a vulnerable state. "
" Then how does killing yourself help the state of Tokoyami?"
" H... How can the number 2 hero not even prevent danger for a child!"
"Everyone makes mistakes, Hawks. Even the Symbol of Peace. You can't save everyone in the world. All Might had said to me that he can't save people he couldn't see, only those within his grasp!"

Aizawa lost his words at that statement.
"I am a failure as a father. I can't even protect my child, the child that I was most careful about..."
"That's what happens when I'm an orphan right? If I can't save my child, how am I supposed to go on living and being a symbol of peace for orphans?"
Aizawa saw the severity of the situation. He really couldn't argue using encouraging words. He needs to switch his plan. Use facts and logic.
" Don't you think Tokoyami's suffering alone now? If you make a mistake, make up for it! Don't be a coward and run away from it! Running away from it now will only label you as a person who doesn't care about orphans. You left one to die."
"I already killed him."
"How are you so sure that he's dead?"
"Because he's right beside you now..."
Aizawa quickly glanced around him...
Only to find no one was around.
Hawks must be hallucinating. If that is so, it would be a pointless argument. The best way is to prevent any more danger from occurring.
With a swift motion, he used his tape and knocked Hawks unconscious. Hawks was too weak to defend.
If the hospital isn't a choice, recovery girl would be his best option. With that in mind, he tried to navigate his way secretly to the UA Academy.
--
While unconscious, Hawks was embedded inside his thoughts...
Tokoyami was alone in a world of black. His form was small and vulnerable. He was on the ground, hugging his knees tightly. Without a single soul in sight, he had no one to help him.
Hawks wanted to reach out to grab him. Hug him tightly and never release his embrace. If he just could be there for him.
He tried desperately to reach him, but he seemed to be imprisoned in an enclosed location, out of sight for Tokoyami to see him.
ARRRRGHHHHH!
He used his hands to pull himself through the rebounding force. He made little progress, an insignificant amount. Within minutes, all of his strength was sapped away.
Tokoyami's sobs could be audible now, an aura of blue surrounds him. His form seemed smaller and thinner as if he was starving to death.
It all regained Hawks strength, his desperation to stop his sadness. Tokoyami's cries stabbed his heart deeply, every vibration tormented his mind. His screams of assurance seemed soft compared to the sobs, lost into the black void.
Hawks knew his past, his past was filled with suffering and torture. There wasn't a time with fun and enjoyment. Such emotions never existed until now. That's why he always maintain a joyous mind. He needed his positivity because he almost went insane without it. Life without emotions is meaningless. Your life would be filled with corruption or nothing.
Looking at Tokoyami, he knew the torture, the suffering that Tokoyami is going through. All he wanted, all Tokoyami wanted, all orphans wanted is a pillar of support. Someone. Anyone.
He needed to be the one.
It seemed as Tokoyami was getting further and further away but Hawks couldn't do anything about it.
The scene suddenly changed. A fire-red glow enveloped the scene, a gradient was made and the point where it is the most strongest was Tokoyami.
Hawks was breathing deeply, tired from constant effort.
However, something stopped his breathing.
Cries of torture filled his ears.
His movements were automatic, even when he truly does not want to see the scene unfold. The movements of a true hero overtook him.
Tokoyami was being held by many black figures, one with hands around his neck, strangling him.
"STOP IT! STOP HURTING TOKOYAMI!"
His screams were absorbed into the black void again.
"aaagaaghhhhh *cough* *hack * aaraaaahh! "
"ENOUGH! STOP THIS! PLEASE!"
"hurgg hurrh *cough* hrrraaaaaagghh!"
"HE'S M... MY SON! PLEASE! HES MY ONLY SON! "
" hraaagg aaagagggahahh... Aaa.. A.. Aa.. A. Aah! "
"Please...... He's just a boy. He's just a weak soul."
Hawks is on the ground now. He knows he does not have a chance to reach Tokoyami. Now all his emotions are converted into his grief. Nothing scares him more than seeing a person slowly die in front of him. Especially his child.
"gaa... Aaa... *cough*. aargh.. ah...argh..ah... a...... a............ah............*breaths out*"
"my... Son...

Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
